A really nice local business. The first thing I noticed was how clean the place is. We stopped by for lunch today, I ordered the steak wrap, hubby ordered the beef burrito wrap. I love that the fries are air fried - very tasty. Hubby loved his wrap - filled nicely with saffron rice, seasoned ground beef, sour cream, black beans and salsa. My steak wrap, while tasty, was a tad greasy - most likely from the peppers and onions. I love the sautéed mushrooms! Maybe a little less peppers and onions but the wrap itself was very good. I'm looking forward to going back to try some of their other items. There were some homemade cookies in the case that looked great and while not on their menu, breakfast items are available. Zero stars if I could. A few friends and I went to stop in and parked. The moment we exited the car, a woman, I'm assuming the owner, stepped outside to berate us about parking in her perpetually empty lot. I was just going to run next door to the gas station first before going inside and told her we'd be just a moment. She went on some idiotic rant about paying taxes? and told us we couldn't park there. Needless to say, none of us will ever be visiting the establishment since we never even got the chance before being yelled at like we were children by a crazy old lady. An old Stewart's-turned sandwich shop, Bonita's came through for our family today when we needed lunch from a town we were not familiar with at all. We wanted to meet my Mom in the middle between Syracuse and Albany to have lunch during the COVID-19 crisis. It had been months and we decided Little Falls might work. I looked up places that were actually open and Bonita's came up. We called ahead, asked that it be ready at 12:30pm and when we pulled in at 12:25 to pick it up, it was all boxed up and ready to go! We were lucky to stopped in while traveling though the area. It's a fairly unassuming place but the food is very high quality and the prices are still much better than most other places. Chef Nick is a friendly guy who aims to please. He grows the vegetables on their property and apparently the meat is grass fed. Chicken tenders were hand breaded with nice seasoning and not loaded with batter. Overall it exceeds expectations in every way. Stopped by this place as we were driving through the area off the Thruway. Not too far off the highway, easy to find. The owner said we are not open today. I said that Yelp said you were open. She replied "We don't use Yelp." Love that the sandwiches come with a choice of a side salad (mac or other) but would love a good potato chip option. In my opinion a great sandwich should come with awesome chips and a pickle. The last time I grabbed a quick lunch with my friend she raved about the chicken sandwich she ordered. The owner operator is great and prepares the food with love (at least it seems so!) the only thing keeping me from rating 5 star is the atmosphere. Sadly, we only discovered the Sandwich Chef a few months ago. But a friend brought us and we have been returning almost weekly. Owner Bonita is a delightful woman who really cares about her customers. Her Greens and Beans soup is absolutely wonderful. I vary the sandwiches that I get there, but I have always found them excellent. Beverly tried a chicken cranberry wrap and loved it. When she commented to Bonita that she missed Cuban sandwiches (we used to live in Florida) the next time we came they were on the menu. I have tried a variety of sandwiches and have never tasted a bad one. I also tend to sin grievously by devouring chocolate cake. The Sandwich Chef is part of the blooming of Main Street. Quality restaurants seem to be doing very well there. We sometimes go after church on Sundays. It is one of the few restaurants in town open that day... A great find that's worth the short trip from the freeway! We stopped here on the way from Boston to the Utica area because we didn't feel like eating highway food. The "delightful turkey" on a wrap with a side of watermelon was delicious and fresh. My fiancé enjoyed his Italian ciabatta with pasta salad, and my brother and his fiancé enjoyed their food very much as well. SO much better than the limited fast food options on the highway! We drove 60 miles to go here and it was more than worth it. They've been open over 4 years and my biggest regret was that I didn't know about it sooner. The owners are very nice people and are more than happy to shoot the breeze with you when they are not busy. The food is very affordable. They are much less than everyone else. The quality of the food is A1. I was going there for an Italian sub but the roast beef club sounded good so I got that. My wife got the Corned Beef Ruben. My club was much more than I expected. It wasn't cut into 4's which I loved as when it's in 4's it falls apart. The roast beef was not chewy. It melted in your mouth. This has to be one of the best ones I've ever had. I opted for the mac salad. Again I haven't had it like this before but I loved it. I didn't leave 1 piece of the pasta. My wife enjoyed her Ruben and opted for the potato salad which she really enjoyed. We decided to also order a turkey club to go to split for supper. I'm so glad we did. It traveled great the way they packed it and it fit right in the cooler and was excellent. All the meats are fresh there. They have a great looking dessert cooler there if you're still hungry. Canned soda are only a buck which I prefer much better than fountain soda. Now I can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and stop in. Also, they have shelves of homemade salsas, etc. which I forgot to get when we left. Now besides the food I have another reason to go back. read more
