I had their chicken and veggie taco with a spicy margarita. The chicken taco had a nice spicy kick, enough to tingle on the tongue without sacrificing flavor, but the vegetarian taco was my favorite! This place is in a prime spot on the top floor of the building down at Point Arena pier. We came to an early dinner on Friday at around 5pm and it was dead, but by the time we left people were filling in the outdoor seats and a musician was setting up his instruments. My mom and I both ordered the fish and chips and we were so pleased! The batter on the fish was so crispy and delicious!! The service staff was also very friendly and fast. My only complaint was the basic frozen French fries were not on the same level as their fish. I would definitely come back though because it was a huge portion, great for the price. read more

New owners, so we thought we would give it a try. It states fine dining on their sign. Open for 12-3 fri to mon was what greeted us. Hmmmm. We walked into the restaurant, and were greeted with grab a menu and order over here, said the gal behind the bar. Ok, so we ordered and paid for our meal, and had a seat. It was quiet as there was no one in the place, but as it became more busy, the noise reached a crescendo where we could not hear each other talk. The tablecloth had a sheet of glass over it, lending again to the fine dining. Our clam chowders were served by a super nice young man, who was attentive and helpful. Clam chowder was pretty good, although it was served in a cardboard container and not close to hot. Out came the beet salad and order of fish and chips(onion rings instead of fries). The beet salad was very nice, and good size for the price. The fish and chips was a good size as well, 4 pieces. The batter was tasty, the fish was done inside, and they were hot. The onion rings were ok, except the onion couldn't be bitten through, it came out of the breading with the first bite. It was ok if you are expecting a quick bite in the pier. I am not sure I would come back for a full dinner. If they serve dinner? There is a pizza place downstairs and a coffee shop with sandwiches if you need choices after looking at the menu. Everything about this place was great. The decor, plants, and lights made for a great setting. The service was all great. Most importantly, the food was excellent. Our fish and chips portions were huge, you really could easily share. Someone at our table had the tacos and they were super good. The outdoor seating was full though. I got the rockfish which has a very mild flavor, but they added veggies and sauce for more flavor. Fish was tender and not dry. Service is very friendly. The food is mediocre bowling alley food at best, at the price of a Michelin star restaurant. You order everything (food and drinks) at the bar, pay upfront, and they bring it to you. They write about their 1800s Bavarian bar on their website, with barstools in the pictures, but in reality you can't sit at the bar. The view for sunset on the outdoor patio is great though. I'd go for a beer again (Pliny the Elder on tap is a win!), but get your food elsewhere if you can. read more

This restaurant is tucked away in a beautiful cove overlooking the ocean. They are located on the 2nd story of the building with a few businesses below. When you walk in, go straight to the bar where you order your food and drinks. They have open seating with beautiful views of the ocean. Food: 7.5/10 Fish tacos - the fish was soft/flakey and cooked to perfection. The veggies on top were an interesting touch, more than I'm used to, but they tasted good. The homemade tortilla shockingly held together under the weight of the huge tacos. Very good portion size! 6/10 Oysters and Chips - let me say that the fry on the oysters and chips was perfect! The breading and tartar sauce was flavorful and tangy. I give the 6/10 because when oysters are cooked they tend to be mushy and creamy, which was an odd texture change with the fried outing. 8/10 Clam Chowder - served hot, peppery with no skimping on the clams or veggies. We were recommended this place by a local and was intrigued by their pet friendly patio! Although it was chilly outside, the views were worth it. We ordered our food inside by the bar and our food was delivered to us super quickly! The fish and chips were a hefty portion and was accompanied by a creamy coleslaw and crispy fries. This place was in walking distance of our hotel. It's located on the water with great views. The service is friendly and dining room is clean with lots of chatter happening among the locals and other tourists. They don't have a full bar but had some tasty cocktails made with Sake and have beer and wine options. The food was pretty darn good. Only complaints we had was our calamari had nice pieces on top but what looked like the bottom of the bag crumbles underneath and the Cesar salad (not pictured, unfortunately) had too little of dressing. We could have asked for more but by that point we were stuffed and wanted to save room for our dessert. The food runners were timely and served with a smile. On a little road trip down highway 1, we decided to stop here for lunch. The restaurant itself is a little hidden and you cant see it from the highway. Once your GPS shows that you are nearing, slow down to make sure that you turn in to the right spot. There is plenty of parking once you get there. Pier Place is on the second floor, there are other shops/restaurants in the building. There was an elevator to get to the second floor, but the door to the room where the elevator was didn't open (I don't know if there is a trick to it, or it just wasn't working). There are stairs that lead you upstairs. Outdoor and indoor seating is available. We timed our lunch to avoid the lunch crowd, and went later, a little past 2 pm on a Saturday. There was a decent amount of people eating but luckily we were able to secure seating outside under the shade of their patio umbrella. It was beautiful day and the views are awesome! You order and pay for your food at the bar, get a number and they will bring you your food to your table. The water tastes good and it comes in a cute little mason jar with a handle. I ordered Prawns and Chips. My friends ordered their Fritto Misto, Clam Chowder, Caesar Salad, Double Fish Tacos and Garlic Bread. We didn't have to wait long for our food to come out. The presentation and how the food was plated looked great, but none of us were impressed with the taste of the food itself. It was just okay. My friend almost always orders a Caesar Salad at every restaurant that offers it and she said that something was lacking, the flavor just wasn't there. The breading of my prawns looked different then what I am used to, but same as my friend, it was missing something....seasoning? The prawns were big and I ate them all, with most of my fries and I was stuffed. Strangely and good for us was that there wasn't any seagulls outside trying to get leftover scraps of food. I asked one of the staff members and she said that we got lucky since normally they like to make their presence seen and heard. Bathrooms are super clean and beautiful! The food was good - I had the clam chowder and the family shared the calamari. Another person in the group have the fish and chips and they enjoyed it. I didn't like is that not all the food came out at the same time so we weren't able to eat at the same time (don't want cold chowder). The dining area isn't super big but they have a nice outdoor patio that is dog friendly. I'm so glad I was able to visit this wonderful restaurant on a Friday night with views of the Pacific Ocean right from the pier there was a live band playing jazz music and the drinks and the food was good. We ordered a couple of beers and a Caesar salad and some chowder. Got a chance to meet the owner and her dad. They both are very pleasant and welcoming. I loved my meal at Pier Place! I had onion rings as an appetizer and then the Beef Quesadilla as my entree. The onion rings were light, crispy and delicious, and the Ranch dipping sauce was perfect. My quesadilla was so good! The meat has a great flavor, they're cheesy, and are served with a yummy avocado cream sauce. But the star of the dish in my opinion are the tortillas! They are thick, perfectly grilled and taste homemade! I also enjoyed a refreshing strawberry lemonade. You order your meal at the bar, then choose your seating. Came here twice in one day. For lunch we had clam chowder with fish and chips. It was so delicious we decided to come back for more clam chowder, but this time we got it with their garlic bread and the rock fish plate with rice. All so delicious! Service was great both times. A line forms quickly, and while there were multiple staff behind the bar, only one was waiting on people in the line while the other was disinterested.
