When we first got there, everyone was very attentive. We placed our order of salmon tartare, cacio de Pepe, bronzino and rose'. At least a half hour goes by and we still did not receive the rose'. I finally got the waiter's attention and said we never got our wine. I think he may have been playing dumb but apologized, brought it over and said there was no charge which I appreciated. However, he took away the bread basket which I thought was odd. Another half hour goes by and we still have not received any of our dishes but didn't think anything of it because tables that were seated way before us were just getting served. But then I see the chef hanging out outside and our waiter is sitting down at a table with some customers. That is when we are like what is going on here?!?! I got the attention of another waiter and started to ask him about our food but he just ignored me and started talking to another waiter. I finally got the attention of our waiter and gave him a look from afar and shrugged my shoulders thinking he would realize we never got our food. He brings over our check thinking we wanted to pay! I said we never got any of our food! It's now around 11:30 pm and we have been there since 10:00 pm. To me, he looked like he was playing dumb again and said there was a computer glitch and the order must have not gone through. You are telling me after all the orders that went through that night, the one we placed was the only one that did not go through? You didn't know there was a computer glitch before our order? (We were the last table to sit) He barely apologized, offered us the salmon tartare but we declined and left hungry as we had to go to sleep to get up at 6am for our flight back to the US. He ruined our last night of vacation and couldn't care less. And if he thought we received our order, why didn't he ask if we needed anything or how the food was during the night? I guess that explains why he took the bread basket away. He thought we had finished eating but we actually never started. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!! DONT LET THE CROWDS FOOL YOU.

While there are subtle differences between Sardinian restaurants and Roman restaurants, (More tomato, more ingredients, more complex) Basically, the menu looks exactly like what you would expect to see in an Italian seafood restaurant. No surprise, I had spaghetti with a bunch of seafood on top. A bunch of seafood ... like the best clams I have had in my life. (I am from New England. I know my clams.) The best mussels I have had in my life. (I kill for mussels even in a plain old American sports bar.) And a bunch of other fine goodies. * * * For readers who want to hear about something more exotic, The vegetable side dish ... (Served as an appetizer because Roman restaurants really really want you to have two courses. Dishes are served separately just on principle. Since each dish tends to be amazing and would lose from being distracted by other dishes ... I kind of have to agree with the Romans on this one.) My wife's vegetable side dish had eggplant to die for and flower of zucchini to die for. (Flower of Zucchini are zucchini tops. Americans don't eat those. Italians get amazing results with them.) My broccoli had tinges of amazingly good olive oil, a soupcon of Sicilian crushed red pepper (Sardinians and Sicilians see eye to eye on crushed red pepper) and parmesan. Any kid in this world would have chowed down on that broccoli. They wouldn't even need to be bribed with dessert to eat that broccoli. (Actually Italian desserts are very good. A smart kid would have bargained for the ultimate win-win situation.) * * * We had other stuff but I don't remember the details on those. That probably means we had wine with lunch and the wine must have been very good too. What I do remember is that I left Costa Paradiso totally happy from head to toe, and I stayed that happy for the rest of the day. The decor is spacious, clean, quiet and classy. The service is friendly, with a family-owned and operated vibe. The menu is extensive; more than enough antipasti, primi and secondi options for pescetarians and vegetarians alike. I recommend getting a glass of house white or red, the seafood salad and the sardianian fish (I posted pictures). They finished our meal with a small shot of delicious Mirto (Sardianian specialty) and creme brulee dessert. If I find myself in Rome again, I'll go out of my way to eat here.
