I've come here a few times and overall really enjoy it. The fare is fairly standard Mexican American, although I think a bit tastier than average chain, especially if you go for one of the house specials. The decor and overall atmosphere inside is also well done, with an upbeat, festive feel. Service is generally good and the prices are reasonable, especially for the house margaritas. There's also a large covered patio to take advantage of when the weather is nice,

One thing about Atlanta, there's going to be a Mexican nearby which really makes some folks connoisseurs. There's a lot to choose from on this menu - which is okay. And if Mexican is not your thing, they have ground beef tacos with hard shell. Most times I've been, it's been easy to get seated quickly. They make great drinks! And that's probably what drives me back because the food is mid. The staff is friendly and always accommodating.

First of all, this is my very favorite Mexican restaurant in Atlanta.. outside of Super Rica! The food is perfectly prepared every time. We LOVE the Birria tacos and the fajitas are genuinely delicious. Vicky the bartender makes the BEST margaritas and her service is top notch. Highly, highly recommend.

Excellent fusion of Hispanic cities and countries! We had a quiet table for the 10 of us to celebrate our mother's life surrounded by artistic walls she would have liked. Thank you 100% to the great service.

Please forgive me for my lack luster pictures. I was in good heaven, and on my second margarita before I got it together to write a review. They have indoor and outdoor dining. Big plus. Ambiance and decor. Fun, vibrant. I likey the bathroom. Don't judge me...I've been to some places. The decor made me feel if sports bar and Mexico had a baby, this would be it. Staff. Fun and vibrant like the place. Not overbearing. And Food comes out quick. Food. Their table chips and salsa is so good. Light and salsa so garden fresh. Yum. I had the salmon and a fish taco. Oooh the fruit salsa on it and drizzle of sauce and fresh avocado was superb. Next time I'll have three. To wash it down I had a blue Margarita and passion fruit margarita. Try it with extra alcohol. Not a negative, but why not go all in. Love this spot can't wait to go back. There is so much more I want to try.

My hubs Bob and I we're going to try the New Mexican place in peachtree blvd, but it's not open yet! So we turned the corner and ended up at Rojo. A fun atmosphere! Not a cookie cutter restaurant. It has a thoughtful decor with a red wall covered with a chain link fence for hanging adornments . Our server Lety brought out the chips and salsa (both perfect- light and crispy, flavorful and spicy respectively.). She took our drink order. We both got the Rojo Marg. I asked how it was different from the house marg. Basically the house is a mix. And the Rojo is made from scratch with more alcohol. It was delicious. I got mine frozen no ice and he got his on the rocks with ice (as usual). The part that was unique was that the rim salt was black! It made for a striking and memorable presentation. The drinks don't have prices in the menu, and I didn't ask. But they were in the regular range. Maybe around $7.50 ea? For starters we had the queso with jalapeños. Not actual jalapeños, tho. It was more of a swirl of jalapeño purée. Delicious. I had the chicken quesadilla al carbon. It was like a chicken fajita quesadilla minus the guac. Super delicious. Came with lettuce, pico, sour cream, and rice. Bob got the Carnitas. As far as vibes, it's kind of like if Verde and Los Bravos had a baby, it would be Rojo. An extensive menu with some of our all time favorites. But it also had a cool vibe and outdoor seating we'll definitely be back ... and ask for Lety! She's awesome.

Nice little addition to the Chamblee scene. Been looking for a cool Mexican place and we have found it. Even though we came during covid, the place has a cool vibe. Bar that opens up to the patio with a good drink selection. I had the Rojo fajitas, which were very good. Rojo fajitas are shrimp, steak, chicken and pork with onions, peppers and squash. The fiancé had the chicken burrito. The burrito was very big and very tasty.

Just average for me - everything was "not bad"... food, service, value. Good location but there are spots with better atmosphere close by.

They have quickly become my favorite place to get Mexican food. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on Buford Highway in a small shopping plaza. The lot is medium sized, but they are sharing it with a few other businesses, and depending on the night it could definitely be hard to find a spot so keep that in mind. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!

If I'm paying $19, I expect a flawless burrito. I was also confused as to why the menu labeled the item as langostino. It was a normal shrimp and quite deceptive to call it langostino (which translates to langoustine from Spanish). For the record, for a $19 burrito, I only received 3 "langostino" or "giant shrimp" which really was just a regular shrimp nestled in semi-cooked rice and bean. I did get 2 thin slices of avocado. The tacos taquero de bonemarrow was a simple taco with a side of bone marrow. For $28, I'd expect something with more substance and frankly, a little more seasoning. Tacos were quite bland and I luckily had a packet of salt in the car. The bone marrow was nice, but I wouldn't consider 4 small tacos and 1 bone marrow to be equivalent to $28. I saw good reviews online and wanted to try this place out to see Mexican food outside of CA. This place is mediocre and I'm certain there are other better places one can venture to in Atlanta. Service was okay. I called for takeout and paid in advance for my order. Parking is in an apartment complex building (maybe?) and you do have to walk out to find the store.

Blending Mexican, regional American, and other Latino cultures as early as the 70s, many of the metro restaurants are some of the first Mexican restaurants to open in their respective ATL bubbles. All restaurants are known for their fajitas, margaritas, and use of fresh ingredients. Over the decades, I have regularly frequented the Doraville location (on Buford Highway right inside of the perimeter). It is one of my go-to spots for celebrating, reconnecting, venting, and exhaling. I've laughed, argued, and cried sitting in one of the back right booths. Service is on par for a casual restaurant. If you drink, plan on spending a couple of hours. Their margaritas, sangrias, and sangritas are not for the once-in-a-blue-moon drinker. Over the years, I've developed a sensitivity to triple sec that keeps me from drinking non-craft margaritas. Fortunately, there are other tasty beverages on the menu. Monterrey has lunch specials that carry into the weekend. My go-to order is the fajitas. I also enjoy their enchiladas, chicken tacos, and chimichangas. I can eat 2 bowls of chips by myself with their amazing salsa and queso dips (I love mine with jalapeños and chorizo, but my order depends on who I am with).
