This restaurant definitely has a greasy spoon feel, but it was recommended to me because the food is excellent. I ordered a Cheeseburger Special (comes with fries and drink) and it certainly tasted good. They didn't hold back on the pickles like a lot of places do. It had a perfect amount of condiments added. It felt like eating a backyard burger fresh off the grill. Fries were hot. Tables were clean. Order line and pick up counter was neat and clean. Employees were friendly and courteous. Prices were good for overall value. I did not like the bathroom area. It is located outside directly behind drive thru window. Sink knob is broken off and it's hard to adjust temperature with the way you turn it on. The water was very hot (better hot than cold in my opinion) and there were no paper towels. I wasn't impressed and a little discouraged because I needed to use a restroom for general hand sanitation before eating. Wow likely the best Italian sub I've ever had. I like it cold with the peppers. It's spicy and delicious. Perhaps stick to the twentieth century drive through and you won't have to hang out waiting in the unswept dining room:-/ The building is tired and shabby, common of the area, but a broom and mop would go a long way towards making this a 4 star for me. read more

Not the cleanest looking place. Prices are fair. Only had the Italian sub and tacos so far. Decent sub. Tacos are banging! Much tastier than the Bell My only complaint, went there on 1/12/21 only 2 cars ahead, but almost 20 minutes wait time till I got my meal, gotta wait for each customer to have their order made. They need a menu board on back of building, especially since all business is done thru drive thru bc of covid. I don't understand why there are restaurants, like Frank's pizza that let people eat in, with proper distancing, but Romis can't do same and use safe distancing etc. I'd eat there more often like I used to, but don't want to wait in slow drive thru. I've been going to Romi's since I was a little girl! I'm 46 now and they are still great! I love their hot dogs(best hot dog, chili and cole slaw), burgers, tacos, salads, subs! Cold cut Italian sub was really good. I'd probably go light on the mayo next time. Everything else was portioned really well and the bread was soft and chewy... In a very good way. The place is a bit run down but I prefer their subs to Subway any day. Drive-thru is convenient as well. I know a lot of people who have lived in Danville all their life and never tried this place... Food is awesome! I have been eating at this place for a really really long time. Problem is the building is so nasty and run down. If you go inside just look up. I mean how hard is it to get a step ladder and get that 20 years of dust off the ceiling tiles? How expensive are new drop ceiling tiles to replace those water stained ones? They could replace most items cheap and the cleaning is free. Half the time there isn't many customers there so I am sure they could clean in downtime. The table legs have crud all along them where it meets the floor. It is a restuarant folks... If I owned it you can bet it would look cleaner than it does if I expected people to eat inside. The biggest problem is it makes me wonder just how bad the food storage area and prep area looks if they don't even care about how the lobby area looks. Hope they get it together. Maybe even one day they will replace that sign outside that the sub disapeared on from sunlight 20 years ago. read more

The food was just ok and the the decor is pretty run down. The bathroom light was burned out so I used the woman's. Be brave, very brave if you use the restroom. I got a double burger fries and tried their sm taco. The burger needed seasoning but was ok. I hate taco ball taco but their taco in 10xs better than the taco here. It was kinda busy for lunch time and everyone ordered the cheese steak. Maybe I might have to come back to try it. read more

The food is good. I love the cheeseburger special, extra crispy fries. Taco salads are awesome as well as their garden salads! HOWEVER I would not reccoment eating inside or you will smell like a grease trap when you leave. Go through the drive thru & keep your window up unless you are paying for your food or taking your food from the employee. read more

Yes, the building is old and dated but it's clean. The food is always fresh and made just the way you order it. I've been eating here for many years and my favorite is the Italian cold cut sub, it's delicious. They also have some of the best hot dogs and burgers in town. The taco salad is huge and delicious. Their sub bread is soft and chewy and you will love it. I much prefer Romi's to any other sub shop in town. read more
