I purchased my Fiesta ST from another dealership in town. My first two oil changes were through them. It took no less than 1.5 hrs each time, and they refuse to take appointments, leaving busy working people at the mercy of things being up int he air... which I cannot work with. Recently, we moved to the Joliet area, and as I was not super impressed with the service department at the other dealership, I decided to give Ron Tirapelli a try based on their glowing reviews. They did not disappoint. Not only did they get me in the next day, they allowed me to make an appointment (shocker) and had me out the door in less then 45 minutes total. I went in for oil change, they came back said engine cracked and need in replace of a new one. Lucky I was under warranty. Once they replace a new one, my car have problem ever since! One year and a few months I bought a car for my daughter. Dealer said it was a good car volkswagen jetta 2015. I went to them on oil issue and they couldn't find anything and told me to go over to volkswagen. And they said they can't do anything do to took much to take all apart. Ron tripoli ford shorewood is not honest or told us that this car has issues. I financed 60 Mos and not told car stops working and now over 18,000.00 worth of repairs in the engine. Now my daughter has no way to school and work due to them being not honest with us. And look like they never really check the car out at all. All this stuff is broken and I think dealer knew this. I also found out the owner was my friends boyfriend friend who took the car to rin tropili ford dealer joliet/shorewood and the kid said I get rid of this due to all the problems. Stopped by a few nights ago to look at the new bronco. When we walked in we were greeted with a friendly hello but that quickly changed! I believe the salesman's name was Collin. I apologized for stopping in so close to closing time but told him we just wanted to look at the vehicle and would come back to test drive it on another day. He proceeded to find the inventory number and get the keys with a look of complete discuss. As we were walking outside he said, "I DONT MEAN TO RUSH YOU BUT I NEED TO RUSH YOU." I had a great experience with the service center. I brought in my vehicle for transmission issues. Tests were going to take multiple hours, and a loaner car wasn't available that day. Abe still was able to get me a ride home, and then when I was told my vehicle would be there a few days I was able to get a loaner the next day when one was available. Went in for an oil change, they found a wire stuck in my tire. I bought 4 new tires from them. One went flat after a week they did come out and repair it (bad seal) I inquired that I wanted road hazard tire insurance, and they said they could not let me pay the extra money since it has been 6 days. They should have sold us that at the time of the tire purchase. Now I will be out money for a new tire should I get a nail. read more

I'm not sure how they stay in business. Just look at all the 1 star reviews with zero responses from dealership to address issues or make changes. Both service repair and sales are horrible & dishonest. Took Ford Expedition in for 2 recalls and left with more problems than I went in with. How is it that when I picked up vehicle the air conditioning no longer works and rear hatch door no longer operates correctly. Both had no problems when vehicle went in for service. They break stuff so you have to come back. It's as if they got mad we didn't do the additional work they recommended so they broke other stuff we need. It's to impossible for both to break exactly when picking up vehicle, so they had to do it. Since I'm already writing a review the sales management is extremely greedy. I've tried to buy 2 vehicles from them, but they low ball trade in. Last time I tried they offered 12k less than I received from other dealers. I just laughed and asked for my keys back. I walked in at the last minute after speaking with several other dealers over the past couple weeks. At this point I walked in very defensive due to other dealers wanting to undercut me on my trade in. I was created immediately by very eager salesman Tim Travis.. We talked for a bit and we walked the lot. After driving several trucks we narrowed down on a all Blacked out 2016 F-150XLT Sport. I explained where I needed to be with regards to payments. Tim forwarded all my info to Gm Rob Swayka. He worked his magic and got me within $2 of my budgeted allowance. I also worked with finance manager Mike Castro on my warranty. My last truck went 14 years 360k . I am definitely looking to several years of family trips get always and fishing trips for the years to come. read more

We went to Tirapelli Ford to look at a specific used car. Upon arrival we told the salesman Edgar that if it smells inside we would not be making the purchase. It smelled. Edgar said he could have the service team do some work to get rid of the smell but it would be a few hours. We liked the car and gave him the time. We returned and noticed that although the smell was definitely better, it was still present. Edgar said if it gets worse then we could bring it back and he would have it cleaned again. We buy the car. Get home and find that not only has the cabin filter apparently never been changed, but there is a dead mouse in there. So the smell was both cigarette smoke and decomposition. Called right away and couldn't get someone to call back. My wife finally got a "Used car manager" on the phone and told him the whole story. He