I hired this contractor to remove the old carpet and install new travertine tile in my living room. Unfortunately, the quality of the installation was disappointing. The slope of the new tile is uneven some areas are lower and some are higher than the existing tile. When I brought this up, the owner told me that it couldn't be done any better, which was even more frustrating. HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE! Moe, the owner is a terrible person! I ordered and paid for $33,000 of cabinets back in October of 2022, cabinets were installed with many errors and I was promised daily that it would be done perfectly and "next week or the following week" to no avail. He had a million excuses and I as never friendly. Moe even complained about all the trips his installers had to make and how much money he paid out for the mistakes his guys made. Meaning he complained to me as if it was my fault. It bothered me as a business owner myself but let it go bc I believed in the end he would come through. The cabinets are still not finished and there are so many errors. I reached out again to find out when they were going to finish and Moe lashed out at me and told me if I contacted him I would have problems. He told me he would not be finishing the job and not to contact him again. Not sure what can be done about this but I'm distraught about it. Can't find another dealer for my cabinets nearby. I'm highly stressed. I've waited a full year +! I cannot believe this. I'm a single mother of five. Their only parent. I gave him every last dollar I had and thought I was doing business with a reputable company. I spent $50k on my countertops and install and 30k on my tile with them. I'm appalled. Spent over 100k with this company only to be treated this way. I'm reporting them to the BBB and posting my story every where. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ROMA FLOORIMG & DESIGNS! So many more problems and I was so nice and was going through SO MUCH in the thick of it. 6 surgeries from an accident which made this so much worse. Heavy regret using Roma. My wife and I just recently finished a major home remodel. It can be a very pain staking and trying process. There are many showrooms off State College Blvd. to choose from. Lets hope this review saves your hard earned money from Roma Flooring in Anaheim. During Covid pandemic last year we remodeled our home like many others. Found Roma while driving on State College. Checked his Yelp and there were mixed reviews and I can tell you AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 1st red flag Moe the owner was arguing with customer on the phone while I waited to talk to him. He explained it was an unreasonable buyer so I gave him a pass and proceeded to do business. We were putting beautiful Italian tile in our 1200 sqft home and was quoted $14000. After demolition they found plywood that needed to be replaced in the kitchen. They verified the subfloor was good and charged an extra $1000 for labor and maybe 6 sheets of 4x8 plywood before sheets of plywood were $90 each!! Paid it no questions asked. Moe explicitly said if tiles come loose he will send the crew to fix to justify his pricing. I took him at his word. Fast forward a couple months and some tiles are loose and missing grout. I was patient with Moe to send out his subcontractor who secured a couple tiles and added grout in a few places. He told us to call back if anything else was loose I've contacted Moe regarding other loose tiles and he originally said he would send guys outz. It's all documented in writing through text messages. He changed his stance and refuses to help me and is blaming my subfloor? If there was a problem with the subfloor shouldn't he or the subcontractors brought that too my attention before laying all of the tile? More tiles have become loose and it's embarrassing. I've been too patient and trying to be reasonable with Moe doesn't work. Moe should step up and do what's right and what he originally promised. Great at taking your money and making all the promises in the world to get your sale. But once you are parted with your money, say goodbye to any updates, no follow-up and don't expect delivery to be on time. I stumbled upon this place after going to so many places here in the area. I came in still pretty confused about what exactly I wanted. Cameron, one of the people that work there, started to make it easier for me when he broke down what to look for. He patiently guided my wife and I step by step to feel more confident about what we were selecting. 