This rink gas been around for decades. It is a very fun and family friendly place. Unlike the false review another user wrote stating that the boards on the floor were coming, this is not true as the floor doesn't have boards. Brad the owner is a great guy he has been putting in a lot of money upgrading the rink. And as to another false review the parking lot is not riddled with spent shell casings. The rental skates are in pretty decent condition. Also there is a pretty good selection of items available in the snack bar. They hardly ever run out of anything. The staff is super friendly even though most are working in their first job. But we all must start out somewhere. So treat them as you would treat yourself as a teen. I've been coming here since 1988. They are restoring it to its original glory. Oh also they have some pretty cool games for the kids , there is about 12 of them. And they are in perfect working condition, once in a blue moon one might need repair. But they are on it right away and fix them when need. read more

This place gets 3.5 stars. We really had a great time skating at this place today. It brought back so many memories and I was happy to create new ones with my own kids. I'm thankful that Roller Kingdom is open as it's the only game in town for indoor skating however it could use a bit of a facelift. The carpet, the arcade and snack bar and ticket booth have a tired appearance. The place could use a fresh coat of interior paint too. If they would invest a little to refresh its appearance I think it would revive the place. To get a return on their investment from improvements, I would recommend more family days during the summer months. Also their marketing could be improved. This place has so much potential! But if you simply like to skate and roll with friends and kids to music, this place will definitely work. We will come back for sure. read more

Where do I begin? I'll start with the nit picking first- The parking lot is littered with trash, homeless and pan handlers are loitering asking for money. Not the "employees job" what happens outside and making a safe environment for the customers. The building has a odor mixed with cheap cleaning products, stale air, and sweaty ass. Carpets and walls are stained and filthy... 1 Star for the rink to being not too bad. The music must be selected by 14 and a 60 year old. The skates/roller blades... are overly used, holes, wore out, uncomfortable, and they are complete garbage. The price, the food, the soda... is on a chunky cheese level. You pay for what you get! Now with this whole COVID-19 and face mask requirement.. This place is filled with Hispanics families not wearing their mask the whole time being there... 2 young girls (who are white) took a break from being on the roller rink and sat with their mother and took their mask off for a breather and to cool off.. and out of no where this self entitled arrogant ass starts coming off aggressive at them and overly offended cause the kiddos had their mask down under their chins (mind you he's not wearing his mask either!!!)... 2 minutes later employees had ZERO understanding and kicked the mom and 2 kids out... Yes I am going to be THAT guy to say it how it is- This place has racist & bias Hispanic employees.... I went up to the same employees and the so-called manager and I pointed out to them about ALL the others who weren't wearing their mask and asked why was the mom and 2 girls singled out only? and typical they refused to answer the question and got snappy with me (they didn't give a shit anyone else not wearing a mask)... I got my family and left. This place does NOT deserve your money, time, and business. I will give one star for the facility but that's all it gets. It seems to be recently renovated facility so that is nice. Now for the important part. The DJ and MUSIC were HORRIBLE!!! I have been to many skating rinks around the country, grew up and worked in one, and also competed in many competitions at roller rinks. So it breaks my heart when I see a skating rink ran this way. It was obvious that (like most rinks) the rink is family owned and the DJ is probably the direct owner or close to it. Therefore he feels that he knows what music is best. This is a common issue with a lot of rinks, but most eventually see this as an issue and make the appropriate changes. We were there for 2 hours and only 1 song was played that was even remotely from this generation. ONE SONG!!! This is the reason that roller rinks are viewed as aged and outdated. Roller rinks should be playing music from todays generation. Songs that people sing along to, dance to, and enjoy skating to. A skating rink is in a sense a "club". Without good music then everyone is just going to have a bad time. The last thing Ill say with the hope that the owners read this. Pay attention to your customers!! If you notice that you have multiple people skating with headphones because they would rather listen to their own music instead of listening to the garbage that you are playing, you should probably take note and address the problem. I have never seen this in any skating rink that I've EVER been to and just at your rink I noticed over 10 people with headphones!!! The only reason I believe they are even still in business is because they are the only roller rink within probably a 3 hour drive. With that said I hope that someone see's the potential for a new competitive business and builds a rink to show them how a skating rink should be ran. read more

