Thumbs Up: The restaurant is located on Main Street, near the University of Houston - Downtown. Overall, they're a decent pizzeria. Thumbs Up: Most people living in the surrounding lofts enjoy coming here for quick slices of pizza served by friendly, attractive college-age employees. Neutral: I like providing honest reviews, so I'll mention two observations that aren't things the restaurant can fix: (1) homeless people often lurk near the entrance, and (2) Fabian's across the street can be very loud from Friday to Sunday, making conversations difficult. Thumbs Up: I appreciate that this restaurant always bakes their pizza slices in the oven, which makes them taste fresher. I wasn't pleased when the nearest pizza place, Frank's Pizza, just took the pizza from the heating lamp and put it in a to-go container.

Thumbs Down: It's probably best to order pizza by the slice in person. When we ordered a slice of pepperoni and jalapeno pizza, it was clear they just grabbed a slice of pepperoni pizza from under the heat lamp and sprinkled some...

Reading these reviews, I'm not sure if people in Dickinson actually have taste buds. First and foremost this is nothing like NY Style Pizza. I ordered a large pepperoni. The size is great, the dough was ok, the sauce was flavorless as well as the pepperoni. I can tell they order the cheapest of products, which I understand in this economy but don't charge $20 for a large pizza with great value ingredients. The restaurant is really nice and clean. A lot bigger than it looks from the outside. They did a really good job. Upon entering I wasn't greeted at all. The owner walked over and just stared at me. So I told him I wanted a large pepperoni. I stood by the register waiting for him to ring up my order but he said "yes" and walked away. I sat down and waited. I got the pizza, paid the bill. He walked away again. No Thank you, hope you enjoy it or come again. Owner needs to work on customer service or hire someone for the front area. I doubt if I will return.

I can't justify paying $20 for a tasteless pizza when I can get 2 large pepperoni pizzas from Little Caesars with flavor for $16.

Great pizza okay customer service! lol I'll add to that in a bit. I saw Dave Portnoy did a review so I figured let me go by and try the pizza. Actually I think this was the highest rated piece review in Houston so good job for pizza Roma. Customer service is pretty good. It's OK I guess but I just thought it was hilarious. The guy working in front of them like this authentic ny style he responded " I don't man I just work here" lol I actually laughed so hard. I thought that was funny response. Back to the pie. The pizza is great! Full of flavor. Crisp to perfect. Every single bite was amazing! I'll definitely come back soon. Easy five star review! I see why Dave rated them high!

We were visiting from Kentucky on a family trip. Food was great, restaurant was clean, staff were very friendly and hospitable. I trust Romo the Albanian behind the counter more than I trust people down the road in Clearfield, Ky. If you are in the area definitely check it out!

I've been a downtown resident for nearly 20 years. Still, when the boss man at Roma's is hand stretching pies, it results in the best slice in the entire city. If you don't add an irresponsible amount of garlic powder, red pepper, and Parmesan cheese, by yourself it's your own damn fault. Best slice.

Amazing great tasting thin crust pizza. Ordered pepperoni and a margarita. Wasn't too crazy about the Margarita 7/10. Pepperoni was near perfect. Pizza Sauce was great full of flavor. Only wished the bottom crust was a little crispier but that's just a personal choice. Will undoubtedly comeback.

Seriously this was some really good pizza! Came here after a night out drinking on Saturday. Pizza was hot and hit all the spots. Quick and speedy service too! They weren't selling beer when we got there after midnight. My understanding they stay open until 3am on Saturdays. Affordable and from the looks of it a crowd fav.

We were staying at the Icon across the street so coming here was a no-brainer. I wouldn't recommend the gyro (meat was really dry), but it is a pizza place after all. And the pizza was tasty. It tasted like Papa Johns...back in the 90's when they were new and used better ingredients. Lots of toppings and cheese. Yum. read more

No better way to satisfy your drunken late night appetite on a low budget than freshly baked pizza and dessert (I've only been after midnight). I love veggie pizzas and they make it just the way I like.. by the slice, fluffy crust, cheesy, saucy, and just enough veggies. If you're looking for nice ambience and decor, this ain't the place. The bright flourescent lighting is a bit harsh, but the delicious pizza makes up for it. read more

Pretty good pizza. I've tried margarita, pepperoni, sausage, and cheese. They were all pretty good. My only complaint is that the pizza can sometimes be too oily and I wish the crust was just a bit crispier. read more

Coworkers turned me on to this pizza joint and I have to say it has the best pizza in Houston. They are open pretty late and and sell by the slice. It is especially convenient for me because it is right in the path of Houston Light Rail. read more

Great pizza, price and service! I came here for lunch and got a slice of the pepperoni (around $2.75) and a HUGE house salad, that was only $5. The pizza was fresh out of the oven and delicious. And the staff was very kind, attentive and quick. Will definitely be coming back! read more