told her "you bought a used car lady, what do you expect". He kept talking down to her and calling her "lady" and when she said she refrained from posting a negative experience on social media he said "go ahead lady, knock your socks off", and hung up on her. 2 things 1) if you are a female, be prepared to have someone talk down to you here 2) most dealerships refuse to inspect the cabin filter because it's operation is not a "safety feature", but having decomposing animals in your car is a health issue. When vehicles sit on the lot for any amount of time they become a habitat. I'm attaching photos and apologize in advance if anyone has issues with the mouse. Please don't look at the pictures if this affects you. We just brought the car back and they will be ionizing the car again a couple times over the weekend. I bought a used 2018 ford edge sport from here and had a horrible experience from the people on top. Before I get to the bad, let me tell you the good. Justin, my sales rep was great and patient with me as I tried negotiating the price. I have to admit, the price was great for the amount of miles it had. Only two good things, Justin and listed car price. Now to the bad, the car was listed around $29K. When I get there they tell there is an additional fee, inspection fee $700 or whatever they want to call it. Justin at first got the additional fee waived and I was happy with that. I wanted more off the car but they wouldn't bite. I live an hour away from the dealer, so I told Justin I'm going to walk for now, get a bite to eat in the area that i need to think it over lunch. Justin said that is fine. During my lunch, Justin and I were texting as I still was trying to negotiate a better price. Reason why they weren't budging because it was the best price, best year with the lowest miles on the car, 29K, 24K miles and plus they waived the inspection fee. After further thought, i agreed to the price and said I will be back in after my lunch to purchase the car. At this point, all is good. I sit down, starting the paperwork to run my credit and get this sale finalized. Justin, my sales rep, comes back and says he can NOT honor that waived inspection fee. At this point, I am thinking that the dealer is trying to retaliate because I stepped out to think about it and wanted to be petty. After further digging, to find out, my sales rep asked the Sales Manager to approve the waived fee because the used sales car manager was no where to be found when we first started talking price. When the used car sales manager found out what was going on because he was finally around, he denied me the price and how he tells me gets BAD.. This is where it gets WORSE! The used car sales manager, RANDY, comes by Justin and I to explain because I asked for an explanation because I felt like this was coming off really bad. Randy starts going off saying that i should have bought the car when he wasn't around because he would have never waived that fee. There was no professionalism in his part, his tone of voice, his demeanor, and should have to work with potential clients directly. He walks away! Here I am a little annoyed how he talked to and I go walk up to him his little desk in the front where all the other employees are at. I ask hom calmly if we can discuss this and that I need further explanation because I did not like how he was talking to me. He looked annoyed, slowly took off this glasses and says " what makes you think I would waive that fee". I responded with "this is how you talk to potential client". Randy Responds "did you ever buy from us?" I said "no", Randy says "then you aren't our customer" At this point I really wanted to choke this man but i kept my cool. I left and made sure I got the general managers info because I wanted to report Randy's behavior. Luckily, the staff all witnessed all this to back up my story. The next day, I sent Cen, the general manager my detailed experience over email and that i would give him a call after he spoke to Justin to back up my story. Cen and I got to talking on the phone and explained the fee, and how the car was already so cheap and that waiving the fee that they wouldn't make any money off the car. Blah blah blah!! The way he explained it was professional compared to Randy. Randy has no business dealing with the public. I told Cen if he would have explained it professionally that I would have possibly taken the car with the fee. Even after this horrible experience, you would think they would eat the cost and call it a day, but nooooooo.. price was with the fee. I said fine, whatever, lets just do this. I go back in, I buy the car, never got greeted by the GM. You hear shady stories about dealers, this is one and was just poor communication/customer service. BEWARE- I called service inquiring repair on 6/7/22. The agent was extremely nice. I dropped off my vehicle on 6/9/22 ALL DOWNHILL FROM THERE. Austin Davis checked me in. No greeting prior to asking for the keys. I requested to retrieve items from the vehicle prior to being pulled into service. Austin advised me to wait until car is pulled into service then items can be retrieved. After check in, I asked Austin where is the vehicle? Austin stated "Alex is taking it into service". My request was totally ignored! Austin yelled outside "Alex, let her get things from the vehicle". Fast forward- 6/10/22 Called at 9:50 am for an update on an estimate. Keep in mind, my vehicle was first for service. When requesting an update from Austin, straight answers weren't provided. I called 2 hours later and Austin advised, email was sent with estimate. I told Austin email not received. I asked Austin to send the email again. Austin recreated an email (his words) and sent it to me. coincidently, I received the email while on the line with him. read more