I was so excited when I heard they were redoing this place! But come to find out it really hasn't changed much at all since I was a kid.... There's quite a bit of parking and didn't get too busy for a weeknight. There was even a little birthday party going on. The line inside needs some kind of organization because it was confusing having everyone just piled in there. The price was right at $3 a rental and $5 to rent the device to assist the little ones. Roller skates are $3 and if you need roller blades it's an extra $2. Of course it was fun bring hung the kids in and taking a trip down memory lane but there were a few issues. The minute we went to put skates on the kids and knelt down to put them on the floor was SOAKED. I don't know if they had just cleaned them or what but they were wet enough to leave marks on our jeans. The carpets haven't changed since I last remember which makes me wonder if they carpet clean them but why before they open? The bathrooms also have not changed and the larger stall had a broken door and the restroom had a very sticky floor. I did not see a changing table anywhere if you're bringing littles. I think the rink itself was redone but the games, carpet, tables, snack bar, etc all look exactly the same. But considering we don't have much of a choice for a skating rink in Reno it will do if he kids want to go read more

Too bad this place only has a 2 star rating! Five of us came here for a party that was actually meant for 10+ people. We had booked in advance, but since 5 of our party had flaked on us, we asked if it was possible to cancel our party. They were extremely accommodating (though it did take some begging). Our party was supposed to include a half sheet of cake, plus pizza and skating. Luckily, we were able to cancel the pizza and get some money back, but we paid for the cake, obviously. And since a half sheet was too much for 5 people, we ended up passing it out to the tens and twenties of kids that were around. I was actually surprised so many kids were there without their parents, but I guess it's a safe place for kids to hang out. The staff there was extremely friendly and helpful, and they were so awesome to give us some of our money back. The skates are a little old and ratty, but I honestly don't expect much from a skating rink. Bring back the 80's! read more

Went for a birthday party. Skating was fun. They didn't even clean the tables from the last birthday. It was gross.

We went here for a harvest celebration for our church. It was super fun and extremely family friendly. My kids were scared at first but got warmed up quickly. They have regular skates and roller blades. And for the tiny kids they have those little skates that go over their shoes. There is music, and a snack bar. Lots of arcade games too if you're not in to skating that much. I will DEFINITELY be coming here again and I will be recommending this place to my friends and family. 10/10 read more

They care more about their reputation than keeping their patrons safe. They went from having good security that would catch and get rid of the vapes that underage kids were bringing in, to firing said security for doing their job because "they were receiving too many complains from parents". Ya parents of kids that were getting caught with vapes and braking other rules they have posted and in place. Now kids are back to bringing in weed vapes, other types of vapes and other such things that underage youth shouldnt have in again and nothing is being done to stop it now. I went recently after the new upgrade, and the upgrade didn't make anything better. They changed to flooring to wooden panels. Whoever put in the flooring didn't do a good job because the floor is all types of lumpy. The new tables against the roller rink wall have a pole in the middle of the seat. In order to sit in close to watch your family, you have to lift your leg OVER the pole. Keep in mind that you're wearing roller skates, so your legs are a lot heavier than normal. Also, all that work for the upgrade and the ceiling tiles are still gross and dingy. AND THE KOALA ON THE BACK WALL STILL ISNT PAINTED IN. read more