This is my Go to Pizza place if I am ever in down town, Like, when me and my wife fly out of town and come back into Bush, this is not an uncommon stop otw home, even at 1am, we have stopped after a long flight to pick up 2 larges. because if you're just looking for a good simple floppy slice of pepperoni pizza, there is no place better, hands down. we even have a system where we order by phone, one of us jumps out at the main and congress light and who ever is driving will do a block and jump right back in. I dont do that kinda planning for just anywhere. read more

My cheese pizza slice was delicious, robust... just all around excellent. The sauce reminded me of my favorite place- Gino's pizza in Chicago. The flavor tasted authentic like the cooks actually put some care into their pies. And the staff was extremely nice! My favorite NYC Pizzeria right now and I have been to NYC. I always thought Frank's pizza was the best of the best pizza joints in the downtown area until I tried this place. Easily a better slice than franks and the best you can get in downtown. However, I still catch my self going to franks more often before rockets/astros games because you just can't beat their $2 st Arnold's. read more

Food is good, really awesome actually. Customer service freaking terrible. Smh. Asked a waiter one question and his response was "I'm a little busy". I simply asked was ranch extra. Also I had to wait 3 minutes in line before anyone came to get my order. There was no one else waiting, they were just talking. The cooks also charge their phones by the food prep area. Man Roma's has 100X better food than all the pizza pizzerias in Houston.Its cris, it's delicious,It's heaven . Many of y'all people are just making up some excuses about this place. Papa jones pizza is really like really salty, or some cases burned many other stores like New York pizzerias is really pricey and the pizza is really not even tasty at all. The drinks they have are also great and they have mint leaves to put in your water or tea which is very refreshing. The restroom is always clean and the vibes are nice and family friendly. I've come here about 4-5 times and I keep planning to come back! The customer service is also friendly and attentive.

The Pepperoni was traditional but a limited about of pepperoni as you can see in the photograph, noting about of the ordinary. The Peppered Vodka sauce was excellent, but again limited sausage. The crust was probably the best part of the pizzas. Talespin is what I'd consider an "average" pizzeria when comparing to the "non-chain" establishments around town. Still not as good as you'd get at a proper Italian restaurant, but better than Domino's or Papa John's.

The salami piccante pizza is a classic and the hot honey just sends it over the top. Big fan of all the cocktails too. The menu drinks are all top notch with a happy hour "every damn day" from 4-6. The cosmonaut is a staple martini during happy hour and my personal favorite. Their black lemon drop martini and espresso martini are not to be slept on, nor are their seasonal drinks. They have themed events, karaoke, taco pop ups, Friday 13 events and the holidays here are so fun. Come in and order at the bar, then find a seat anywhere. The whole place is spacious, before it gets packed (and it can get packed). The pizzas are my favorite here and their smash burgers are HIGHLY underrated. My favorite burgers aside from trill burger while at the rodeo. Honestly, you can't go wrong here. The bartenders are nice, the merch is cool, and they have stickers and a Photo Booth. Absolutely worth a visit.

Good Prices and Good location. Had the Gyro plate. Meat was tender and bread tasted fresh. I don't think much effort was made to spice or whip the Tsaziki sauce. It was basically yogurt and thats' it. It was late and I think they were only anticipating serving pizza but when we made a request for salads, they tossed some fresh. Pizza at the other tables looked pretty good, and if I had been in the mood for it, probably would have had a few slices. After a long day of travel and just wanting something to quick to eat that wont break the bank and leaves you feeling satisfied, you can't go wrong with Roma's. read more

Was in downtown Houston celebrating a friends B-Day and ended up staying late for drinks. Got the drinking munchies and found this place across the street. Was one of the highlights of the nite. The pizza was awesome. The crust was perfect and the flavor was equal to any New York pizza people rave about. Being from Chicago and knowing great pizza this place made the list, was one of the best pizzas I've found in Houston. Will definitely make more excuses to go into the city just to go back. read more

I asked for a salad I really like salad and I was told their not making any salad because they're closing early, no sweat I'll just take a slice of pizza. We got one of their menus in the mail and decided to try it out for lunch. Got a personal pizza and garlic rolls and both were great. Garlic rolls were soft inside and had a touch of crunchy on the outside which to me is perfect. The pizza crust was the same, I love a crust with a soft chewy but a touch of crunch. One thing I cant stand is a rubber pizza and this was not one of those. I for sure recommend and will be back. read more

The pizza here is delicious, with large, thin, and well-prepared slices. The service is excellent; the staff is very friendly. The space is simple but comfortable. The only downside is that there's no parking, so you have to park on the street. Highly recommended! read more
