I am here from out-of-town working and my power steering started giving me trouble. Finding someone I can trust with my truck is not an easy task. My truck is my baby and like my dog, I don't trust her well-being to just anybody. Besides, we all know, most mechanics will shyster a female more often than not. I went to Yelp and found Freedom Automotive. The reviews were very favorable and the word "honest" was used A LOT! Brought my truck in and they looked at it. The power steering was leaking fluid, so they cleaned it up and really couldn't tell where the leak was coming from. Jose ordered the parts and I brought her back the next morning for repair. Do you know, these guys cleaned it up again, took it apart, found the leak was a loose hose, tightened it and then called to let me know just what exactly it was!! Didn't pull a fast one and tell me I had to have a new gear case or new hoses or both. Just called me, said it was a loose hose that they tightened and only charged me for labor. WHO IS THAT HONEST ANY MORE?!!? I am beyond grateful for Freedom Automotive. If God has a special place in Heaven for honest mechanics, Jose and everyone at Freedom Automotive have a golden seat. Brought the 2013 Impala in for an oil change and tire rotation.30 minutes later,Jose came and brought me to the car up in the air.He showed me some severe "play" in the left rear.some minor play on the right.Suggested i replace both original rear hub assemblies.Quoted me a price and had parts waiting the next morning..Thanks to Glenn and Jose for good service at a great value,and safer driving on the road.. read more

The mechanic not only did not fix my HVAC blower switch, but charged me $129.00 diagnostic fee just to tell me it would cost over $600.00 parts and labor, plus a $100.00 reprogramming charge. Not only have I been coming to this shop since it opened but had all my cars and trucks serviced there. I am afraid to walk in the door for fear it's going to cost me 6 or $700.00 for a minor repair. Getting back to the HVAC switch, I found 1 on the internet for $33.00 and it took my son 45 minutes to replace and program. Glenn seems like a good guy. He seems experienced. He seems hard working. The problem is that I paid him $450 to fix an overheating wheel, but he didn't fix it. On top of that, he had my car for a week before he got around to doing the work he thought would fix it. When I brought the car back, he said I should come back again if the wheel kept overheating...but, you see, I had already come back because it never stopped doing it! What I feel he should have said & done: "Tell you what....leave the car here and let me take a look at it tomorrow. If I can't find the problem I'll refund the labor charges for the work I did previously." So I'm $450 in the hole and still nowhere closer to a functioning wheel nor a trustworthy mechanic. Like I said, he seems like a nice guy. I'm just not convinced he should be a business owner and the head mechanic. read more

Finding a trustworthy auto repair shop is very hard to do these days but Glenn and the rest of the crew at Freedom Automotive are beyond compare. My dad first stumbled upon them when one of my grandparents' cars wouldn't start - Glenn sent someone to help my dad bring the car in to the shop to take a look at it. Dad was prepared to pay a pretty penny and hear something along the lines of "you need a new starter, or battery... Blah blah blah" but instead he was told the car just needed to be jumped and let the battery charge a little bit --and he didnt charge my dad for anything! (Dad ended up asking them to at least change the oil so he could pay them for something) --since then, this is the only place my family has brought their cars for repairs. Fast forward to last winter right before I moved to California--- I brought my SUV in and asked Glenn to check everything possible and fix whatever needed to be fixed/tuned up before I moved 2000 miles away. He did (for an excellent price) and before he gave me my keys back, he said, "Now, when you get out there, find an independently owned shop to use. Don't let me find out you went somewhere like Midas or (some other national repair shops) where they just want the sales, unless it's for tires. If you are ever anywhere and what they are telling you doesn't feel quite right, find somewhere else. You can always call me if you have any questions too." Now I'm in need of a car repair, and all I want is to be able to take my car to Glenn at Freedom. He seems to care about his clients genuinely. That is a rare quality to find these days. read more

I was very disappointed in my last visit. To begin, the problem with my car was never fixed. I understand it is hard to diagnose sometimes and you can only do your best, but it was kind of a let down. The worst part was that when I got my car back, the back part of my keys were missing. The back has never come off while in my possession, so this was alarming. Its the only set of keys I have and the battery keeps popping out. I called and I was told to "pop it back in" and that somebody would contact me. That never happened so I have no choice but to post here. Now my car is still not fixed and my keys are damaged. read more