My 6 years old niece and my mother came to visit us and my niece wanted to go roller skating. We don't really have experience taking our two kids roller skating before. I Googled and it looked like this is the only place in Reno. When we walked in, I asked if we can take a look inside since we can't see anything from the outside. (Mainly my mom and niece wanted to see the environment and of course I too.) A girl said only one person can go inside take a look which was wiered but we were okay with it. So I went in took a quick peek and thought was acceptable and not crowded at all. They open from 2:30 to 5 PM then close and reopen at 6PM. It was almost 4PM. Instead of going back at 6PM, we decided to enter. And we knew we need to hurry to get the kids ready. At the skate rental counter, we got skates for everyone but my niece's was too small. I took it back to the counter. I did see there was a return counter but since it was an exchange, I went to the front where we got it. When I passed the back counter, I made eye contact with the attendant sitting on the chair drinking his soda. After I was standing at front for at least 30 seconds, it didn't seem like the boy would stand up and come out help so I called out "hello?". Then he came out. I said, I need to exchange the size 13 to size 1. He looked at for a couple of seconds and told me to return the size 13 to the back. I said I am not returning it, I need to exchange. It is not hard for an adult to tell that young boy talking to me with addtutide maybe because I called him when he was taking a break? Anyway, I took the size 13 to the back and back to the front got the size 1. I just felt like so uncomfortable allowing a teenager treat me without any respect. So I said, you know what, I had to call you out and you gave me addtutide. It is really not cool. He laughed without caring said "it is the rule returning back there." Since he kept changeling me, I said should I talk to your manager? " Oh, yes, go ahead!". He even laughed again and went grabbed an elder boy out, the " manager " , I guess. Without reintroducing himself,without even asking me what happened or listening to me, he said" Ma'am, it is our rule to return the skates in the back!" Oh, really?! First, I did put it back!!! Second, when people try size, if not suitable, they need to return it to the the back and come back ask for the right size? I am not returning it after rolling! Third, did you even ask me why I asked to speak to you? Yes, it is your "rule" returning shoes to the back which I did already. Did you know I had to call your employee out to help? Did you know he talked to me without respect?! By the way, this so called "manager " is probably high school age too. Anyway, he started to tell me " you have to follow the rules " "my employees can take a break " "you need to come read the sign!" ..... Oh, my goodness! Those young kids really made me angry. I then said let me talk to someone else. You definitely don't know how to talk to customers as well. He said I am the manager. Nobody else here can talk to you. I said okay, then write down your name for me please. He said I don't have pen and paper. All those cost money! I was speechless already. Then I went talk to my husband who was inside with the kids already. I briefly told him the story and he said "let's leave. You can tell they are just teenager kids who work here for part time." Well, it is true but stilI wouldn't let those "kids" employees treat me without respect like this. At least treat your job like a job. Be responsible and respectful. People come there pay for family fun not to tolerate those unrepecful kids. It is nice that the owner provide the job opportunities for those young kids but definitely need to train them better. We planned to leave but when my husband went to the window listened a little bit of conversation between me and that so called manager, he got pissed off as well. We asked him give us refund! It is not about the money, it all about the bad experiences! My husband also asked him to write down the owner's name and his name. He finally did. Maybe he saw my husband started to take it seriously. His name is Julian. I heard that there is another place called LOOP opening soon. I came here with my brother because we bought a $10 Groupon deal for a skate session, pizza, and soda. This was my first time and I didn't have any sentimental attachment to the Roller Kingdom, which is probably why I felt the way I did about this place. I hated it. The music was somehow a mix of jams that came straight from my middle school memories even though a 15 yr old kid was DJing. Stuff like Boys Like Girls, Panic! At The Disco, Jason Derulo pre-Jordan Sparks, and LMFAO before anyone thought the nephew-uncle dynamic was weird blared through the speakers and it just made me SAD. It was such a strange setting to be in and I felt like I was hyper-aware of every clump of middle school girls around me. I'm pretty sure I witnessed a social massacre of a girl who accidentally bumped into one of the "cool kids." Also, they only have slices of pepperoni here which was not mentioned in the Groupon. The only reason for the three stars is because skating is a blast! To be honest, this place is run down and needs some serious attention. Dear owner, If you're not going to spend the money to update the place, you can at least make sure the place is clean and well maintained. Most of the skates are old, tattered, and just need to be tossed in the trash. The positive things are that this is a very reasonably priced activity and so much fun. I used to skate a lot when I was younger so the experience is very nostalgic. I've taken my daughter twice now and both times I smiled from ear to ear practically the entire time! It was 8.50 for the both of us and that included skates. If you want a locker which I recommend (who wants to carry a purse around while skating) it will cost you an additional .50. What a deal! In summary, this is a lot of fun and I will cherish the quality time spent with my daughter here. However, if there was a nicer place I would prefer to go there, but for the price you can't beat it! I haven't been here since the 6th grade and now I'm 37. It was like walking into the past! I don't think they've changed the carpet on the walls or updated a single thing in this place, including the skates. We took our 4 year old and he had a good time. But, almost none of the games were working and they find a way to charge for EVERY little thing. It's $5 to use a walker type thing to help you skate. You can't bring in any outside food and the options they have here are garbage! It would be nice to be able to bring in your own sandwiches or salads if you don't want bowling alley food! The service at the snack bar was ATROCIOUS we ordered two corndogs, nachos, and a soda, the soda was flat and when we asked for a different flavor the children behind the counter didn't want to accommodate. Then when they finally got us another soda it was also flat. The corn dogs took half an hour when 6 people were behind the counter not doing anything. After watching the fryer change from "End" to "Idle" it sat for another 10 minutes... Aside from the snack bar the people working were all very rude and had no customer service skills what so ever! In fact one kid flat out refused to serve me rather then fixing the mistake. He handed my burnt corndogs I handed him off to another employee with the words "I don't want to do this" and walked away. First - let me say that Roller Kingdom is the only indoor public skating rink around. So there are not any alternatives to provide competition to this rink as incentive to keep things on good side. I have been coming to Roller Kingdom for at least the past 4 years now. It has not changed one bit since day one. It is okay. Simply that. I have seen slightly better skating rinks in my day, but this one is just below average. The rink itself needs to be redone. There are several spots on the rink that are bumpy and have some sort of candy/gum residue. The carpet is very old and as well has lots of candy/gum residue, but I suppose this cannot be helped considering this venue draws lots of kids/families that are not as careful as they should be. There are lockers available for use (coin operated), but most people just use the lockers and do no pay, instead they just take the risk of no one getting into their stuff. There is a small seating area to be able to consume the concessions. Standard concessions are available at a reasonable price (pizza, cotton candy, soda, etc). As well there are several arcade games available for pay to play. If you want to have a birthday party, there are a few private rooms available. Big enough for about 12 people. RK does have coupons regularly in the cards tossed out to the local driveways. Though the admission prices are pretty reasonable. Even less more so if you bring your own skates/blades. The rental skates could use some serious maintenance. typically the laces are broken and will not lace all the way up. the wheels and bearings need to be cleaned and or replaced. check their website, since they do have specials almost daily (wed family night, sunday night adult only, etc). In general it is a great family outing at a good price. But the facility could use some serious maintenance. I will continue to come here, but only because it is the only one around. read more