5/2017 PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE REVIEW. Honestly guys, just trying to save you the STRESS I am continuing to go through with this guy. Typical bait and switch scheme? I ordered and PAID IN ADVANCE for EXPENSIVE, high quality Durango (even brought in a sample of what I wanted), but what I received was a mixed lot of 2 types of standard travertine. I felt pressured by Moe to take it out of his supply area (it was bound by plastic straps and wrapped in plastic so I couldn't get a good look), but he wouldn't accept the return just an hour later (after I got it home and showed it to my tile contractor). Remember, I didn't change my mind on this; seems he tried to cheat me by switching out a lesser product, hoping I'd just run with it since it was time for installation. (First question he asked me when I showed up for it was "Are you ready to install?") ALSO, about 2 days after I paid for that stuff, I noticed my invoice didn't have a price per square foot, just a grand total. I divided it out to find out what he had actually charged me per square foot, and the cashier guy (never got his name) had initially tried to charge me $500 over the sf price we had negotiated! But back on that date we ordered and paid for it, we re-negotiated "down" another $300 to get to an even #, so the INTENTIONAL OVERCHARGE (that they were able to get away with) was $200. My guess is they do this all the time. IF YOU WANT TO GIVE THIS GUY BUSINESS, don't pay upfront and make sure your invoice is very specific, including price per square foot. Then check his math. Is in dispute with my credit card company, $7K. Moe turned from "nice guy" going after the sale to--sad, but true--angry, intimidating man with zero interest in me since (he thinks) the sale is finished. My contractor said the stuff he gave me is worth about $3.50 sf; i paid $5.40 for Durango but didn't get it. RUN, RUN, AS FAST AS YOU CAN. GO TO A BIG NAME STORE THAT YOU CAN TRUST. 8/8/16 I won the dispute with my credit card company! Thanks, Capital One, but the process was lengthy and time consuming. 5/2017 Roma filed a lawsuit against me since they lost credit card dispute. Don't let this be you next. 6/22/18 WE WON our cross-complaint against this bozo (gentle word selection), who told my husband as he walked with him out to the parking lot, "Nothing personal, just a a business decision." I would never go here again, and would definitely not recommend to anyone. The women who works there is snarky. The older man is loud and very abrasive, he was actually yelling at an elderly woman who was in the store asking for her credit card information to be properly discarded from their files. What I can only assume are their sons working for them are completely unqualified. I went in to buy a lot of tile, and quickly decided this was NOT the place I wanted to do business with. I did find a tile I wanted to use in a small area of my remodel and when I asked the price the highly stoned boy, with eyes nearly closed, said "it's like really expensive, haha, you probably don't want this one" Meanwhile, it was only $30/sf. Which might have been ridiculous if I was doing an entire bathroom floor to ceiling but I was only doing about 3sf so it was completely reasonable for my budget. What an idiot though! Zero sales or customer service skills at all! So I buy the tile and it took him literally 30 minutes to get me a receipt, also, I didn't even get the tile! He told me after I paid I had to go pick it up 12 miles away and that they were already closed that day because they only work 10am-4pm! Good gosh, what a mess this place is. So I go and try to pick up the tile the next day and the bonehead didn't even do my receipt correctly and didn't give me PO or invoice number. Yikes! I'm all for family working together and having "kids" (aka 20+ year old adult makes) take over the family business but you have to at least have SOME type of skill set. I have been working with Moe for about a year now and am always impressed with his work and expertise. Moe only hires his own workers, who have been with him for a long time, so you always get quality work. I first used Moe's services on a client's home that needed flooring done ASAP to get it ready for sale. He helped me pick out the most stylish and cost effective flooring and was able to get it completed in less than 2 weeks, with the work completed in just a few days. His crew even worked on the weekend to make sure everything was completed in time for the listing photos. Moe was also able to help me with my own condo and I was overjoyed with the results. I had a wood laminate flooring installed in the living room, kitchen, stairs, bathrooms, laundry room and hallways and installed an upgraded gray carpet with extra thick padding in the bedrooms. I first visited Roma Flooring in November 2022 looking for replacement flooring in the kitchen and hallways hoping to find a match for the existing flooring. I checked out a sample. Moe told me that I can just take the piece to see if it would work. I asked if I needed a deposit and he said "No." my first impression was that he was a trusting person and therefore he must be trustworthy. I was in the showroom multiple times. Sometimes twice a week but every week until I finally decided on my favorite flooring. The frequency of these visits was almost embarrassing and I worried that they might think that I was just wasting their time. I met Kian, Cameron and Julie on these visits and I got a warm welcome every time as if I'm there for the first time. In March 2023, I finally found the perfect choice and the project began. Meanwhile, I had a bathroom that was still waiting to be done by another contractor who couldn't commit to finishing the project after starting it 10 weeks prior. I wanted the bathroom completed