Great food option in Suttons Bay with unbelievable prices, a great location, and hot subs so good we went back and ordered seconds. The Italian sub was amazing, and as I said, it was so good and so affordable my girlfriend and I decided to order a second one (not that the first wasn't a good portion to begin with). Thick pieces of flavorful Italian sub meat, crispy, melty, tasty cheese, toasty, fresh bread, and some solid veggie toppings. Couldn't quite tell if they actually put Italian dressing on ours, but it didn't matter. We loved it regardless! Compared to some of the other places in town, this place offers really great flexibility. You can take some subs, pizzas, or salads to go down to the beach, or do what we did and enjoy them in their very cute and peaceful restaurant. They also have a nice outdoor deck seating area with great views of the water, although there was some construction going on when we visited, so we decided to stay inside. They also have a Northwoods soda machine, which is a lot more fun than plain Coke or Pepsi for a northern Michigan adventure like a trip up to Suttons Bay. The guy behind the counter was perfectly friendly and didn't have an issue with us trying all of the different sodas. This will be a place we make into a destination next time we visit northern Michigan! read more

Had a couple local friends recommend Roman Wheel while I was staying up in Suttons Bay. Very chill and homie inside. The guys working were helpful with what I should order. I was stuck between pizza and the broasted chicken. I ended up with the deluxe pizza. The ingredients were so fresh and each bite was crispy and full of flavor. Picture doesn't do justice. Our first journey into Suttons Bay and, score, a terrific new Pizza spot for us. We just had a simple two topping large for $20 and couldn't finish it. Could be the massive amount of breadsticks we also got for $7.25. Here the sauce is the attraction for me. A simple almost paste consistency without a lot of spice. We love it! Obviously, it's not making the hot 100 yelp pizza list....that's right....nobody in Michigan did. Which more or less makes that list a joke. Roman's Wheel could have been considered for such an honor. It's a great slice of pie. We probably saw 20 orders all go carry-out at around 5:00 on a Monday. The locals must love it. It's easy to phone in and pick-up or you could dine in. It's an older building with character and it seems very clean to me. There's 1/2 dozen, four seat booths that we would've eaten at but we chose to go down to the water. I'm sure we will be back to do that more often with nicer weather coming. 02/24 read more

Very, very busy, rainy evening July 06, 2025. 5:00PM the phones were ringing non-stop and Opal handled herself and the phones and the lines indoors like a pro. Cool under pressure. 25 minutes after ordering, we got our pizza. Worth the wait. Absolutely delicious. Pepperoni with butter cheese crust. Worth every penny. My family and I ordered carryout from here our first night in town and it was wonderful! IDK if we were just happy to be on vacation and eating after a bit of a drive but man, we were really into everything we ordered. We split a pizza, an order of a half broasted chicken, and chicken wings because it was vacation and I wanted chicken wings, gosh darnit! Everything was delicious and the portions were HUGE. I was grabbing cold wings from the fridge the rest of the week and somehow I never ran out. Ordering and carryout were super quick and a total breeze, too! Upon arriving at our AirBnB I took the trash out to the road and discovered a Roman Wheel pizza box sitting on top of the previous guests' trash. Ive been to Roman wheel quite a few times since I live just a few miles from their location. most of the time the food is okay and the service is fine. But today when we called to place a simple pick up order for a pepperoni pizza the man that answered was snappy and rude from the very moment he answered the phone. I work in the service industry and I know things can be challenging and people difficult, but I have never answered the phone or interacted with someone with impatience and rudeness from the very get go. So good we went back twice! The first night we got into Suttons Bay we really wanted some pizza and this place was walking distance from our rental. This place gets BUSY! They have excellent pizza options, make your own, and the flavored crusts are fantastic. The service was friendly and it only took about 30 minutes to pick up an order we called in. Wow, great value. Split a four piece Broasted Chicken and Steak Fries with my wife. Left full and satisfied for a little over $10. Made fresh to order and very good. We've been spending two to four weeks in the Leelanau area every summer for decades. Roman Wheel is a must-do destination for us, often twice in a summer. We look forward to it every year. The pizza is delicious, with generous toppings and delicious crust, cheese and sauce. We like the Deluxe (or Supreme, or whatever they call it), and a few of us love to add anchovies. The broasted chicken is also great -- but it's rare that any of us can bypass the pizza to order chicken. read more

We got the BBQ chicken pizza and the white pizza! Both were delicious. I liked how the bbq sauce was on top of the pizza! My husband said the broasted chicken smelled awesome when he went to pick up our order. They cook it only to order so next time we will def get some of that. read more

Very well made, hand crafted pizzas. You can tell they put a lot of attention into the whole process as the edges had a nice char and chewiness, but the centers were completely cooked through as well and not burnt. The dough is surprisingly light for as dense as it feels when you bite into it. I'm a big fan and will definitely check them out again. read more
