On 5/13 2026, we had our Patio Sun and Wind Screen installed. We had an excellent experience throughout the entire process. At the in-store sale and order back on 4/17/2026, for less than a month for completion. The installation team of Grabrail and Byron first had to remove our twenty-year-old awning. This process left many stucco holes that had to be repaired. They stepped up and painted them so no repairs showed. Our patio protection is back and looks great again. I had to rewrite my review. I was disappointed only 1 crank was included for 2 shades. So you have to alternate between the shades with it, and it's a bit challenging getting it in and out of the mechanism. They just offered to sell me another one for $54 if I picked it up. Not what I was expecting after paying thousands of dollars. The second item: it's extremely challenging to roll the shades up and down, especially if you're a small person. You have to fiddle around trying to find the sweet spot. And it seems to take forever. So if you needed to raise them in a hurry during a wind storm, good luck. He offered no solution for it except to get me a quote to motorize them. He did state this was the only mechanism they sold .... so I guess he's saying _____ out of luck for me. Be warned about the noise the awning valance makes in wind. I could hear it over the television, even in light wind. The stronger the wind, the louder the noise of the fabric striking against the metal casing. Neighbors on both sides and across the street contacted me about it. I was so disappointed with the customer service response I received. According to Liberty, who has been installing awnings for decades in the Valley, has "never" heard of this problem before. The fix: they could walk me through removing it. What? Sending out someone to see what I was dealing with wasn't an option when I asked. The entire reason I went with Liberty was because they were family owned and local. I'm worried now about the warranties I was told about after reading the reviews. I ended up finding a camping gear place that was able to help me with a way to secure the valance. I can't recommend Liberty because I really felt so unheard, discounted, and like once they get the sale, the family owned customer service crumbled. I was raised in family business. The awning itself is beautiful. I will never know if going with a Sun Setter distributor would have been a better experience, but I wonder. read more

Then rather than a just admitting to all of the incompetence - some clearly demonstrated by the photos - you attempt to explain it away with the old...."2 sides to every story"....that you attempted to make it right...and you tried to make the customer happy. Next time just tell the truth and say your incompetent employees couldn't execute some of the most basic construction tasks and when that became so apparent you picked up stakes and went home. This company does not stand behind their products and does not offer service. This is what they told me when I reached out to get service for my motorized units that the original owners paid $7,000 to purchase. "Because you bought this house with the shades already installed, the warranties are non-transferable. Also, because the unit is almost 10 years old, Liberty is unable to service it due to the age of the unit. The only service that Liberty can provide is to replace the entire awning." Their people are good, they helped me when I reached out and provided me with all the information they could. I will not consider this company if and when I plan to replace ours or buy a new set when I move someplace. read more