before the flooring so Moe finished the bathroom first as I wished. Thanks Kian for the design and beautiful tiles that you helped me pick. It's the perfect bathroom remodel that "Erick " would have wanted. Jose, Juan and Rolando installed the tiles with such precision that is truly impressive. Worst experience ever!! I needed to order some stair nosing molding that I needed for my stairs and they did not match the color at all. Totally a different color! The owner was super terribly rude and did not want to work anything out with me. He basically told me your stuck with the molding and if you want another color you would have to buy it/pay for it again! This company installed my countertop for both kitchen and bathroom. The owner gve me very good price on the China quartz stone if I used their labor. I asked him whether the installer is licenced contractor. He told me he guaranteed the quality of the work and showed me the picture of other job they did. It turned out three non-licenced worker showed up. The leader told me she need to cut the stone on the street. I told her two weeks ago she should figure out the drill hole for the faucet. The hole was too small to install the faucet. They left without finishing the job. Then, they came back the next day but they did not put any grout between the sink and the stone top. My wife and I were looking for a flooring company that could offer us quality, service and competitive pricing. We had received several quotes for wood floors in our two-story home; however, we were not satisfied with the contractors and quotes that we were receiving. We happened to walk into Roma Flooring Design's showroom in Anaheim. We were very impressed with the showroom and that is where we met Moe, the owner of the Roma Design Flooring. Moe was extremely helpful in helping us pick our flooring. I have kids and my house has stairs. We wanted something that could withstand all the traffic in our house without ruining our floors. He patienty guided us through different material and when I showed what I liked in the past, he said that particular wood was not in his suuply chain, but he said he will get in touch with the manufacturers and get back to us. He called the manufacturing company and got the wood at a very competitive price. We also wanted porcelain wood-grain tile in the kitchen and Moe had the best selection. We were so happy that he had everything in his showroom so that we did not have to go look at other flooring companies because at this point we were tired of looking around. He personally comes in every day to check the quality of the work. When we said the wood that was sent for the stairs was not good, he came in looked at it and called the company and got it changed in 2 days time. He gives utmost importance to customer satisfaction and when I said I did not like how a couple of steps on the staircase were done he ripped it and put the new pieces thought it costed him more. Good prices but if your not in a hurry to get your stuff. They buy from warehouses that order from china and you have to wait till it clears customs..one of there warehouse is Siena Inc. in city of industry 875 fairway drive. I purchase my flooring Saturday morning and they said the warehouse was closed that i would have to pick it up on monday...red flag. Monday came and went..Tuesday I called Roma and they told me another lie. that the flooring was being transported from another warehouse..i finally called Siena in city of industry and they told me the truth that the flooring is at the long beach ports and customs wont release it till Thursday. So if you like people that lie to you just to make a sale and dont mind waiting for your items to arrive. then this is the place for you. Now im just trying to get my money back....my flooring guy was going to start Monday and its now Wednesday and my installer started another job and all my stuff is in storage. Worst Experience ever! My parents hired this company to install travertine flooring in their home. The owner assured them that the job would be done within a week. It actually took over 3 weeks. The flooring was installed by workers who where not licensed. The installation was so poor that 52 tiles had to be replaced because they were either not flush, not level or were chipped. The final polish they applied to the stone was dull and cheap. They removed the threshold piece between the house and the garage and when they put it back, there were nails sticking out. My mom tripped over one and fell, tearing a tendon in her knee causing her thousands of dollars worth of medical bills. The owner of the company would not come to check out his horrible installation until my parents threatened to call their attorney. When he finally saw the poor installation, he had to bring in a third party to actually fix the installation and it even now it is far less than perfect. He denied any responsibility for my mom's fall. When I researched this company on the license board, I discovered that he is advertising as licensed by his license actually expired two years ago because he has no bond. Avoid this company at all costs. There are much more reputable companies out there. read more
