Been using their services for almost 10 years now. When I purchased a new build home, it came with Home Team in wall pest control. I was seeing spiders, ants and scorpions throughout my new home in garden ridge. After a year of that nonsense, I called Romney to continue their services I once had in Cibolo. I haven't seen a live creature since! Romney is family ran and very dependable. Bottom line: their product kills the creatures inside and out. Very disappointed on Romney's customer care. I've used them for a few years. I recently reported a problem for the first time in all those years because they covered areas of the backyard with toxic chemicals/granules that were not supposed to have been sprayed in those areas, and which they had never done in the past. A kid got hurt by them and the chemicals wouldn't come off unless pressure-washed. That wasn't the worst, though. The worst problem was the response I received from Angel and Matt at Romney. No concerns, no genuine apology, and no desire to make it right. As another Reviewer reported, they were much better with the previous ownership. I have cancelled my services with them. read more

They send someone around late at night to get people to sign up for year-long contracts and tell you that you can cancel at any time but won't let you cancel without a cancellation fee. Then they continue to harass you by phone text and email. read more

I completely agree with Esther K.'s review. We were also a Jitterbug company for several years before they were acquired by Romney. Unlike every other pest control company I've used for 40+ years (including Jitterbug), they don't make appointments 3 months in advance, but, instead, call you and tell you they will be there in 2-3 days. The first service was OK, but they sent a different person the second time, and he was a disaster. When I called the manager Matt to complain, he argued with me continuously. It's no wonder they are not well run. As I now realize, this is a Dallas (Lewisville) company, with a second office in San Antonio. read more

Young man solicited these services in gated community. Rang doorbell after 7:30 and was very pushy. I told him three times we have pest control service and that solicitation is not allowed in a private community. Finally had to shut door on him. This company hired a guy to come door to door in our neighborhood (which has a strict no solicitation policy). The guy approached neighbors as they were unloading their cars. He rang my doorbell and then knocked. He was very persistent even after several neighbors told him that solicitors were not allowed. Worst service I've had, both in quality of product and customer service. The inside of my home is overrun with mosquitoes so I'm covered in bites along with my 6 month old twins. When I called to complain because I've never had this problem until I started with this company, they basically said, not our fault, nothing we can do. Then they proceeded to tell me the problem is that I live on a creek. REALLY? When did I move to creekside property? Way too expensive and terrible service. A Romney salesman came to my door and quoted a great deal with Romney pest control. I needed the service, price was right, so I signed up. A few days later I get a phone call to set up services and autopay options. The price was stated $25 higher than what I signed up for. The customer service person basically told me it was a mistake, misinformed salesperson, and they would not honor the price I agreed to on the contract. After 40 minutes of trying to convince the agent to honor the price, I refused the service b/c the salesperson wouldn't budge. I finally received a call from a manager later that day, and although he was very pleasant to speak with, we agreed to part ways, void the contract, and we would call as needed. My husband called once for service, to which they responded promptly, and charged $135. One day over Thanksgiving break, while we had family visiting from out of town, a Romney technician showed up at our house stating we were due for a service. My husband turned him away and again stated we would call when needed. Second week of December a Romney Rep shows up atvour house again. My husband agreed to get the service done and called the company to provide billing information. Late February we received a bill for non payment and a note stating we are also due for a service as stated in our contract. I finally called Romney back first week in March to officially end the confusion and found out the manager who agreed to void the misquoted contract had in fact never did. After much back and forth with the customer service woman, I also inquired about the overdue bill. Turns out our payment was never applied to the account and it was being sent to collections. BUT we were "still due for servicing." I am still waiting for the manager to retirn my call and erase the hit on my credit report. Although the customer service reps, technicians, and sales reps were veryvpolite and friendly...my husband and I don't appreciate the shady way of doing business. This required way too much effort for a basic pest control service. I will NEVER do business with this company again. And my husband has reported them to the BBB. Thank you Romney for screwing with my credit rating. It is much appreciated, but we will take out business elsewhere. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

