We bought a used F250 within this last year- we arranged to have a few things done to truck but once we got the truck home all communication with customer service ended. Had to call multiple times for the plates etc. few months down the road starting having issues with the truck and stayed in the shop for almost 3 weeks with the mechanic having trouble fixing the issue. Long story short- got smart and googled the VIN and the vehicle came from a salvage yard with multiple large issues including the transmission being inoperable. Clear Carfax at closing, no mention of any prior issues. We got swindled. Moral of the story: Don't trust really any dealership and check the VIN before buying. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The manager, Marvin, is a snake in the grass and a con artist. Not only did he screw me and my husband over while we were in the middle of purchasing a car (while I'm 9.5 months pregnant), he also screwed over two of his sales associates by losing them a deal. One of them being new and lacking the guidance they needed from an appropriate manager. Sold the car we had a purchase order going right out from under us AFTER negotiating and working on sending over the appropriate funding. We still do not believe a word he said, and that he intentionally scammed another customer so he could benefit from the Rob Carter financing vs. our much lower rate (12% vs 5%). Worst place I've ever wasted time! I set an appt. through Car Gurus and spoke with salesman, Juan Gomez. We verified my time to test drive, since I had a 2-hour drive to the dealer. I had my eye set on a 2022 F-450, King Ranch. The morning of my appt. I called and asked Juan if there was anything wrong with the truck, since it had been at dealer approximately 4 months and on Car Gurus for a few days shy of 1 YEAR. "No, it's perfect", I was told. When I walked up to the front of the truck I noticed rust bubbling up under the front bumper's paint. I crawled under the front of the truck and all the suspension had heavy rust, as did the frame. All wheels had corrosion and all aluminum engine parts were also corroded. As you might have guessed, I drove across the world to buy a 2022 F-450 at Lone Star Chevrolet, the very same day! read more

Decided to make the purchase on a vehicle and later they raised the price 2700.00 for make ready, oil change, and spray in bed liner which it already had. We only caught it when the financing numbers didn't add up. That's fraud, plain and simple. they deleted my review on Google. Scheduled an appointment to meet with Blake, but when we arrived, no one seemed to know anything about it--and we were never informed that Blake had left for the day. There was zero communication. Another salesman stepped in and was friendly, but shortly after, we were handed off again to a different sales rep who was completely unprofessional. He barely spoke, seemed uninterested, and made no effort to connect or help. We were there to see a Blue Certified vehicle that had supposedly passed a 139-point inspection. But as soon as we looked it over, we found broken interior pieces, scratches, stains, and peeling vinyl. During the test drive, we noticed the blind spot sensors weren't working--something that absolutely should have been caught in a proper inspection. When I brought it up, the salesperson didn't seem to believe me and had to get in the car himself to check. Throughout the entire visit, he avoided communication, relied on others to do the work, and made us feel like an inconvenience. To top it off, the car was priced nearly $10,000 above KBB value. When I mentioned this, I was told, "KBB doesn't sell vehicles." Maybe not--but it certainly shows when a car is severely overpriced. Between the poor communication, the misleading certification, and the dismissive attitude, this was one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I've had. Very deceptive sales practices. We went to test drive a truck that we had researched online and the sales price on the window sticker is not the sales price, they are adding an additional over $10,000 in "options" that have already been added to the truck but do not have on the window sticker. The sales manager, Victor, didn't care and said that it's listed in the fine print on the website that they can add "dealer" options to the vehicle and not display them on the website price. Absolutely horrendous customer service and I do not recommend. Ron Carter used to be great but it's a crap show now. An additional comment is the salesperson, AZ, didn't even act like he wanted to help us when we walked in even though we set up the appointment online and they contacted us about coming in to test drive the truck. read more