How much can you really expect from a roller rink? Well whatever your lowest expectations are take them and cut them in half! The general concept is simple, take a smooth floor mix in flashing lights and loud music then add roller skaters and presto you have a roller rink. Shouldn't be very difficult. At Roller Kingdom they put together this basic formula about a 100 years ago then found the least ambitious teenage workforce available and never cleaned or replaced anything again. I was happy at first, finding activities for under $5 per person isn't always easy. Then we walked in and I asked for skates for my 2 year old niece. The girl at the skate counter barely took a glance before determining that the only skates left in her size were mismatched with velcrow that no longer adhered; if I hadn't watched her pull them out from behind the counter I would've thought she dug them out of the dumpster. I pointed out the baby skates they had on the counter in the back room but she said they weren't available. At this point my other niece and friend had already laced up so I took the broken down garbage skates to prevent any meltdowns. My friend showed up with her 2 year old 20 minutes later and they gave her the skates I had pointed out. (Insert furious face emoji) I decided I'd confront the situation at the end as to not interrupt the fun of children. When I did go out to find someone/anyone to talk to about the skates there was no one to be found, I could have walked out with all of our skates and no one would have known the difference. I went in with low expectations, there really wasn't much I wanted from this place. Roller kingdom has been around for years! It is a great place to go with children who want to learn new experiences. A couple weeks ago I went here for the first time in 15 years. It is exactly the same as what it look like back then. The pricing is fairly decent for what they're asking for but I went on school out time. It was from 1 to 4 Monday through Friday for $4.75. There was an extra two dollar fee for rollerblades. The staff is very nice and friendly, they play games and play music. You may request a song with the DJ. The only problem with that is they may not have some songs that you request. As for a lockers, there is a bunch. From what it looks like they are $.50 a locker. This is definitely worth it to keep your items safe and protected! I did not get a locker, so I am unsure of how it works. The roller Kingdom has other activities for children to do. What I mean by other activities is there is games that the children can play and win tickets. By the entrance and exit doors there is a section for ticket items that you can choose from! I noticed on Thursday night is family night. As of right now it's six dollars for head of household and $2.50 for every other member and your family after that. On their flyer it states that roller skates are included. The reason why I gave it a two star is because it feels a little hot in the building and doesn't seem to have fresh air, and the same material (that is covered in carpet) has been there for years which is torn and needs to be repaired. And as for their skates they make your feet stink really really really bad afterwards. I'm not sure if they clean them or spray something or put baby powder in them after use. My child attended a birthday party here. It started at 1:00, we got to the check in window at 12:59 and they refused to even speak to us until it was 1:00, once inside they put us in the wrong party room and kicked us out 5 minutes later. When we got to our actual party room they did not have it ready, no utensils or plates, they did not give us our pizza or drinks until the last 20 minutes in the room, we were kicked out of the room by a rude customer screaming obscenities at a bunch of children and the staff did nothing. We received the cake at the same we received the 5 minute warning to leave the party room. They still didn't bring the utensils or cake cutter with it and party guests had to find them in cabinets and distribute them themselves. We had to eat cake and open presents on the carpeted bench where you change your shoes while the rude woman continued to flip us off and mouth words at us through the window, staff still did not intervene. The staff was overbooked on parties and unprepared, and ruined an 11 year olds birthday party with their lack or accommodation or intervention. The birthday girl and also an another guest at the party were diabetic and needed the private room to receive insulin shots and needed their food on time. Horrible experience overall. We Attended a Party there where they put us in the wrong party Room before switching us to the right room that was not ready. We did not receive the pizza or drinks we ordered with the room until the last 20 mins, then they didn't bring us our cake until the last 5 telling us the next party needs this room in 5 mins. They kicked us out as a belligerent violent woman from the next party screamed vulgar obscenities at us in front of dozens of small children all around. The Birthday Girl is a Type 1 Diabetic, she has a very short time she has to eat her pizza and cake before needing her insulin shot. We were forced to watch her eat her cake on the carpet bench in the corner as no other tables or rooms were provided. We were punished for poor time management and planning skills my the management of this place. Ruining a 10 year olds birthday party. My daughter was taking my grandson to the Roller Kingdom and asked me to bring her younger brother. My son has Down syndrome and generally has a hard time Skating. I noticed that someone had some contraption that looked almost like a walker with Wheels. I was able to rent one for $5 and it was a godsend. This allowed my son to be able to skate safely. The only issue with this I had was that they only had a handful to rent out. They should have more available with the number of people that show up. My grandson and my daughters step daughters could have used one but there were no more available. So they all shared. A few issues I had with the roller rink itself was the flooring had some serious dips in it. A couple of times my son would get stuck in these dips and would be unable to get out. Someone would have to rescue him and pushed him out of the hole. I think it may be time to fix this problem. Another problem was the snack bar. It seemed that every time someone would request something they were out of it. A lot of people were asking for sprite or 7Up and they had neither. They didn't even have Diet Coke or Pepsi seems like all they had was dr. Pepper or Diet dr. Pepper. A person behind me requested nachos and they had run out. The family time skate was open from 1 to 5 and it was only about 2:30. This appears to be either a ordering issue or an i don't care attitude. They didn't have much to offer anyway. My suggestion would be to make some adjustments to the rink as well as the snack bar. Other than that the kids had a good time. We will come back in the future. read more

