This isn't my normal location. I was driving through and was craving there cheese and pepperoni rolls. The cheese was hardly cooked/melted on the inside of the rolls. The dough had way to many air pockets so based off that it wasn't fresh dough. The flavor wasn't anything like the rolls I have had at the Austin, Leander, or Georgetown location. I will not be returning to this location regardless if I am passing by. read more

So I've been coming to this location for 2 years now.. tonight I came in to order a Pizza to go like I normally do.. They said they are not taking anymore orders for 20 some minutes.. but it appears people are being served @ the tables.. okay only 2 table occupied.. fairly quiet. First time trying this place out, not a fan. The pizza came cold. One of the pizzas toppings and crust was burned. Both pizzas had zero to no marinara sauce making them so dry and unappetizing. I've been hitting the weekday buffet here for 10 years but have never been impressed. However, I visited today, and since they don't have the buffet on weekends, I ordered a whole pizza. I must say I was totally amazed at the difference. Even when they put a fresh pizza out on the buffet, it's not as good as today's special ordered pizza. I really think it has to do with the crusts they use. I ordered the Classic Veggie on the hand tossed original crust. The crust was light and airy instead of dense and chewy. It was loaded down with fresh veggies such as fresh tomato, onion, green pepper, black olives, 'shrooms, and sliced banana peppers. It also included mozzarella AND smoked provolone. That might have been the key ingredient. Bottom line is, I'm done with their buffets but I have fallen in love with their made to order pizzas. Bravo Double Dave's, bravo! read more

I recently moved from NYC so pizza is a sensitive topic for me and I will say DoubleDave's was not bad at all. We ordered the specialty: Dave's Fav Veggie pie which has spinach , tomato and white sauce. It was flavorful and we enjoyed the white sauce. I think for the price point, it was a little small so order one sizer larger if you're hungry. We also ordered the veggie pizza with red sauce. It had a great amount of veggies on it and the flavor was also great overall. Same as above, the price point is a little high for the size of the medium. Overall we liked the pizza and this is a convenient location to pick-up. We wish it had a little more crunch in the crust but the flavor makes up for that. Will try again soon! read more

One of the best pizza buffets. It is available every day for lunch. I love the variety they offer in pizza, calzone, pizza rolls and dessert pizzas. The different flavors and high quality pizza is good. With an HEB receipt you can score $1 off too. Updated my review from 4 stars to 1 after the disappointing experience tonight. Stopped by on lunch to pick up a Stromboli to go. Took 15 to 20 minutes to get, and then it was overcooked. Took it to the gentleman at the counter and figured just refund my money and no time to fix this in a timely manner. The gentleman directed me to Ryan, who was cleaning the windows at the front door. Ryan came over, and before I could ask for a refund or even feel frustrated, he said he would take care of it. He also stated he would get me out of there in less then 10 minutes. Ryan, who I am not sure if he is the manager or what his position is, did exactly what he said he was going to do to make it right. The end of the story is my lunch was great. What a delicious deal! I wish I lived closer to this restaurant! Double Dave's Buffet offers a good selection of great tasting food - definitely a BIG step up from Cici's Buffet. Some co-workers and I decided to go for lunch after we received flyers at work. When we went for lunch the salad bar has a fresh selection of items and there was a wide variety of pizzas available - besides the standard Pepperoni, Sausage and Cheese, they also had Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken and Veggie. They also had strombolis, garlic bread and pepperoni rolls - which were AWESOME. For dessert definitely try the Cinnamon Styxz - so gooey, sweet and yummy. I wasn't a big fan of the Chocolate Chip Pie - it was pretty bland, and the Cherry Streudel was nothing special. I would definitely go back! Only to be told they were not taking anymore orders. Mind you, this was 12:30 in the afternoon. There were 5 customers in the lobby. Maybe they all left right before I got there. Maybe they were preparing a huge to-go order...i don't know but that was clearly the wrong answer. To add to the issue, the guy kneading or tossing the dough, was bare-handedly handling his phone, set it right back down on his station and stated working the dough again. I can only imagine where his phone has been. I know I go "EVERYWHERE" with mine like most people, so allow your imagination to finish my thought. So maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I apologize for not leaving feedback at my initial visit. I am not one just to post negative feedback but this was ridiculous Not the way to do business and definitely not a good hygiene practice. This is our to-go pizza spot! They offer daily specials and have fresh-made salads on the menu! The salads are made to order, never sitting pre-packaged to brown and wilt. Ordered Italian Salad, Margharita Pizza, and Steak & Cheese Stromboli. Salad- was a good size but topped with a whole tomato cut in four giant pieces. My fork broke attempting to cut it. Onion pieces were a mouth full. Asked for plates and they brought out thin paper plates that when wet, rip. Put my salad to the side Bc it was overwhelming to eat. Pizza again, GIANT tomato pieces. So far my first time being here I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and their eight piece hot wings. Everything was mediocre the service was great ! Don't get me wrong there I just wish the food added up with the customer service. I know they made everything fresh cause it took awhile but the spark wasn't there it was like something from the food was missing. It was good at the time maybe because I was hungry but the hot wings I got came with your choice of ranch or blue cheese but it also came with a lot of fat & the hot wings were definitely on the mild side. Actually not hot at all. the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which is different from most places had no flavor but there was a lot of cheese and steak. But nothing to brag about I don't think I will be returning. it is a nice place with arcade games and lots of TVs but I definitely had better wings and sandwiches. Okay third time here. Our first two experiences were good so I thought I'd bring my kids here to enjoy the pizza experiences my wife and I had twice before. Welp... let me begin by saying... if you're a pizza order taker and a customer orders their pizza and drinks, don't tell your customer you have no ice after they've already paid for their order and you hand them their cups. But hey, if you're the type that likes warm, iceless soda when they're enjoying your pizza then this is your spot. Our order consisted of a couple of pizzas, some pepperoni bread sticks and a salad. One of our pizzas came out with cheese only when it was supposed to be pepperoni, though they quickly fixed that. The food was good. The dining room had a lot of dirty tables. I have never been to this location physically, but I have placed delivery orders several times from this location. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because I have not physically been there. Like I said...I have placed several delivery orders. Everything has been fantastic! I always order online, and I usually add specific notes and preparation instructions. Every time the order comes, it's obvious that the employees at this location take particular care to follow prep instructions and notes. The other thing I have noticed about doubleDave's is the speed at which a delivery is made. It doesn't matter if it's Friday, Saturday, or any other day you'd think they would be very busy.....the food gets to you FAST. I'm almost willing to guarantee it's faster than any other pizza place. We never gave Double Dave's much love until last year when we realized how easy it is to order a cheese-less pizza for our dairy-allergy son! We can order him a dairy-free pizza full of veggies and pepperoni and he gets a fun-filled pizza experience that's perfectly allergy-friendly. It has become a staple in our household and their curbside service is convenient and fast. It's incredibly easy to order from their website and I highly highly recommend their cheese bread. Very happy to update my review. The manager responded to my last one and very graciously asked for another chance to make it right. He gave us a generous credit and we just finished our second delivery pizza. The deliveries were prompt and friendly. The pizza was hot and good. Not "Chicago good" but definitely San Antonio good. I'm really glad we're back and looking forward to more satisfying delivery pizzas in my future! Sadly need to update this review. Apparently they are "between" management (or so I was told). Twice in a row it took over an hour - this last time the driver seemed to be under the influence and incoherent. The pizza was cold and burnt.