Service department is horrible, wouldn't let them service my bicycle let alone my car. One service writer will tell you one thing, then another will tell you another thing. One minutes is $469, when I called them out on it, oh yeah they charged you for the part 2x it is going to be $300 and then a phone call the yeah other two service made a mistake it's $520. Worst dealership experience ever. Got an online quote for a Mustang GT which seemed to be too good to be true. Salesperson refused to provide an offer sheet and wants me to come to the dealership....seems sketchy but I drove an hour from Houston to go to the dealer thinking that even if they give me a slightly higher price it will still be a good deal and then they tell me that they got the quote wrong and it was for a base model. So they then proceed to give the actual numbers for the car I wanted and obviously they are ridiculously high....much higher than quotes I've received from other dealers. Mechanics are careless. Don't take your F250 to Ron Carter in Alvin. I've been here before and never had any issues. I went in for an oil change and fuel filter job and took three hours to get my truck back. The cabin filter was changed and all of my stuff in my glove box was laying on my center console. That's unprofessional. I drive home and pull up to my brand new driveway and there's oil all over my concrete. My truck was leaking oil everywhere due to the Ford certified mechanic putting two gaskets on my oil filter. My truck was completely covered with oil since it was leaking all the way home. I called Ron Carter and explain the issue. They came out to my house within an hour to replace the oil filter and pour new oil in my truck which only took 20 minutes. read more

I was interested in a vehicle they had for sale so I obviously put in my inquiry. They proceeded to call me three times to schedule an appointment and verify they had the vehicle. They verified they had the vehicle and told me if it sold before my appointment they would call and notify me. The very next day, first thing in the morning, I drive 40minutes to go there to see this vehicle. They sit me down proceed to tell me it suddenly sold but hey here's another vehicle you can look at. We are a business and went in with a LOC available balance of almost $150k. We only use Ford LOC and nothing else It was a raptor and I would be trading in 2 trucks. Dexter was sales guy. Needless to say they lowballed trades and said Ford wanted $20k more down. No problem, we divided we would not proceed. Told him no thanks, it wasn't worth it and we would keep trucks. That should have been the end. Monday he calls and has run our business credit to no end. Needless to say, in my opinion, these guys are shady and do not care about customers, much less know they probably won't have any returning customers. I'm beyond pissed that they continue to run credit and will be taking this up the chain to Ford. Read their reviews shop at McRee Ford. Much better service. Horrible communication, horrible service and horrible technicians - not mechanics because they don't deserve to be called that. Take your car anywhere else. The gas pedal stopped working momentarily while driving so I brought it in to be looked at. They took 3 days and $150 diagnostic fee to diagnose it, and said it was contamination on the crankshaft sensor caused by an oil leak. Said it would be about $2200 and would be ready by the following Tuesday. Tuesday there's no word so I call Wednesday and left a message for my non-service non-advisor Karla and was told she'd call me back. She didn't so I called again...and then again. Finally she said it would now be ready Friday, which means they hadn't touched it. OK. Picked it up that Friday instead, after 10 days of borrowing cars. A week later and my car has now been leaking coolant for the week and they want to charge me an extra $150 to "diagnose" they damage they probably caused, on top it not being covered by the warranty for whatever they did or didn't do last week. They can kiss my ass. Seriously, take your care anywhere else than to these incompetent thieves. read more

I am in the market for a new F 150. Found one on their website. spoke w/ a sales associate to confirm it was on the lot as stated. He said he would go check and get back with me, when do I want to come in. That day if possible. He said fine. I show up and the truck was sold just this morning. Hmmm, interesting. I asked the sales guy, with all the vehicles on the lot, you don't have another one? No, but I can have you look at others, both new and used. I asked him, bait and switch? Oh no ma'am. I told him that if he wants my business, he'll make it happen. Spoke to the Sales manager and he said he would have one brought in from another location. With that being said, I left a $5000. deposit. Fast forward a week, go to test drive the truck and for a new truck it drove sloppy. To much play in the steering. Drove it for 5 miles and made a decision that this was not what I wanted. My son in law and I wandered the lot looking and new and used trucks. I was interested in a new xlt super crew. The sales guy looked excited. $$ in his eyes. I asked him if we could negotiate a better price. That's the best we can do. Yea, no. I'm a cash customer. One and done. No financing if I can help it. The sales manager came to the desk, slapped down some paperwork, showed me what he paid for it. I didn't care what he paid for it. It's just gonna sit in my lot. I told him he should have NO problem selling it, just like the original. He wouldn't budge on the price of the other p/u either. The sales man was giving me grief, how I asked for the first truck that was crap and how the other truck was a good deal. Sales manager told me that's as good as it gets, take it or leave it. I went outside to talk it over with my son in law, he says, mom, I have a bad feeling about this. Very negative vibes. I told him to lets go get my deposit check and go somewhere else. Told this to the sales manager and he says that I'll be buying something off the lot. I said no, give me back my check. Sales manager straight up tells me now, that he will send me a refund check for $4000.00 He'll be keeping $1000. for the trouble of bringing in the replacement