I have a no solicitation sign on my front door. I saw someone knock on the sign through the glass panel of the door. I at this point figured it was a neighbor dropping off groceries. I answered the door and low and behold a Romney pest control solicitor. I point out the no solicitation sign and was told he did not know what that meant. I have cancer that is why I have the sign on my door. I do not need random people coming to my door. I am literally one infection away from a hospital stay. Shame on you Romney Pest control for not teaching your employees to respect peoples property. Thank you for exposing me to whatever nastiness your employee may have. The service is punctual and the personnel are courteous. However, as your contract progresses, they are less thorough. If you try to cancel your service, you will have to pay 80% of the remaining charges for the year contract. After your contract is complete, they will attempt to continue service, without any acknowledgement that there is no longer a binding contract. Comparable service can be purchased for 1/2 to 2/3 of their price ($150/visit) without a contract. read more

Not only was it WAY too late to be soliciting at all the sales men also think its okay to go ahead and knock on doors that have signs that say "no soliciting". More than one house btw. So there's not an excuse of "I didn't see it". Also the sales men are riding scooters from door to door. ARE YOU KIDDING?? Wait! I'm not done yet. They also don't have the decency to wear a freaking mask when walking up to your home. Very very unprofessional company. And clearly have ZERO respect for potential future customers. Salesman at my door twice. I told him he was already here. He lied and said no. How many people on scooters ignore gated warnings for No Solicitors and roll up to front door?? I told him I don't use chemicals. He told me they use products derived from flowers and showed me a screen of Marigolds. I told him Pyrethrins are synthetically derived for pest control, and are not flowers. I asked for a card. He said he has none and only has a one-day half off deal. I've had the pleasure of being a Romney customer for a long time now. My neighbor uses their service so we called them out and have been happy with the results ever since. We are on a quarterly treatment plan and it costs us about 100 bucks every three months. They treat the inside and the outside of the home and take great care when they do so. In the event that the treatment isnt as effective as you want they will gladly come right back out and re-treat at no cost. Two summers ago for some reason we had a flea problem for the first time since we bought the house. Our dog spent no more time outside that summer than she did any of the previous (or subsequent) years so we arent sure how it happened. Romney literally came out every week for three or four weeks straight (at no additional cost to us) and re-treated the entire interior and exterior of my home. They have one technician in particular who we love because he really takes his time and moves furniture and things out of the way to treat as effectively as he can. The next time he comes we are going to get his name so we can request him by name (we routinely tip him when he comes). All in all I can't say enough good things about Romney. Their customer service is amazing, their response to issues is extremely quick and their prices aren't bad either. They've earned my business over the long term that is for sure. read more

We've been using Jitterbug pest control for several years and they were recently taken over by Romney. Romney has rescheduled 2 appointments last minute after we've arranged our schedules to be at home for the treatment, and for the third time the technician was not able to make the appointment. After speaking with the general manager, they were not willing to do anything for the 3 missed appointments. Phone conversations with the company were unprofessional and would recommend finding another more reliable company. read more

I ended up cancelling the service before it was started. The sales person, Spencer, and I had an extensive conversation regarding the safety, natural, nontoxic nature of the products used. He said he would send the specs of the products, which I did not receive from him. I was able to get them from their office manager as they aren't listed on the website. My family has had our home treated by Romney Pest Control for at least 4 years. They always come quarterly for our treatments. The best part is we never have any issues with bugs within our home, and the few times we've seen an ant hill or a wasp nest outside in the yard they have treated the problem right away. I recently purchased a business, and because of the great service Romney has provided for my home they now treat my business. I was having a few bug (spider) problems because of the early spring rain, but since their first treatment my business has been bug free now for months. Only ONE treatment did the trick. I was seeing spiders, ants and scorpions throughout my new home in garden ridge. After a year of that nonsense, I called Romney to continue their services I once had in Cibolo. Very disappointed on Romney's customer care. I've used them for a few years. I recently reported a problem for the first time in all those years because they covered areas of the backyard with toxic chemicals/granules that were not supposed to have been sprayed in those areas, and which they had never done in the past. A kid got hurt by them and the chemicals wouldn't come off unless pressure-washed. That wasn't the worst, though. The worst problem was the response I received from Angel and Matt at Romney. No concerns, no genuine apology, and no desire to make it right. As another Reviewer reported, they were much better with the previous ownership. I have cancelled my services with them. read more

They send someone around late at night to get people to sign up for year-long contracts and tell you that you can cancel at any time but won't let you cancel without a cancellation fee. Then they continue to harass you by phone text and email. read more

I completely agree with Esther K.'s review. We were also a Jitterbug company for several years before they were acquired by Romney. Unlike every other pest control company I've used for 40+ years (including Jitterbug), they don't make appointments 3 months in advance, but, instead, call you and tell you they will be there in 2-3 days. The first service was OK, but they sent a different person the second time, and he was a disaster. When I called the manager Matt to complain, he argued with me continuously. It's no wonder they are not well run. As I now realize, this is a Dallas (Lewisville) company, with a second office in San Antonio. read more
