Amazing! My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday as a surprise and it was a wonderful experience! The staff is super friendly and you can tell that they really love their animals and property! My favorite part was getting to meet the horses! They each have their own quirks and personalities, but are extremely docile and masterfully trained! We took an hour ride around the vineyard while learning more about the history of the place, looking at some handmade art, and overall enjoying the beautiful day. The ride was easy for the horse and relaxing for the rider! All COVID safety precautions were in place and there's even a wash station set up with everything that you might need! The great things about this place are as follows: 1- It's a woman owned local business. 2- They care deeply about their horses and make sure you are able to ride them safely. 3- You get a little mini lesson in horsemanship as you ride. It's MUCH more interactive than a typical trail ride. I felt like my horse, Blossom, actually responded to me (and my mistakes!) rather than the robotic, completely desensitized horses at some other places. 4- You get a really lovey tour of the vineyard. Loved our day with Rollin Ranch! The ride is through a beautiful family owner vineyard and ranch that has been in the family for generations. It is a private and intimate experience. The horses are clearly happy and very well taken care of! We were the 2nd day back since the ranch reopened during COVID and felt incredibly safe the entire time. We wore masks entering the property, were 6 ft apart the entire time, and were able to take off our masks once we were safely distanced during our ride. We visited while in town for a Father's Day mini-break weekend. What a great find! Nancy is a fantastic guide and experience leader, Melissa was friendly and super helpful, and we absolutely loved the relaxed and happy horses. My 11-year-old son had never ridden before, and this was the best possible first horseback riding experience for him; Nancy and Melissa were encouraging, and his horse was very chill (but not half-asleep!). He had to learn as he went, and Nancy was a great teacher. The surprise for me was the content of the tour -- I was expecting to just have a nice horseback ride in a pretty area, but I was really impressed with Nancy's presentation of the history and context of the vineyard and other aspects of the property. Took two of my kids here today. We had an amazing time. Melissa checked us in and helped make sure our helmets fit. Then Nancy and Melissa got us up on our horses. It was great going around Nancy's property and hearing her stories. We will be checking out Buena Vista's Sheriffs wine. As well as De Loach's Pinot Noir. Both use grapes from the ranch. This is the best experience I've had during COVID. Due to the strict restrictions in CA, things to do in the bay area are very limited. We found Rollin F Ranch and made a reservation on their website very easily. Nancy welcomed us at the gate and showed us where to park. After we parked, Nancy introduced the horses to us. The horses were incredibly sweet and gentle (they loved being petted). The ride was beautiful and Nancy told us about the interesting projects and wildlife around the ranch. We as a family went there on Sunday afternoon on our way back to the bay area after our thanksgiving trip. When we arrived there 30 minutes late, Nancy was already sitting at the entrance way waiting in her cowgirl hat. She smiled just like the warm winter sunshine and was very easy to talk with. Throughout the hour Nancy showed us the orange poisonous mushroom, the little creek, art works by her son, and vineyard. There was a lot of knowledge in the guided tour. My 7 year old and 12 year old handled their horse easily for the whole hour after the mini-course upfront. The horses are big but gentle and would never run, which I felt very safe. At the end, she surprised us with the extra treat: we got to feed the horses we rode on. The horses are beautiful and well taken care of, feeding them even showed us some individual personality of them. This was hands down one of the best trail rides I've ever been on! We were greeted by Melissa who showed us where to park and lead us to our horses. She and her mother in law Nancy were very kind and made sure that we fully understood how to steer and helped us to build a connection with each of our horses before getting on. All of the horses were very sweet and the trail ride itself went very smooth! We were able to see the vineyard, lush greenery, wine antiques, and even a red tailed hawk! Jewel was my horse, she was big, strong and so gorgeous, and she actually listened to my commands!! This is the new spot in Sonoma County to ride horses. We decided to call this place last minute even though there wasn't any yelp reviews since this is a new establishment. We arrived about an hour before our appointment and the host, Nancy, was very accommodating. She let us take pictures with the horses and pet them while she set up. This was probably the best part since we got to bond with the horses. For the tour you go around her 38 acre property which includes vineyards and oak trees. If you want the full "Sonoma County" experience with the wine grapes and overall nature feel then this is it. They do take credit card so no need to bring cash except for the tip. My family and I had a wonderful trail ride at the Rollin Ranch! This was the first time that my kids (ages 7 and 10) had ridden a horse. Everyone was so patient and kind to them, allowing them to meet their horses and get comfortable before we started our trail ride.