We were here for a birthday party, and they messed up royally. They gave our reserved (which was done a month ago) room away and then moved us to a substantially smaller room with a lot of excuses. And when we started moving our things, while our hands were full of things, they told us the room wasn't available yet. And then said we had "misunderstood." Very unprofessional. Very poorly managed. We ended up having the party--30 of us--at the snack tables. Then the manager offered to give us our original room back, saying she'd "bump them out." This is a Great 5 star Roller Rink with Great Staff. Me and my family and friends come here weekly and the last few weekends they have had a new female DJ by the name is Tristina. The Crowd I've noticed has been on the floor more and enjoy skating to her music. I am glad they have somebody that knows what we like and listen to today. Management is great but the only 1 star I would give is on the heavy set Manager who works usually Saturday nights. She is very unprofessional, very judge mental, seems racist and extremely rude. I think she should definitely get talked to about her professionalism and learn how to approach and talk to Customers but other then that the rink is Great. I love and enjoy coming here and skating at Roller Kingdom. The Sunday Night Adult nights are also GREAT. The DJ who happens to be the Owner is awesome I bout a pair of skates a few weeks ago and he gave me a great deal. I love to see owners mingling and running a great business the way he does but I would definitely have a meeting or a talk with staff and Management about Professionalism and how they should and need to treat Customers and think of a more professional way to approach people esp the Dress codes read more

So we came here for the schools family skate night fundraiser. The wifeski bought a pizza for the kids, and even though I had extremely low expectations, it was not bad, by that I mean better than Chuck E Cheese, or Little Caesar, but hey for Roller Rink pizza, what a surprise! read more
