Roller Kingdom gets a lot of crap for being run down and old, but after their remodel it's pretty nice inside. The carpet on the floors and walls is brand new, super vibrant, fun colors! Also brand new is the roller rink, it's now wood floor boards so there is very little bumps on the surface. This is the only roller rink in town and for how big it is, the price to me is completely reasonable. Where else can you take your family of 4 for a fun activity, get exercise anytime of the year, winter or summer, eat a snack, and spend less than $20. We love roller skating, and we love that this place is holding strong. In a time, when "older" activities seem to fade away, we will continue to enjoy all the Roller Kingdom has to offer. It's been quite a while since my kids have roller skated here. They really upgraded this place since the last time we were here. Before, the floor had a few holes in it. It was actually hazard. The carpets were all tattered and worn out. Now it has a new skate floor and new carpet. Also they just changed the tables along the rink. The kids have their own skates, they bought them here. Actually quite good at skating or five of them. My wife and I used to have our dates at a skating rink in San Jose. That has gone the way of most of the skating rinks and has closed down. There has been a price increase from nine dollars for Skating and skate rentals, to $10 for skating and skate rentals. I think it's still a good deal. We never buy snacks there though, they are just way too expensive and way too crappy. But if you're into ICEE's, candy and frozen pizza, they have plenty of junk food. read more

This place is not welcoming, ran by a bunch of little kids that don't care and on a power trip. The music and the rental skates are crap. Make sure you show up exactly for the session time or you have to pay for the next one too and nobody tells you if you wait 15 minutes you won't have to do that. I booked a birthday party here for my daughter. I would definitely NOT recommend the party service. It was extremely unorganized and unprofessional. The party started at 6:00pm. I arrived at 5:45 and when I went to the window, was informed curtly by the teenage employee that I would not be able to even check in until exactly 6:00pm. So I had to stand there and do the check-in while the guests were standing there waiting in the foyer. I've booked parties at many other places in town such as Defy and Wild Island, and have never been made to wait until the exact moment the party starts to even start the check in process! According to the website, the party includes "pizza and soda for each guest." At booking, I ordered an extra pizza and an extra pitcher of soda so that I could offer pizza and soda to parents as well, taking the website at its word that all of the actual kids would be covered. I had 18 kids, and two medium pizzas were brought out. That seemed like an extremely measly amount of food for eighteen kids. I was told nothing else was going to be brought. When I went to inquire where the extra pizza I had ordered was, I was told that the second pizza WAS the extra one. So ONE medium sized pizza is supposed to feed 18 kids?!?! That is a rip off. I told them to bring another pizza and I'd pay for it. I have never had such an issue at any other place I've booked parties at. There has always been enough food for the kids and I've always only needed to order extra to offer to the adults. When I went to check out, the girl said they "decided not to charge me for the second pizza, only the third," as though they were doing me a favor. A medium sized pizza is barely sufficient for a family of four, let alone eighteen! If I would have known ahead of time that it would only be one medium pizza for all the kids, I would have ordered several extras. The website says "pizza and soda for each guest." So basically, that vague description means they give you one measly pizza no matter how many guests you have booked for and paid! Either make clear when booking that it only comes with one medium pizza, so people know to order more so that there is enough for each guests, or else charge more money and make sure there is enough for each guest to eat. There is no actual adult in the place besides the security guard who checks people as they come in. Most of the employees are very young teens, with their managers being older teens, and none of them seem to have any training in how to offer professional customer service or how to act. I will not be returning and the teenage employees, I'm quite sure, will not care in the slightest. Who ever owns the shabby rundown place probably doesn't care either. But the people who would spend their money at this place might, so it's them I am warning. Just don't. read more

We had our children's birthday party at Roller Kingdom March 6th, '21, and it was fantastic! The place where I practically grew up skating, so it brings back so many memories and it was awesome to share those with my kids! The party room was clean, ready and set up in advance of our party. Our hostess Maddy was THE BEST!!! She took the worry, stress, and hassle out of hosting a party, so I could enjoy watching my kids celebrate their birthday...something many moms don't get to enjoy! This location DOES NO SELL WATER. Only water available is through a broken vending machine or a drinking fountain. Workers are quite rude when requesting it. It's literally just water. UPDATED as of 06/30/24 @ 8pm: I was at this location earlier today at 2pm and let me just say it was way too hot for the place to even have people occupying it. Bothe thermostat by the Restrooms and by the fan in the back right hand corner read 80*F. I asked the manager is their air working and she said yes. Requested for my money back and got exactly that. I was there for about 15 minutes if that. Called tonight and spoke with the Owner. He is a complete rude asshole who doesn't let anybody talk or express their concerns. Let me just let you know, that I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they can take care of this place from here. read more

They recently remodeled this place so it definitely looks a lot better! The floor was recently re-done to wood and the carpet brand new as well. I hadn't been here since I was in high school, but who said you can't revisit your high school past times in your 30's! I recently came here with my friends and everyone left their kids home. Places like these are so rare! And honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. It's a lot of fun for the family and really cheap! We bought groupons to here $24 for 4 admissions, skates, and even a slice of pizza + soda! Even without Groupon, Roller Kingdom offers seasonal offers like for Winter Break they had $5.50 admissions + skates. Food was average, probably not home made pizza. Around 15-30 mins before end of the session they announced 50 cent slices.. and they sold out like hot cakes (or shall I say hot pies)? Skates were relatively new, not too worn. They had a variety of free skate, games, and other challenges. A good fit for skaters of all levels. They also mixed it up between today's hits and some older throwbacks. Plenty of parking and very close to the casino locations for those who want to do something different. read more

