I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with Dr. Sheidaei…read more During a very difficult time, when my father had just been discharged from the hospital in poor condition and I did not yet have a family doctor, I was referred to Dr. Sheidaei's office and was given an appointment. While on the way, I called to inform them I would be about 5 minutes late, but I was told I had no appointment and that the doctor was not accepting new patients, despite the fact that I had already been scheduled and selected under my insurance. I want to mention that the office itself was clean, quiet, and well organized. There were two receptionists present, and both of them were respectful, kind, and did their best to assist us professionally. After insisting, I was told to come in. My father was in a wheelchair, weak and confused, and needed care. Unfortunately, Dr. Sheidaei's behavior was very unprofessional. He appeared impatient, dismissive, and spoke to us in a disrespectful manner. He also stated that he does not accept Medi-Cal patients, which was confusing given the prior confirmation. What was most upsetting was the tone and attitude we received during such a vulnerable moment. Instead of compassion, we felt judged and unwelcome. When I asked if he could also see my mother in the future, he responded in a very inappropriate and humiliating way, saying in a threatening tone that I should "not push things" or he might refuse to see my father as well. This was extremely distressing and unacceptable, especially given my father's condition. I understand that medical offices are busy, but basic respect and professionalism should always be present, especially when dealing with patients in critical conditions. I started seeing her back in the 90's and have been going ever since. Not only is she one of the smartest people I have ever met, she is pure gold. She cares. She tells you the truth. She will explain everything and give you advice on how to live and eat well. She is a very special doctor, and others know about how special she is. Sometimes the front office staff can be a little "rushed" and "short" with you, but that never is the case with my doctor. I can tell her anything, and know she is there to give medical and worldly advice on all areas on life. We are so blessed to have Dr. Goodfellow.

During the intake call, staff discovered I had seen a different doctor at this practice a single time, six years ago. I stopped going back then because that doctor and her staff made me deeply uncomfortable -- I hadn't sought medical care since, largely because of that experience. When I explained this and asked to see the doctor I had actually selected, I was told the practice's policy required me to stay with the original doctor, with no exceptions. I asked to speak with a manager, explained my situation again in detail, and was told the same thing: I could only be seen by the doctor who made me uncomfortable in the first place, or not at all. I find it hard to understand how a medical practice can hear "this provider made me feel unsafe/uncomfortable, and it's the reason I avoided care for six years" and respond with a rigid scheduling policy instead of any flexibility or compassion. Patient comfort and trust should matter, especially when someone is finally trying to re-engage with their health after avoiding it. This policy actively discourages people from seeking care. I would not recommend this practice based on how this was handled.

She had been concerned about the drive to Irvine since she doesn't live in OC, but after meeting him today about a list of issues, she walked out feeling empowered and happy to be in some expert hands. I went with her to her appointment so I was there to see how he treated her. He asked her questions, listened to her answers, and carefully examined her as if she were his own mom. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that level of care and patience. Now my mom can't stop talking about how amazing Dr. Mikhail is -- she said that all her other doctors have never been so thorough. For instance, she has had breathing issues the last few years yet no one had ever had her do a breathing test to figure out the cause. Dr. Mikhail quickly got a test ready for her, then diagnosed and treated the issue. I can't thank Dr. Mikahil enough for all these years of outstanding service, expertise, and kindness. He is the kind of doctor that won't run batteries of tests on you unless it's actually called for. I now live 50 miles away from his office and will still make the drive down to see him. I've recommended a number of friends and colleagues to him throughout the years and they all agree that Dr. Mikhail is hands-down the BEST internist around. We are SO LUCKY to be his patients! P.S. Dr. Mikhail's office is WONDERFUL. They are on top of everything and are smart, patient, sweet, and always helpful.

They didnt even try to type out the link on the browser or anything because never got a notification that someone was requesting access to the link. They just looked at the link and said no come in with a hard copy we're not going to bother with the link. Rudest and most inconsiderate response and handling of a patient records. I have never had a doctor so lazy and ignore my health needs like this doctor. And his staff are extremely rude and condescending and rush you off the phone every time. This doctor didnt look at the blood work at all. Other doctors saw my blood work and recommended things based off my family history because they saw things that concerned them. And when I went back to ask him about it and to look at my labs again and order extra testing because of this condition that runs in my family, he literally dropped me as a patient and said "there's a problem with our doctor-patient relationship." This guy is joke and he doesn't even answer questions. If god forbid you have a question, he actually gets annoyed if you ask him too many questions. He is very impatient, lazy, not thorough, and gives off an atmosphere that he hates his job. The 5 star reviews in here are fake trust me.

Dr. Chang is a phenomenal doctor. He's dedicated, caring, and efficient. He always listens to any…read moreconcerns I may have and takes them seriously, and he never hesitates to refer me to a specialist when needed. I also appreciate that he has walk-in hours available for emergencies so you're not waiting for weeks (or even days) when you have an emergency or need to see the doctor urgently. (I've even had to schedule an urgent pre-op appointment and they worked really hard to make it work with my limited timeline and the doctor's limited availability). His front desk is also really great. If I need something, I don't need to ask for any specific person, they all know how to handle questions, cases, and concerns. Truly, they are great at what they do and they're incredibly efficient. When I ask for a referral or let them know about a concern, I know I don't have to follow-up and I will be hearing from the doctor or the office SOON. I even had a more urgent case that I wanted dealt with as quickly as possible, so I called and got the office's email and sent them the necessary paperwork before my specialist did and I had a referral and follow-up material within 24 hours. When you have lab tests, tests or xrays in general, or anything that requires your attention, someone will call and follow-up and update you on the situation and potential next steps. They may not be the gentlest about it but I prefer a straighforward approach so that I can handle whatever I'm dealing with as quickly and as best as possible. This office is kind, efficient, and very good at what they do. I've been coming here for YEARS, have gotten my family to come here as well, and hope to continue to be coming here for many more years to come. A truly fantastic doctor and office.
