Great burgers, friendly family-run cafe on the outskirts of Point Arena.

Although the appearance is a little concerning, you'll get a good meal at the Rollerville. We ate an evening meal and a breakfast. For the evening meal, my wife had a big salad with chicken chunks on it and cruets of balsamic oil and vinegar for a dressing on the side -- she reported that it was pretty good, but she liked more variety in her lettuce. I had fish and chips which were pretty much excellent -- firm white meat (nominally cod) with a big pile of french fries and an asian-style slaw. The deep frying was perfect and the food not oily at all. Another morning we had breakfast and simply could not eat it all -- they know how to put eggs, bacon and hash browns on the table! Service was fast and friendly. I can recommend this cafe. Better by far than you might think. read more

This place was really, really good. Stopped by with my wife on a Friday for lunch. Definitely cozy inside, but not busy. Friendly service and huge portions. The frickles (fried pickles) were awesome. Burgers were great, and so were the fries. It was sort of funny hearing locals talk about how hot it was. (I think it hit 70 that day). Oh, to live on the coast. Me experience here was very underwhelming. The service was extremely slow especially considering there were two waitresses and only us and one other table occupied. The clam chowder was very good and their chai shake was good but my main course left a lot to be desired considering the price. I had the cream cheese and jalapeño burger which was dominated by a huge chunk of cold cream cheese and every bite the cream cheese seemed to dominate the flavor. Not to mention the fries that I swear must have been from Costco. I had heard good things about this place which might have gotten my hopes up, but my experience was not particularly memorable. read more

We have had the pleasure of dining at this great cafe on several occasions...each time was just a wonderful experience. This last week was no exception! Everyone there is so friendly and such a pleasure to visit with. The food itself is marvelous! Their hamburgers, made with great beef without antibiotics, are truly the best I've ever had anywhere. Having a breakfast there is a delight beyond words...just great...through some kind of serendipity, I ordered the "special" of the day featuring chicken apple sausage, eggs, hash browns...but instead (through a comical misreading of the order), I received a chicken fried steak and eggs. Oh wow! What a perfectly cooked meal that was! I was sooooo glad for the mistake, and will order that meal the next time. It was delicious!! We all had a good laugh, and the waitress only charged me for the special and not the slightly higher price for the order I received. Do not miss visiting this great place if you go to Pt. Arena!!! Today's lunch special is a Ruben. I love Rubens and it was truly the BEST I have ever enjoyed. The corned beef was melt in your mouth delicious! The sandwich was HOT throughout. All ingredients were high quality. The side salad with blue cheese dressing was a good match. Alicia warned me its big enough for 2 but my husband is not a fan so I'm taking half home. This is our favorite spot for breakfast but we will now make a special point of coming for lunch, too! read more

This is a great little place. The food is super tasty. Service is fast and super friendly. The only draw back ... it is small and limited parking. Other than that we ALWAYS go here and over the years have never been disappointed. We camp near by and sometimes have even gone for both breakfast and lunch. I love coming here for breaskfast. I enjoy cooking, but this place is so delcious and quick it's hard to turn it down. We live 10 minutes away and I come here as often as I can. They are quick, friendly and delcious. I cannot ever get enough of the hash browns and my bofriend has trouble every time between the chicken fried steak and eggs, or the eggs Benedict when that's an option (weekends only I think? , come early because they have run out before :) I love the feeling of this place, the decor is terrible but that gives it some of its charm. Who cars how it looks on the inside or outside of that small building/house/cafe, the food is the best in the area!! read more

Took my daughter and her boyfriend here for lunch. He loves fish and chips from the East coast so we needed to try it here. He LOVED it better than the best he ever had on the East coast. He and I both had the lunch size portion. The fish was not over coated with batter and were large pieces. They were crisp but not over crisp where it would hurt the roof of your mouth. Cooked perfectly along with the chips part. The coleslaw was really tasty and freshly made. I am not usually a coleslaw person but liked the one from Rollerville Cafe very much. Also a couple years back my other daughter and I had the seafood platter and that was the best ever as well. Good job here and will be returning. read more

Great "diner" style breakfast and attentive staff!

We were thrilled to be able to come back here after almost 2 years. It is always that place we refer to when talking about the best meals we've ever had. The great news is that they are STILL putting out the best meals we've ever had!!! We rolled through (no pun intended) on a Saturday morning near the end of their breakfast service and ordered the eggs benny and corned beef hash (again). Both were AMAZING...AGAIN!!! Everything was perfectly cooked. The (homemade) hash had some great flavor from the grill that you just can't duplicate at home and the corned beef was shredded to a melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The eggs benny had that fantastic taste of lemon that we remember from before...in fact I had some lemon zest caught in my teeth...a sign that they're squeezing and zesting their own lemons as part of the homemade hollandaise. THANK YOU to the family that (still) runs this place....PLEASE keep it going! We look forward to the next time...and everytime...that we'll get to visit! read more

All in All, the Rollerville Cafe in Point Arena is one place not to miss. Located on Highway 1 in one of the most scenic areas in all of California, you have to be on the lookout for this place or you will drive right by it. As you go North out of Point Arena you will reach the turn off to the Point Arena Light House. Right on the corner is where you will find this cafe. This is a casual place with great 'comfort' food and bar food choices. I ate my second best Reuben at Rollerville. I had alot of meat sauerkraut and cheese and was on great rye bread with just the right amount of dressing. I have also had the fish and chips and it is some of the best ever. We have been to this restaurant several times for lunch with our children and enjoyed it. The fish tacos are my favorite as you can have the fish sauteed or tempura batter fried (I prefer sauteed, it's nice to have a choice). They come with a spicy Asian coleslaw that is delicious. The children liked their burgers (which are huge) and my husband thought the fish and chips were tasty. They are open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Sunday, until 2:00 pm. They are only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday (until 7:00 pm). My only caveat: there is a bit of a walk to get to the restroom around back. read more