Save yourself the headache and go to another dealership. We buy a lot of vehicles and this is THE WORST experience we've ever had. Lies, misdirection, a rude used car manager, phone calls go unreturned... Day 1: went to look at a used Malibu but, when we got there, the car smelled like death and ashtray. Told Edgar I wouldn't even sit in it to test drive it. He said they'd get the smell out and we could come back in about 2-3 hours. No big deal, as we had another place to check out for 2 Malibus. Edgar calls and says "We got the smell out." We head back to check out the car and all I smell is air freshener. It was very strong. I told him I'm not sure what's worse! We drove the car and everything seemed OK, aside from the powerful air freshener smell. I had specifically told him on the phone, before coming there, that I will not drive a car that smells like anything other than a car. No pets, no cigarettes, no dirty butts, no perfume smells. We chose to purchase the car, unfortunately, and as we were leaving I asked, "What happens if the smell comes back? Edgar said, "Just bring the car back and we'll treat it again." Cool. Day 3, the smell of the air freshener starts to fade somewhat and now the other odors are returning. I ordered a new cabin air filter because they told me that's not a part of their inspection process. Gross, but ok... Thus us Wednesday the 21st, and I decided to open up the cabin filter area to see what shape it was in. HOLY FREAKING GOD! The things I found... I tried to call the dealership but it was 8:50pm and they had a recording saying they're closed. I had to use my shop vac to try & get all the mouse nest material out of there. The filter even had chew marks on it. It was the nastiest thing I've ever found in a newly purchased car. The next morning I emailed Edgar the photos. This begins a days-long back & forth of emails and dodged phone calls. Edgar tells me he's spoken to the GM and they're both just horrified and want to make this right. (ie: eimburse me for the filter, retreat the vehicle). BUT Edgar says he needs to run this past the used car manager first. He says he'll call me the next day. No call. 2 days pass and I can't even drive the car. It's Friday and I'm supposed to get a call from the manager. The car is just sitting in my garage because i dont feel comfortable driving it with all the chewed up insulation in there blowing around. It's now Saturday the 24th and I decided to call Firestone to ask if they could inspect it to make sure all the debris is out and that nothing else is in there to make me sick. I spent around $100 for them to pull a DEAD MOUSE out of the fan. I sent the pics to Edgar and he assures me I'll be getting a phone call. Nothing. Here we are 10 days after purchase, and still no call. He literally PROMISED me the used car manager would call me Monday. Nothin. I was very patient, not trying to be a nag but they never called. I finally called today and spoke to him myself, which apparently I should have done from the beginning. He had such a disdainful tone from jump. I said, "I take it from your tone you have not been brought up to speed by Edgar." He said he has no idea what I was talking about. Edgar had been lying to me for a week! He proceeds to be very rude to me, saying "Look ma'am, you bought a used car as-is, what do you want me to do?" (Not new information, but his tone was garbage) I asked him about all the lies I was fed by Edgar. He said there's nothing they can do. I said, "so, regardless of what I was promised, you're basically telling me I'm screwed." He said, "that's EXACTLY what I'm telling you." I told him I've been very patient, waiting for a solution and I've stayed off of social media, giving them a chance to follow thru. He interrupted me and said, "Go ahead lady and knock your socks off!" I started to say something else regarding bringing the car back for ionizer treatment, as promised, but he interrupted me again, saying "You go ahead and have yourself a nice evening, ok?" (The tone was again, garbage) He HUNG UP ON ME. I never yelled or swore. I was as calm as I possibly could have been for a person who just got told to pound it, in so many words. Tonight we visited the dealership after that call, and will be getting reimbursed for part of what I've spent, but no apology was made for the lies, lack of communication, and false promises. There's no solution. I'm stuck with a car that I specifically told them I wouldn't want if it smelled bad. I feel like I'm being punished. Every time I drive this car I feel like throwing up. Not just from the smell, but from the entire experience. I don't trust them and I would not recommend them to anyone. This is the epitome of shady car salesmen. I worked in dealership management in the 90's for a few years. Week of Dec 25 someone from out of town had a heater blower motor problem. We called service dept and talked to Dave, only person working the service desk that day. After explaining the situation to Dave he said if we could drop it off he would work it in between appointments. F150 was diagnosed that day, and repaired and picked up the next day!!! We can't say THANK YOU enough. Also a huge thank you to the employees that usually have different roles at the dealership (some that have