I recently called Roll-A-Shield with some questions about their products. I spoke with a representative named Live (apologies if I'm misspelling her name). Unfortunately, the interaction left me very uncomfortable. When I asked about pricing and requested to speak with a sales rep, I was told to just use the website. I explained that I had additional questions and preferred to talk to someone directly, but she refused to connect me and responded in a very dismissive and impolite manner. I want to be clear: this review is only about the communication. I have no experience with Roll-A-Shield's products, so I can't speak to their quality--good or bad. My decision not to move forward was based solely on how I was treated during this initial call. Eventually, someone else did follow up, but by then, I had already made up my mind not to proceed. spent 10K for 4 shades. #2 shade locks up and binds. called them and they promised to come fix it. we'll they never showed up! called them again again they promised to come out that week.to make a long story shot this happend 4 times ! 4 no shows no call after you pay for the screens your on your own no service what so ever ! my advise steer clear of this company. got to hire someone else to fix it warranty is usless. I had a love/hate experience. The Roll A Shield part was awesome. They are perfect and they managed to install them early. I also had a security door on my order, which is the "hate" part. My ONLY request was to verify that the door I chose was IN-STOCK. I was waiting a month for the shields, and was eager to have the door installed quickly. I was told the door was in stock and would take 3 days to arrive once the measurements were verified (2 days later). 2 WEEKS later.... I was told it wasn't in stock, would arrive in another week+, and installed. I canceled the door and went somewhere else. I thought I was going to have an issue canceling, but I eventually spoke to someone who handled it. If you're looking for roller shades, they are awesome. Go somewhere else for security doors. read more

I contracted to have rolling shutters installed on 5 windows at my house. The original 4 week lead time ended up only being about 2 weeks. The installation technicians, Buzz and his associate, were precisely on time and very courteous, and the job was finished within the projected time frame of 5 hours, with about 30 minutes to spare. They got the remote system set up without any issues. Buzz explained the routine maintenance procedures to me and addressed my questions regarding maintenance. The internet hub for remote online access arrived a couple of days later and I was able to set that up within about 15 minutes. The pricing for this system was surprisingly competitive, especially considering the fast and great service delivered. One of the best investments I ever made for my home. High quality aluminum shades on exterior of windows provide options for all the way down with closed holes, down with open holes for light to come through, partway up, all the way up. Ideal for security at night or when you are away from home. Also to cool the house in the summer. You may not even need window treatments with these shades. Repair service was well performed and reasonable. Only complaint was that service could not be scheduled until 2 months later. read more

My house has a huge south facing bay window and east facing double doors - both into the master with a vaulted ceiling. It makes the room terribly hot and hard to cool. After much research of different options to cover the windows and cool the room, I realized that Roll-A-Shield was the most logical. Today I had all four fenestrations into the master covered with the rolling blinds. The sales man was fantastic and the installation guys were a lot of fun. Poor guys were out there in the sun for most of the day. These shades made an immediate difference. The room is cooler, dark, and feels like an oasis instead of the green house. The product is expensive. But so are summer electric bills and new air conditioners! This should help with the electric bill and eventual resale of the house. So glad I invested in these shades! Buyer beware as this RAS franchisee is retaliatory and will no longer deal with you if you write an honest review of work performed. Even Glenn K acknowledged (a few days ago) that this install - by one of their subcontractors - was subpar and one of the first solar shades installed so all were unfamiliar with installation requirements. I love the sunny bright days in Mesa! However, glare on the TV and waking up at sunrise, even with the blinds closed and a shade pulled down was getting to be too much. I did a lot of research on the various options - materials, costs, customer comments and satisfaction, maintenance, warranty, durability, service, etc. After a phone chat and in-house meeting with Glen I determined Roll-A-Shield was the best solution. I decided to get a Roll-A-Shield for three southwest windows. Next, Mark came to the house for measurements and to evaluate electrical consideration. While he was here I decided the two east facing bedrooms should have them as well. Mark took care of measurement and Glenn updated the order. Then Taylor determined the schedule and gave an estimated installation date, with a little leeway, which I appreciated, as there is always the possibility of unplanned circumstances. And the day before the installation, Lauren called to verify the installation. It was completed as planned. I knew I would be happy, but I didn't expect to be thrilled! The color matches perfectly with the house, I have complete control over how much, or little, light I let in, operation is simple, and bedrooms stay dark as long as desired. When my HOA came to approve the project I told them to give anyone interested in this kind of project my information so they can drop by and see for themselves.