A really GOOD casual little place; nothing fancy but very clean and with very pleasant servers, a GREAT COOK and VERY GOOD QUALITY food. We looked at the plates served to others and they all looked scrumptious. My wife had the very best Fish and Chips she's ever had - and I had a burger that was perfectly cooked to my order! We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was for something along such a remote stretch of highway. We wish to let the owners know that all their hard work is very much appreciated. We agree with all the positive 4 & 5 star reviews posted here. And we will absolutely return on our next trip up the coast. We wouldn't miss it! We now make Rollerville Cafe our lunch place when we stay in Gualala. I can still taste the fish and prawn tacos in my mind. Just the right spiciness. We get them pan fried. The service is friendly and efficient. The place is family run and the chef (one of the daughters) went to the culinary school in SF. read more

Amazing. Angus burger with cheddar is quite possible the best burger ever. And the fried pickles are delicious.

We usually have breakfast and this little diner in the middle of nowhere. But a little known secret, they have killer prime rib Friday and Saturday nights.We love the food and try to visit it went we are camping in Manchester two or three times a year. read more

Stopped in for clam chowder after driving out to visit the lighthouse in Point Arena. Found a cozy table beside the window in the small dining room. The server was friendly and took our order promptly, but we waited quite awhile for the food to arrive, the place filling up as we waited. My veggie sandwich on sourdough was fresh and delicious, juicy cucumber and just the right amount of pesto. The chowder was thick and hit the spot, but could have been better with a little less salt. My husband's burger was excellent, perfectly cooked, with a nice green salad on the side. I'd recommend this place for lunch or breakfast, but don't be in a hurry. read more

Stopping here for breakfast on our last day of vacation had been planned for weeks, partially due to good reviews. We were seated by a young man, who while efficient at setting the table, was silent and didn't respond at all to our thank yous & expressions of appreciation. Our order was taken in a timely manner by a woman, who also gave no reply or acknowledgement of our thanks, in fact she purposely stared out the window the whole time she recited the specials & took our orders. There was absolutely no eye contact whatsoever. The food itself was nothing special, I had eggs benedict and it was basically tasteless but I salvaged it with salt & pepper. My son & husband had what was purported to be NY steak & eggs. They reported it as dry & tasteless & it looked more like a flank steak than NY, to me. I was never offered more coffee and the check was brought, again without smiles or any nicety as would be expected in a hospitality/service situation. Needless to say, we were left feeling less than satisfied with the meal & extremely unwelcome as "tourists", as there was no attempt from service staff to be polite & gracious but I noticed the rude waitress making nice with all the locals. Also - I wish I could take back $8 of the $9 tip my husband told me he left the waitress...but too late now. read more

Hungry after a hike, we came to Rollerville Cafe for lunch based on the Yelp reviews. We ordered the fish tacos and the apple burger. Fish tacos were greasy, the cabbage slaw topping was good, but way too much in proportion to the fish. Apple burger was bland, needed salt and pepper. The "apple" in the apple burger was diced apple pieces mixed in the patty. Didn't do much for taste or flavor. Portion size was good. Overall average food. read more

Charming local diner with alright food and wonderful staff? Yes. Wandered in on an early Sunday morning for breakfast on our way through Point Arena.. (also the only place open for breakfast within 20 miles at the time) We had the french toast combo which was pretty eh, sausage a over cooked/overall a bit bland. Also had the biscuits and gravy which were fantastic! Definitely recommend for a worthy diner experience. Would stay clear of chai latte, watery and not my favorite. Would most likely not return given the option of other breakfast venues, but otherwise lovely helpful people! read more

Ordered Denver Omlete, huge chunks of tasty ham, egg whites available, normal regular store bought bread. Good portions. Shredded hashbrowns were cooked well, dark brown on the outside and crunchy. Great cook. They were willing to serve us breakfast during lunch (it was slow). I would eat here again. Coffee was good too, not earth shattering, but hot and my mug never got past half...good service. read more

Great little breakfast/ lunch diner. It is part of a gold crown time share resort. Terrific breakfasts and the best angus beef burger around. A bit pricey but most people are very happy. The homemaid deserts are not as great as touted, but ok. They tend to nickle and dime you on any substitutions. i would go there again however. read more

This is a weird place. Has a real twilight zone kind of vibe. The food-.... not very good at all. Every time we go hoping it will be better. But it is not. Up there by Point Arena it is one of only a couple places to try and get a hot breakfast. And it is so expensive. I got a Belgian waffle, and it was like a hubcap. and about as delicious. my wife ordered the pancakes. they were so BIG, yet tasted like sawdust. Bacon was soggy. They make "Espresso" drinks which I tried on my first ill- fated visit years ago. Apparently when this "craze" started they bought a machine hoping to cash in. And then never learned how to USE IT. Awful mochas. The staff is WEIRD and always acts like you are barging in on their personal home kitchen looking for handouts. I have never felt welcome here or well cared for as a patron. It is a small café so that adds to the feeling. The owner? maybe has the place covered in her hobby paintings and is more interested in talking about those than running a restaurant in my opinion. DISCLAIMER I have only tried breakfast here. maybe lunch is MAGICAL.. but I will never find out. the girl who waited on us last week was up for server of the century....Not. Interesting collection of bobble headed toys lining the window... To quote my wife - if you like LOTS of FOOD , but don't care how it tastes. you are in business. read more