their own offices), they were jockeying cars around for service that day, and did it with a smile. The following incident was not publicly published earlier as I was waiting for a response from the Ford Motor Company which to date has not happened. My wife and I purchased a car from Ron Tirapelli Ford around April 14, 2021. Our sales persons, Edgar and Ray, were both outstanding and it was a pleasure doing business with them. The problem came at the end of our negotiations on a car which our salesman, Ray, took up to the Finance Officer I thought. Ray had a quote for a Ford ESP from a Ford dealer on the Internet and I wanted him to see if Tirapelli Ford could match or beat the price. My wife was sitting at the table and saw our salesmen give it to somebody who became enraged judging from his body language. This person came back to our table and began yelling at us saying they had to make a profit on the sale (which they obviously were as we had to pay $2,000 over MSRP for the Mustang Mach E we purchased) and they couldn't do that given the price we showed him. Then he began yelling that he was going to buy the car we had just finished negotiating on and give it as a 16th birthday present for his son after checking with his wife. He stormed out of the building and left in his truck. My wife and I were both incredulous at what had happened and how we were treated by a total stranger from Tirapelli Ford. Ray left after this person and returned about 20 minutes later. We. asked Ray who had caused this and he told us it was the General Manager and part owner of Tirapelli Ford, Tom. Ray said the deal could go on as we had planned (he wouldn't talk about what just happened or the General Manager) and we then saw the Finance Officer who was also very helpful and did a great job. We left the dealership that night in shock but glad we had found a car that was in demand and in short supply. As far as our treatment goes by the General Manager, Tom, it was unbelievably unprofessional and poor. He embarrassed both my wife and I in front of everybody present at the time. I am a doctor and an assistant professor and I have never talked to my faculty, students, staff or patients like he did with us. He obviously has anger management issues. I will never return to this dealer for either sales or service because of what happened to us. Also, buyer beware of Tirapelli Ford as they will add an "ADM" to the price of cars when they should be sold at MSRP. Wish I could give zero stars. After purchasing a new car here, I am now terribly disappointed by their service department. On two separate occasions I have had to wait several days for an appointment. At the appointment, the customer service is very poor. I was asked to pay for the car to be checked even though I have a warranty. The parts have been on order past the promised time and now they won't even give me a time line for the repair. Last Monday, my baby, my Betty, my 2002 Ford Mustang went kaput. I was placed in the position of dropping a crap ton of money on her or buying a new car. It was sad and devastating. What was a girl to do? The damage to Betty made my parents uncomfortable with the idea of fixing her for me to continue driving. And so the research began. I knew I wanted a 2014 Focus. I was able to negotiate lower than sticker via a simple email. No haggle. No fuss. Moe called me within an hour and said they could definitely do that price. I made an appointment and off I went. I walked onto the lot around noon on a Saturday. I was looking at the Focuses for maybe two minutes when a salesman (Maynard) walked up to me. We looked at the car for a few minutes then agreed on a test drive. The car itself was so new on the lot that all of the plastic was still on the seats. (I could rave about the car but that's not the point here!) We drove it around a little and he showed me some of the fun features it has. We agreed on buying it then went in to do the paperwork. I was out of there in about two hours from start to finish. Yes, I was a cash customer but the speed in which they got everything squared away was impeccable. Horrible experience. The sales manager is aggressive and threatening. The only reason I didn't buy a car from the dealership was do to person lack of good people skills. I'm sure his act is successful at intimidating people into buying a car unless you have the ability to communicate any questions that you want an actual answer, then he becomes uber aggressive. I then decided I wanted to leave and wanted the papers i signed back. He refused and stated they were his. Then told me to leave or he was calling the cops. This was all in front of my kids. I never raised my voice or cursed at him. Though I did shush him so i could talk. This is when he threatened to call the cops. I would have stayed, waited but I had my kids with me so I left. Took my car in because my check brake system light came on and the mechanics there told me that it would be a little while till they found out what was going on. I sat there and watched them put the car in the garage and had the hood up but yet nobody took any tires off and looked at the brakes. Then the serviceman came out and told me that it was divots on my brake pads and rust and that I need a complete brake job done which is going to cost $1,200. I have a bumper to bumper warranty yes it doesn't cover brake pads because those are normal wear and tear but they didn't even know that it was brake pads because they never even checked. I am EXTREMELY upset with the experience I had at