These people are the best con artists out there!!! First they claim they use high pressured pumps and that they will hit every crevice of your home. Not only did they not hit every crevice of our home but they sprayed with a hand pump, of which I probably have four sitting in my garage. Additionally, their horrible receptionist only documents what is convenient to Romney. The manager is perhaps the worst! Not only is he passive aggressive but apparently the customer is never right and only his lying employees are!!! Do not waste your money on this piss poor company! Ive used Romney pest control for four years now. They are always very professional and they do an outstanding job. They go the extra mile to make sure that what you need done is taken care of. They will even come back and make an extra trip to your home if you notice things are not the way they should be after their initial visit. I think they are a great company to do business with. We have had Romney out to spray our home twice now, on our quarterly plan. The technicians are always super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I love that I can rest easy knowing that if we see bugs between treatments they will come back at no charge and respray. We found some termites on a tree in the yard and called Romney to come check it out. The rep was SO knowledgeable, he really knew his termites. Romney Pest Control has been our bug company for awhile now and their service is excellent! They have professional technicians and their office staff is always helpful with scheduling. The technicians are diligent in getting all the fire ant mounds in our large yard. We had them install their new termite monitoring system at our last service and it seems like it will be a great way to consistently monitor any potential termite activity--and it will help me not be completely paranoid about termites! We've been using Romney for the past 3 year (or maybe longer?) Anyway, the technicians are always on time, very knowledgeable, and extremely friendly! We do the bi-monthly treatments, pay roughly $95 and the service is guaranteed. They will come back if there are any problems that were not taken care of and there is no extra fee! They have updated their calling systems, emails, and if you prefer, you can still call in and talk to a live person! When my wife signed up for a "promotional special" they gave her the impression that we pay every three months for their quarterly services and can stop at any time. We decided to go ahead and skip one of the quarterly services due to the holidays and being laid off from work. When we told them we would be opting out of there quarterly service we where then informed that we were locked in to a contract. When we signed up we were told we'd be able to stop the services at any time. which turned out to be a lie. We would have continued with there company after this quarter but after being treated like just another number on a page and not a valued customer we will be moving to another company. The service they provided I was happy with but after finding out the way they conduct there business I lost all respect. It seems now that the sales rep was just telling us what we wanted to hear to make a sale. read more

My husband contacted Romney after reading the excellent reviews on Yelp. We have signed up for quarterly service and have had one treatment so far with one follow up to check for a dead critter based on the smell drifting into our house. The original service rep was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer my questions. It appears he did a thorough job treating both the inside and outside of our home. The follow up rep did a complete search for the smelly critter but was not able to find anything so he left some treated cotton balls to help soak up the odor. This helped. On both occasions the rep has called ahead to let us know they are on their way and they have showed up on time. They have both been respectful and professional. We received a follow up call from the general manager the day after our last visit to see how everything is going. Somehow, I don't think we would have received this type of call from one of the national franchise operations. We feel like we're in good hands as on both visits the rep has stressed that we should feel free to call immediately with any questions or concerns. We would highly recommend Romney to our friends and family. read more

Technicians are friendly but I believe this company is unorganized, office has horrible customer service, they demand money for services that have no even been rendered, I have over half an acre yard and if you don't watch the technicians they will only treat half of your yard so be sure to keep an eye on them to make sure they do the whole yard if you use this company. One tech stood in my house and stated he was trying to find a song to listen to before he continued spraying mid way through treating my interior. I have cancelled my contract with them and do not recommend using this company. read more

As a small business owner myself, it really upsets me when other owners "trick" clients into contracts. In the spring of 2013 a couple gentlemen knocked on my door from Romney Pest Control. One introduced himself as the owner and the younger gentlemen was "In Training". As expected, the owner took the next few minutes pitching his services. After the pitch, the owner suggested I'd get a package where he came out the maximum amount of times each year. I stopped him there and said I appreciated his time, but I would only be interested if his costs were comparable to mine. Quickly the owner changed his pitch and reduced the services by half, even saying it isn't necessary for him to come out the maximum amount. Unfortunately, I should have known right then, that Romney Pest Control was only trying to get a sale. After a few more minutes he convinced me to use his services. Before signing anything, I asked about his cancellation policy. The owner looked at me and said I could cancel my services at any time, for no charge, but he would sincerely appreciate it if I would give him a season to win my business. We shook hands and the trainee quickly took down my information and had me initial and sign a few spots. Fast forward to Spring 2014 (the following year) and I've decided to take back my yard responsibilities. I spoke with 2 reps, one being the office manager, at Romney Pest Control today and they have informed me that I was locked into a contract and I would need to pay a $125 cancellation fee if I wanted to terminate my contract. I have a vivid memory, it's just how I'm wired, so I am upset to hear this. Unfortunately the manager said she could do nothing, so now I'm faced with finishing my service contract or paying the cancellation fee. Looking back now, I guess you still need to read the SMALL print, even when the owner looks you in the eye and shakes your hand. As for Romney's service, I had a interior bug problem and even after Romney coming out twice, they couldn't take care of it. That's when I went to Lowes and bought, what Romney Pest Control claims to be a 4-5 times less powerful insecticide, to take care of the problem. Guess it goes back to the old saying "if you want something done right, you better do it yourself". read more

We know it was one of their service technicians because aside from my wife and I, only their service techs have access to that room in our home. Unfortunately, Romney sends a different technician each time and we are not sure of the exact date that the jewelry was taken.
