He was the first I reached out to but was the last to respond. Received other responses but my gut feeling wasn't settled, and I trust my gut. "Do it yourself", was what someone told me. Anyway, Ronald saves the day, and plain as day, he tells me what he plans to do with each of the 3 issues, and a higher end ball park figure for a quote. Then, "He cometh and He fixeth" perfectly, and in the manner I had hoped for: new trim, not putty. Best part: paid less than the high tier ball park. He takes zelle so it's contactless (which is unfortunate because he deserved a big kiss). Pros: Speaks English, prompt, pleasant, knowledgeable, no drama like, "wow, this is a bigger job than expected", very obviously skilled. Cons: There's only one Ronald the Handyman. We had to have some stained glass panes installed in some doors we had made for our balcony and it was impossible to find someone to do the job. We have been looking for a good handyman for a long time and our electrician recommended Roland, and we couldn't be more pleased with his work. Roland showed up when he said he would and was very professional and did a great job. We had Roland come by for 2 days and do a bunch of things, from patching holes left by electricians to putting in a shelf over the washer and dryer, replacing base boards, fixing our dishwasher that was loose and attaching our microwave to an outside vent. I'm with fellow reviewer Chris J. I messaged him through Yelp and he immediately responded. I texted him and told him that I was looking to mount a tv and asked him how much it would cost. He told me to call him which I should have known wasn't a good sign since - just tell me how much it is. It's not a complicated question. This is what you do for a living. I'm guessing he didn't want to text the price so I didn't have a trail of him trying to JACK me for $500 to mount a tv and $400 to mount a sound bar!!! WHAT?! ARE YOU INSANE?! Before I could get the sentence "No, no thank you" out of my mouth he hung up on me. Yes. I wasn't even saying "Hell naw" which was a very appropriate response. He hung up on me. I don't care how good his other reviews are there is definitely an unprofessional attitude just lurking beneath the surface waiting to come out so buyer beware. After being ignored by calls to several painter/handyman, I was pleasantly surprised when I promptly received a return call from Roland. Better yet, he said he could some by my house in Encino shortly. True to his word, he was there in about a half hour. We went over the items I wanted done including painting a wrought iron gate and fence and refinishing 3 door threshholds on my house.