We came her for a friends little ones birthday. They followed covid protocols to keep everyone safe and the staff was very tentative to our party. My daughter has never been roller skating so we got the walker to help her. The floor wasnt overly crowded so she could get comfortable with skating. They even let me walk with her a few times around to make sure she was ok. They set you up on a table and then they give you a party room for a bit to have some privacy to have food and to do cakes and gifts. My daughter wants to come here for her birthday so we will be back! read more

In 1999 I was about to join a gang. A well known one in Reno where the leader of the gang is about 120 years old. They are well known for spray painting under bridges (not a lot of bridges in Reno) but ok, we was about to spray paint the whole city, and then a light told me to put down that can, and pick up roller skates. This place changed my life & also made me wonder who in the church did that commercial for this place & that I hope they didn't pay for that. This place has really gone downhill. Getting in is like trying to go through airport security , metal detectors, and all. They straight made us spit out our gum at the door but dont care to invest in LIDS for their soda cups, so obviously there is soda spilled everywhere, some random teenager dumped her soda all over my mother nearby and just sped off. They also confiscated our nicotine vapes(mind you, we're of legal age, and its not like we'd be puffing out on the rink). Yet the bathrooms are flooded with teenagers hotboxing it up. If you're gonna enforce some new rules, make sure it applies to everyone. All of the workers are just plain disrespectful and clueless. This place is just not what it is anymore. We visited this roller skating rink for my daughter's birthday. It's a typical skating rink with a few arcade games and a snack bar. The rental skates weren't great because a lot of them didn't have long enough laces. Also, our visit looked like Covid doesn't exist. The building was as packed as you would expect on any weekend session, birthday parties were taking place, no social distancing. Honestly, I don't know how the health department approved them to have that many people in the building at one time. Anyways, we will be back because the kids enjoyed it, but not until the pandemic is over. read more

This was so much fun and the workers (all volunteers) were just a great team and so accommodating. None of our grandchildren had ever been rollerskating before. Let's be honest: until just recently, this place had become a dump. Dirty, poorly managed, sketchy equipment, and a reputation for attracting clientele I didn't want my kids to mingle with. I long ago waved off on this as an option for family outings, but after a recent change in ownership and a pretty serious overhaul of the place, it appears to have a new lease on life as Reno's lone roller skating rink. My in-laws recently scheduled my niece's 10th birthday party here, and I was definitely a bit hesitant. It turned out to be one of the best kid parties ever. They rented out the place on a Sunday for a couple hours before they're open to the public, and the price was less than some other "event" birthday options in the area. The staff were really friendly and on top of things, and the gaggle of wheeling kids had a great time. I have really fond memories of skating as a kid, and it's heartening to see that there's once again a decent venue for it. Bonus: twin axle and rollerblades are both available. P.S. Had to teach the kids how to do the arm motions for "YMCA", and man that took me back. I didn't get on skates (bad idea at my age), but I was grinning just as much as the kids. read more

The line to get inside for the 2 hour birthday party session took a FULL HOUR. We missed an hour of the party standing in line. There's no party check in, and the cashier works at a snails pace. Ohhhhh wow, childhood memories here! It was 80's night but did not realize it was family night so it was a bit crowded with small ones for my likings but don't get me wrong we still had a blast! The new floor is pretty cool, gotta say miss the old concrete one. Skating on wood is a bit different but it was nice to have it smooth. The new carpet looks good too. Love all the new lighting that is above the skate floor now. Love the fact that there is vending machines for water and such. Still have the snack bar, prices are very reasonable. They have the skate shop where you can purchase skates and accessories. They have party rooms as well so you can have a private party. Still the same skates from when I was growing up. We have our own skates so that makes it a bonus. It was a blast. Definitely look forward to adult night. read more

My son and I love this skating rink! They offer weekly specials and the rink is HUGE. We go every Thursday night which is family night. I find both the admission and skate rentals very affordable. Be sure to visit on the 3rd Thursday each month for 80's night. They are in the middle of a full renovation, however still open for business. They just changed out all the carpeting and was told that they are going to redo the rink in August and go all wood! Great place for the family and decent snack bar too. read more

Music choice here is so bad. Employees are a bunch of teenagers. Employees pick and choose who should follow the house rules. Instead of helping people who don't know how to skate, they skate in front of them to cut them off and scare people. A lot of the guy employees who skate are aggressive for no reason. I would like to come here and feel like I could have a good time but every time I do come the same employees dog me or act aggressive for no reason. read more

We love Roller Kingdom! I've been coming here since I was a kid and although the carpet is the same as it was back then, they recently fixed the roller skating floor. There were some uneven sections in the back right hand corner but they fixed it and resurfaced the entire skating floor. Thursday night's is family night from 6:30-9pm. It's $6 for the head of the household and $3 for every family member after that. They rent skates but we were coming so much we all bought our own. All the items in the snack bar are reasonably priced and I like the salted pretzels with the spicy cheese. Sunday night's is adult skate from 7:30-10 for 18+. It's super fun and there is no better people watching I assure you! My only complaint is they rarely to never do reverse skate anymore. Come on Brad you are killing my trucks!