this dealership. I came in to test drive my dream Mom suv, which was wonderful and everything I had hoped for. It was literally the one I had been searching for with all the bells and whistles. My husband thought he was cool and tried to play the negotiating game, but the sales manager came over and was only able to reduce the price by about $500. I thought that was the start of the negotiations. The sales person we were dealing with was nice and friendly and tried to talk again to the sales manager, but my husband said we should just go; the dealership was closing and it wasn't going to happen. I didn't think we were actually going to leave and was pissed at my husband for leaving while I was waiting for my brother to get there to meet us about the car. Anyways, the next morning, Friday, I called the sales person on the cell number on his business card and was in talks with him throughout the day about the numbers. The last time I spoke with him he said the number we had been talking about looks good and he believes it will be approved. I was SO excited. He said he will call me Saturday morning to let me know when to come in and do all the paperwork, since it was his DAY OFF! That should've been my red flag! I haven't purchased a car in 13 years so why did he not tell me I could put a cash hold on the car? Why as the sales expert, did he not tell me my options knowing my interest? Saturday morning I got the phone call but not the one I was expecting. He said the car had been sold yesterday on his DAY OFF. I cried for 4 days! It's been over a month and I still can't find one in place of it. It makes me feel sick when I think about it. I know it's just a car, but I never have anything nice for me. I wish I could go back. I wish I would've just bought it that night. We've been going to this dealership for years and always have had a great experience with the service department representatives and sales, but this last July really put a horrible taste in our mouths. We had work done to my car before our move to Florida and part of the work that my paperwork says was done was not and this resulted in risky driving conditions. I notified them of what happened and after multiple attempts of trying to get a hold of the GM and service managers have completely ignored me, so I called Ford. Ford said that I should be reimbursed for the work that I had to have done once we got the car in Florida. Supposedly this has been submitted for reimbursement and Ford was told that the case was closed, but it's far from closed. I have not heard back from anyone at this dealership in weeks and again, multiple emails have been sent. Do not do business with these people. Very unprofessional and they're giving Ford a bad name. read more

Ok, so this review has less to do with the dealership itself and is more about their follow up. I went there to have a recall fixed on my ford escape, they got that taken care of just fine. A few weeks later however, I get this mailer from them that mimics government notices about court summons and traffic violations. I opened it only to realize it's a black hat ad for this Ford dealership. It's the kind of marketing that simply shouldn't be tolerated. read more

While the salesman was initially helpful, toward the end of the sale I felt like I was just a burden to him. (That should have been an indication to just leave then.) A month after I bought the car things started falling apart on it. Tirapelli's was no help at all, telling me "well that shouldn't happen, are you sure you didn't get in an accident?" and offering to do things like replace the whole front dash of my car (at my cost) instead of figuring out why for some reason my airbag cover was suddenly open for no reason and maybe even working with me to fix it. Bottom line: they're shady, don't stand behind their products, and are no help to their customers once they've got your money. I'd definitely steer clear. read more

Brought the vehicle in for a recall notice, oil change, the automatic foot operated door quit working and the front windshield leaks.. 1 Couldn't do recall because they didn't have the part 2 told me that the vehicle never had the foot operated door switch. I told them we had used it for about 1 1/2 so I know it did - he said it was never on my vehicles VIN build, after me having to be very persuasive that i was not crazy - the guy said he would look and call me back - calls me back and said he took at look at the vehicle and yes it did have this option, and he was sorry - but he didnt have the part to replace it either. 3. Asked about the front windshield , he said he would have to sendd it out or get a windshield service in , suggested I just put some caulk on the outside of the windshield - so they do anything with that either. they claimed they actually did the oil change , but who knows? Said I need to reschedule a couple of appointments so they could order the parts. I asked why cant you just order the parts and let me know when they are in? So taking your vehicle here is a complete waste of time. I have purchased about 18 new vehicles in my lifetime. This is my first and last Ford. read more

Stopped in to Ron Tirapelli Ford without an appointment on a weekday. Mark from the Service Department provided an excellent caliber of customer service. The price on my oil change was very competitive, and the location is convenient to I-55. The waiting room is comfortable, and the coffee was freshly brewed. Overall great experience. Will definitely return for future services! read more
