A couple of staples fell out of the slats on my plantation shutter and I tried to repair it myself - didn't work :( Called Shutter & Blind Repair and told them I was a very small job. They told me their minimum price for a service call and it was a fair price. Jim came out today and fixed my shutter! Great guy! Good communication from the company and quick response time, too. I appreciate the fact that Jim didn't try to upcharge me for a small repair (as some repairmen often do). I will call and specifically ask for Jim next time I need a shutter repair. We were very impressed with Dan, Mason and Travis. It is notable that they are willing to repair/update existing shades even if they didn't do the original install. Proper troubleshooting led to updating motors on our large exterior shades. It is great to have them working properly again. They efficiently reprogrammed the existing remotes to add redundancy and efficiency. We were so impressed we asked for a proposal to update our inside shades. Strange sketchy , they say they don't need a website they are just so great & busy. Red flag. say they came here removing rolling shutters that are manual. We don't have those! Tgey work with champion windows who keeps trying to get them without our permission to remove our blinds and shutters! They make appointments with champion windows to work on our home even though we said no! We asked them by complaining on bbb to stop calling stop coming. Had to block their numbers and they STILL came out one evening at dinner time to argue. Wanted to do work why bring a clipboard. I personally would not trust it. Anyone working for or with champion windows is terrible. They have reached stalking us at this point. We asked numerous times to not bother us, no calls no trespassing do not contact us in any way. read more

Called for a repair quote and they were in the neighborhood. They stopped by 10 minutes after my call and gave me a very reasonable quote. Quite friendly folks. Okay, so we just moved into our home, it has Somfy blinds in the main living space. They did not work. The ceilings are over 15' and the wiring up near the top, so I was not going to try to fix them myself. We called Dan, he came and fixed the remote control, and gave us advice about how to handle the large windows in our home. Dan is awesome, he knows his stuff. Received a card for this business in a direct mail, scenario. I needed a custom blind repair (broken string) and this came at the perfect time. Dialed the number and I could tell it was being forwarded to another number (623) 606-1959. The person who answered (Dan) seemed nice enough and said the first number is for his 'marketing team' to keep track of all the calls. OK. Asks me to text the second number with contact information and he'd get me on the schedule. 1 text, 2 text, 3 call, four call, five - NOTHING. NADA. Did a little research and found a negative review on the BBB website and that's about it. If you received a card from the "Doctor", I'd suggest you get a second opinion. read more

It's hard to know if these people are sketchy or if they are just simple. In either case, they fall in the unprofessional category. The information gathered in the initial survey process leaves a lot to be desired. Post visit, the husband and wife team demonstrated questionable business practices and when questioned in a normal manner about products and services, their taking offense to such questions put up a big warning flag. It was easy to feel that there'd be a disaster waiting to happen if I proceeded to contract with them for services. Early on after their onsite visit, I did not feel entirely comfortable hiring them, and then they made it easy for me to move on. For anyone looking for similar services, I suggest finding another company for your shutter and blind repair needs. read more

Ask the guys to program one motorized shade. We had several in the home. They could not get it programed and when they left all the shades were really messed up. I had my brother and his wife program all the shades and they work fine now. Would not recommend this company. read more

HONEST REVIEW!!! STAY AWAY FROM SHUTTER AND BLIND REPAIR DOCTOR!!! Our experience was nothing short of awful and unprofessional! It started out by Shutter and Blind Repair Doctor returning my initial phone call over a week later, which should have been my first clue. When they finally called me back, I was told they had forgotten. They scheduled me 5 weeks out for a free consultation. Wow, that should have been my second clue. When they finally showed up, the owner quoted $800.00 (required half of the money up front) to repair a few woods blinds. That should have been my third clue. Fortunately, I only gave them a $100.00 deposit. After the owner left, he said the technician would call me later that day to schedule. EIGHT DAYS LATER, I called the company again as I had not heard from anyone. Once again, she (the owner's wife, Randi) apologized and made another excuse. The technician finally called and we scheduled for the upcoming Saturday. When the technician showed up, I asked him if he had a mask to wear. Their reviews state "they wear masks and put safety first." He stated "No, but you said you were vaccinated and so am I. Do I have to?" I explained to him that my wife is high risk and if he did not want to wear a mask he needed to leave. He then stated that he did not want to wear a mask. He then turned around and left with a pissed-off attitude. I then called the Randi (not a nice person) and she started to lecture me that masks are no longer required and Biden said so! Seriously!! She stated that they didn't think it was necessary for them to wear them anymore. I tried to explain to her that I don't care what the CDC and the government say as my wife is high risk and their website and online reviews state that they wear masks. She continued to tell me what was safe, as she was screaming into the phone, and could not even have an intelligent conversation. She continued to yell at me and repeated that "Biden said it was safe" and that were no issues with the technician being in our house. Are you kidding me? That is her best response to a customer? She continued to tell me what she thought was safe for my house and then she hung up the phone. Five minutes later she called me back to argue further again! She obviously was not interested in customer satisfaction, only wanting to pick a fight, so I ultimately hung up on her. What a very angry person! I have requested my deposit back and her comment was "There is a $25.00 cancellation fee." As I argued with her regarding that, she said "I can charge you $85.00 if I feel like it!" Absolute lunacy, craziness and extremely unprofessional! Not sure if I will ever see that $100.00 again! read more

I had these guys out a year ago and I am still fixing their mistakes. Everywhere they repaired a shutter they left a yellow glue residue that can only be repaired by repainting. These guys were in a rush to get the job done and again I am still cleaning up after THEIR mess with the yellow glue. HELLLLLLLO white shutters not yellow glue on the staple please. I received a mailer from the Shutter & Blind Repair DR. and thought this is amazing, I didn't know who to call to repair the wood shutters in the home I recently purchased. I called the number and left a message, within a few minutes I received a return call and scheduled my appointment. Dan arrived today gave me a free quote, I accepted, he made all the repairs at a reasonable cost. I recommend them highly! I also recieved a flyer. I have an older home with a large roller shade (94" w) over a sliding glass door. There is a large spring that has been sprung that helps it go up and down. I have been shut down by every company I've called. When I called,Randi helped me and I sent her pics. Dan and his trainee Jim came to my house in Tempe the same day and spent 1 1/2 hrs trying to repair it. They couldn't fix it and I asked Dan how much and he said " I couldn't fix it so no charge". It was so nice of them to even try that I did give him a few bucks for the effort. He said he would contact some people in the business to see if he can help me. I may have to change out the entire mechanism, but I'd rather not. I give them 5 stars for caring enough to try! read more