crap truck. Very disappointing I purchased three cars from Ron Carter. I spent over 2200 dollars on a 48,000 mile extended warranty for my vehicle. I was told when I was signing the paperwork that I was covered on all major repairs. I understand I was getting a used vehicle so that is why I paid so much for the extra warranty.. Please look at every box!! I already paid a high amount and a little but more for the seals and gaskets would have been ok with me. I am needing transmission seal repair now. Because that box was not checked on my contract they cannot help me!! I will never again purchase a vehicle from Ron their vehicles are no good, their word is no good, Neither will I ever have any vehicle service again at their service center. Friendly great service!! Went in for an inspection and my vehicle was immediately taken into the shop. While I waited, one of the sales associates came into the waiting room and offered me a bottle of water. Then i asked to see a new Mustang and she promptly escorted me outside and showed me several new Mustangs, one of which I sat in. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! They couldn't provide title to my 2019 Chevy Silverado High Country. They lied to me about a trade for another truck to get me to drive all the way back from California early. When I got there they expected me to buy another truck at full price that was 13k more expensive. When I asked them to try and work something out they basically said "Not our fault, sorry!" By they, I mean Dave Davenport, specifically. Had to twist their arm to get any money off another, worse vehicle. I didn't really like any of them so I made an appointment to see the manager the next day (by their suggestion, mind you) and he didn't have the courtesy to show up. They refused to pay any of the expenses I had put into accommodating them to get the truck back early. Long story short, don't bother with these guys. Some of the employees are good, but the management is unwilling to compromise at all, and Dave Davenport will lie to get what he needs from you. If you're curious, I got my new truck at Sterling McCall Chevrolet in Spring. Awesome service, they delivered my truck over an hour away after servicing it, cleaning it, and filling the tank. They have a "mandatory" Platinum Ceramic coating they apply to every vehicle. You can put a vehicle on order, wait a year for it to get delivered then when it shows up and they finally get all the information you need to proceed with the purchase they tell you about this mandatory $2K coating they are putting on a $22k truck. They claim they put this on every vehicle and it is not something you can opt out of. Then when you ask details about the coating they don't reply until late in the evening when you're busy picking up kids at daycare. Still don't provide any useful information about the coating other than it's a Ceramic coating. I mean it's $2k how long does it last? Who applies it? That's when they create the urgency. "I am calling to follow up on whether you will be taking delivery tonight". After you ask about details on ceramic coating a second time mind you you asked 4 hours earlier "It's a ceramic coat that's hand applied to the vehicle". "Unfortunately I cannot hold vehicle past tonight". So the same day they provide the actual purchase price which is not what was originally agreed to they decide to pull this and sell your vehicle you waited a year for to somebody else. To end Dealerships are Dealerships it's always a game. I bought another Ford earlier this year with minimal problems at Planet Ford in Spring. After I walked through the configuration with Justin, I was told that I couldn't put money down, because his General Manager had a previous client put money down, and then the GM turned around and sold the car to someone else with a 20k markup and it caused some issues (clearly). Although I was skeptical, I still decided to place my order. I was told to expect a confirmation email in 24-48 hours. After 5 days, I grew concerned and called the dealership. With a 6 month wait time, every day counts, so I left a message for the GSM, and received no response. I texted Justin and requested an order #, and was completely ghosted. Today, nearly 2 weeks later, I reached out to the dealership again, and STILL can't get ahold of Justin or the GSM. Absolutely awful service. On August 8, 2023 I took my Ford Edge to Ron Carter Ford in Alvin for an oil change and tire rotation. After oil change was done, Karla Wilson, the service advisor, advised me they could not rotate tires because ALL lug nuts were swollen and could not be removed!!!! Advised me to order new ones for $244.06 which I agreed to. Said she would call when they come in. On August 23, 2023 still had not heard from her. Called and left message for her to return my call with update on order. No response 4 hours later. Called again and went to voicemail. Didn't leave message but called main number for service and talked to a gentleman (didn't get name) and he said he would check on it and call me back. Still no response from them. Purchased a low mileage diesel truck, 72k miles, after a few hours, the deal was finally in the finance department. Problem 1- I could not have been any clearer about financing. I told the young man I have financing through AMOCO, do not run my credit. I stressed this quite a few times. We fill out the paperwork, and within 2 minutes, I received notifications on my phone for 3 inquiries on my credit. WTF