I am 64 years old so I have been to a lot of repair shops over the years.This is probably the worst experience ever.My sons car broke down and we were refereed to this shop.It took 3 days to get back to us.My original estimate was for 678 dollars.They forgot to tell me that the towing was not included in that price,I know ,I should have asked however the big shock was that they doubled the price of the parts they used.I checked the price at Advance Auto and the parts were 230 dollars.They charged 430 dollars for the same parts.This is a total ripoff and unacceptable.I will never go back and will not recommend! read more

The owner, Glenn Corbet, sold my girlfriend a car last February and said, "If you find anything wrong with it, let me know and I'll take care of it." Within 2 weeks we noticed the car wouldn't shift into fourth gear. We let Glenn know and he told us to bring it in. We dropped the car at his shop and he had it for four days only to tell us the transmission was shot and that he would get us a working transmission to replace the bad one. Well here we are a year later and nothing has been done despite numerous phone calls and texts. Glenn Corbet is a liar, a con man and a thief. I would recommend steering clear of Freedom Automotive at all cost. There's just no reason to take the chance on being the one to get scammed by this place when there are so many other options in the area. read more

These guys are great!!! They have done some work for me in the past so when some jerk stole the catalytic converter off of my car they were the first ones I called. Glen got me in right away and David did the work for me. You can tell he's a perfectionist and he even fixed little things I needed while doing the new install! The whole staff is honest and pricing is fair. Try not to be skeptical or judgmental or a mooch. Only downside is it won't take 30 minutes or less it will be a while so try to get a ride and leave the vehicle, you get what you pay for, they are not experts on everything so if you have a super hard fix especially on a German or Japanese car it might have to go in to the manufacturer for big bucks unfortunately. Overall great bang for the buck for routine repairs. read more

For a few years I have had my service done here and was so happy to support a local small business. My most recent visit however, has convinced me that they have changed into an auto scam service. I brought my car in for new tires, letting them know I needed to wait for the car and had no one to pick me up. I also had a whining noise I asked them to diagnose. While the tires were being changed, I was told that the noise was the power steering pump failing. They could not just change that out, but also had to bleed the lines. With labor, the cost was over $800.00. I googled power steering pump repair and the signs didn't really fit, but I believed them. The tires were changed and the alignment machine was not working so they asked that I bring it back in a couple of hours. When the worker brought the keys in, he asked if I had noticed the brakes pulsing--they hadn't been. When I left there for the couple of hours, the brakes were GRINDING. When I brought it back for the alignment, I asked if changing the tires could have affected the brakes and was told no. They put it on the alignment machine and came back to tell me that the calipers were frozen on one of the rear brakes and that it was metal on metal. By now, I was suspicious and I took my car to Firestone. According to them, I had 20% on all three other brakes, but one was indeed frozen, requiring immediate replacement. I found the timing of one locking up as I'm leaving their business HIGHLY suspicious, but I guess it could have a coincidence. I did not have the faith in them at this point to trust the power steering failure diagnosis. A friend looked at the car today. He found that one of the serpentine belt pulleys was making the noise and changed a $40 part to fix the problem. He showed me where the power steering pump is, and it is no where near where the noise was coming from. I am now convinced that their intent was to take advantage of a single female and intentionally defraud me. Very disappointed (actually furious) that this has occurred but want people to make an informed choice. read more

Very big disappointment. I called in the morning to see if I needed an appointment. I explained that my engine light was on and was told a time that would be good for me to come in. When I arrived, I was told that they wouldn't have time to service my car. I asked if they could at do an oil change and at least check the code and give me an estimate. They completed the oil change and said that they reset the engine light and I should Return if it came back on. I drive away and realized that it was still on. I went back and had to wait AGAIN for someone to come to the desk. Someone went out to reset the light and apparently finished but no-one told me....they just left my car running. I left and the light came on again. Went back again (and had to wait again) and they refused to look at the codes even though they still had a few hours before closing time. They should have told me when I called that they wouldn't be able to help me...instead I wasted 2 hours on my only day off. I WILL NOT be going back!!!! read more
