STEPH JUDGEMENT: Homey and clean, with friendly service. We were staying in the area and decided to stop in for dinner. It wasn't fancy by any means, but felt comfortable and welcoming. The complimentary chips and salsa were great--the chips crispy and the salsa had a nice kick. We saw their $5.99 classic margaritas deal and had to try it. It was predictably weak but hey, the price. I got the 2 Baja Fish taco daily special with rice & beans and the hubby got a cheese quesadilla and a cauliflower taco. They also had beyond beef tacos, and we were surprised to see these vegan options. Maybe it's the influence of all the Death Valley hiking hippies? Whatever the cause, it was welcome to see. Had a craving for some Mexican food on the way out to Death Valley. This spot was on the path, and their food was quite good. They do have some odd process to add a credit card surcharge to the bill, which is OK, but rather annoying. Found Romero's last night. I've lived in Pahrump for 3 years, driven by Romero's and never stopped in, Big Mistake, BIG BIG MISTAKE. Impressed from the moment we walked in. Greeted by the friendliest of friendly Bar Maid/ Manager. The ambiance was amazing. Tried 3 different Margarita's Original, Mango, and Raspberry, each delicious in their own way. Next came dinner, #5 and #8, original, authentic flavors real meat, and the sauces were to die for. Then came the crem de' la crem' a Tequila Club in Pahrump, NV with Over 100 Tequila's to choose from, flights available and plaques on the wall for those decerning coinsurer's. Highly recommend!! Excellent food, wonderful service and a friendly atmosphere. We got a combination #8, and a combination #9. Natalia was our server and she was very attentive. We ordered and it only took about 6 minutes for us to be served. My husband and I shared and really enjoyed the #8 with a chile relleno, pork tamale and the cheese enchilada. My father in law devoured the chile relleno and ground beef taco, and most of the cheese enchilada before he was too full to finish the rest. Not only my favorite Mexican Restaurant Pahrump, but currently my favorite dining experience in the area. Top-notch service that'll make you feel like family. Terrific, fast and fresh food, plus they have vegan/vegetarian options. I had the vegan tacos which were incredibly tasty and will be coming back to check out their cauliflower tacos. They kept refilling their delicious and fresh chips/salsa. And OMG the horchata is the phenomenal! So, my husband and I have been enjoying Romero's for a couple of years. All of their food is well prepared and very tasty. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is clean with a nice ambiance. It is a casual spot. Everything we have tried here has been wonderful. It is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. We are from Texas so that is a good compliment. Some of our favorites are the quesaberria, enchiladas, fajitas, and chimichangas. My only complaint is I wish the servings for salsa was a little bigger, but they refill it often. See it's not even a big deal!!! They are wonderful go eat there!!! read more

My family and I are on a trip from the Midwest and came to see Death Valley. Afterward, we stopped at Romero's, and the hospitality made us feel like we were regulars. They apologized and comped us some free desert for a wait that was under 10 minutes...and we came in 30 minutes before close. They truly care about the customer. It says vegan friendly so i had beyond steak tacos which had flavor but the tortilla had no flavor (which I didnt even know could happen) they were topped with a whole lot of lettuce, a bit of tomato and this green sauce which I couldn't tell if it was salsa or cream based of avacado based? I couldn't tell because again NO FLAVOR. Where are the spices? My boyfriend got the Chimichanga plate with rice and beans and yes you guessed it NO FLAVOR. This hot pocket looking thing was greasy but not crispy or flakey. It was stuffed wirh shredded beef an cheese which also NO FLAVOR NO FLAVOR! He was hungry and choked down what he could. The wait staff was ok. Our waiter was decent didnt give us beverage refills but did refill our chips and salsa. He didn't smile or pretend to want to be there but I get it. It was clean kinda cluttered but they were playing mexican musc so it had to be a mexican restaurant. Needless to say we won't return. This marvelous testaurant isn't right on a main thoroughfare but worth the small detour. We were warmly greeted when we entered and our server took care of us right away. The menu has something for everyone...which made it so hard to choose what to order. With the help of our friendly server, I decided on the half order of the Super Nachos (remember I said HALF). The carne asada was perfectly prepared and the toppings so plentiful I ended up having to eat it with a fork. "Half order" doesn't mean what you think it does at Romero's. This delicious plate of nachos could have easily fed 2 people. My husband's "half order" of the Pork Green Chile Bowl could have fed 2 people as well. Folks, the pork in that dish was perfection. The vibe is laid back and friendly. For the amount of quality food we received, the price is unbeatable. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!