did they not understand?? Problem 2- while waiting for help to move items from my trade into the new vehicle, I noticed a fresh quarter size chunk of paint missing on the tailgate that was not there when I test drove it a few days back. I politely asked the salesman if he'd throw in a tube of touch up paint. He goes back and asks. He returns with an upset look on his face, he was told that he could give it to me if he paid for it out of his pocket. What is a 5.00 - 10.00 item to keep a customer? Problem 3, the deal that lost a customer- I drive the truck home 16 miles. I come out the next morning and noticed a nice sized spot of black engine oil under the truck. I crawl under and look around to find a substantial leak. Reached out to them for a possible remedy. I was asked if I purchased the 4000.00 extended warranty, if not, sorry you bought it as is. Didn't even get to put 50 miles on the truck and have a 5600.00 repair to fix an oil leak that is coming from where the block halves go together. Apparently the entire engine must come out and be disassembled to repair. I have to spend an additional 6 thousand dollars before I can even enjoy the truck, beyond pissed. The repair shop has had possession of it longer than I have. I have spoken to an attorney, so we will see what happens. Carfax also showed no accidents, I find quite a bit of evidence of bodywork and a repaint. When I say this place has lost a customer, it's an understatement. read more

Never again will I ever come here ever again!! my husband and I brought in our 2016 Ford F150 for service on a Saturday morning. We dropped off our truck and told that we would have an estimate by Monday no later than Tuesday. Tuesdays around we have no estimate. No one has called or left a message. My husband finally called left a message. No one returns the call...Wednesday comes around. He calls back finally gets a hold of someone Apparently the whole time she was calling the wrong number even after we updated all the information that Saturday and she asked for his phone number at least four different times during our initial encounter. We give it until Thursday afternoon. Still no estimate...we call back and now they say they don't know when we'll have an estimate. Thursday later in the afternoon we call and say we are coming to pick up the truck. We no longer want work done by them. We go to pick up the truck and magically now We have an estimate and a half a** one at that. We figured we would still be charged a diagnostic fee. Most other places charge 175 and we were prepared to pay that. Then they tell us it is $380. I told him we were not paying for that when they did not even complete the estimate And our truck was sitting there for almost a week...just sitting.We asked to speak to the manager at that point. He talked to us and like any other manager tried to be very convincing saying Give us another chance this and that and so we did because at this point he promised to have our estimate ready by the following morning (which he dis) and have our truck worked on and ready to be turned back into us by Tuesday. We decided to give it another chance and have them work on our truck. The lack of communication is what really aggravated me the most and the fact that they still continued to call the wrong number despite updating it with them supposedly so many different times. There was also a hiccup with them getting parts in on time and they miraculously did end up pulling off getting our truck to us by Tuesday evening. We picked it up Wednesday morning and Everything was good and great. Come Saturday we are driving out of town and the check engine light comes on once again. I called the dealership. No one is available. I leave a message. No phone calls are returned. I sent an email to the associate and her manager. No one responds to the emails. It is now Wednesday and I have yet to receive a response to my emails or a phone call back from anyone in the dealership. Something also happened with the state inspection that they did there. It was not showing up in the system when I tried to get my registration sticker online so now we have to take the truck back so that they can do it again or give us proof that they did it. my husband is now on his way to take the truck in to speak with someone in person about the check engine light being on since no one will return our phone calls or respond to our emails. We needed to upgrade to a bigger vehicle to pull a large tractor, loads of logs, travel trailer etc. we bought a new ford 250 super duty truck that just quit in the middle of the road after having it 3-4 days. I had to pay $70 extra to have it towed back to Alvin from Galveston. I figured it needed to go back there since we had had it LESS THAN A WEEK! We were not able to work for the time it was being repaired so that cost us $$$ also. The computer had to be replaced. Buying a new vehicle is an event I hope I never have to repeat. Our salesman was wonderful so no complaints there. It it what it is, just takes a whole day. The service department could be a little more sympathetic. Feel like they should have put us first in line Since this was a Ford problem not something we did. I also feel they should have reimbursed me, at least, the $70 I was out for the towing but that fell on deaf ears. All in all, this cost us an extra couple of thousand dollars, cancelled appointments and work. This event has left me feeling used,like I'm a chump. Not a good feeling at all. read more
