I called and they scheduled a consultation appointment for as soon as they could. They do book up quickly since they are quite busy (I think that's a good sign). They are closed on Fridays. I wasn't sure what to expect. They do have good reviews on Yelp so they were 1 of the 2 orthodontist offices that I was considering. It also helped that our dental office referred Burke and Redford. We arrived a little late and checked in electronically. All the employees at the office were so nice and friendly. With the holidays and us just returning from vacation, I didn't get a chance to complete the paperwork online. They were like no problem and just gave me the paper form to fill out. I worked on the paperwork while they took x-rays for my 6 year old. We were being referred because our dentist saw what looks like a tooth growing over an existing tooth. To give context, my kids were over being in the office even before we got there. They wanted to do something they considered more fun with their time. Keeping in mind my kids not wanting to be there. Dr. Redford was super nice and patient. He asked and listened to my concerns. He then reviewed the images with me. My son didn't hold quite still so he wanted to have him do one more image to be completely sure before giving his recommendations for next steps. I thought Dr. Redford was very knowledgeable and professional. While we discussed my concerns and reviewed my 6 year olds images. They didn't waste time and took my 10 year to get his images taken.

I do have several extractions that need to be done by an oral surgeon, and I also have a couple of vacations coming up, so I understand that some of the larger dental work will need to wait until after those are completed. The only thing I wish had been handled differently is my cavities. Even though I have more extensive dental work ahead, I would have liked to start treating the cavities that are already causing some sensitivity, rather than waiting. My biggest concern is preventing them from getting worse while I'm working through the rest of my treatment plan. Going to the dentist is a huge milestone for me. I have significant dental anxiety, and it took me an entire year of therapy to get to the point where I could walk into a dental office. Because of that, I'm very motivated to take care of my teeth--not just the major procedures, but also the cavities before they progress. When I first started my search, I visited another dentist who quoted me nearly $8,000 for a root canal--even after insurance (Delta Dental). I was in pain, overwhelmed, and desperate for the right care. From the moment I called Ethos, I knew I was in good hands. The receptionists are some of the kindest, most attentive people I've ever met--they listen with care, are incredibly organized, and made sure I was seen right away. The team took into account my teeth sensitivity and took the time to explain the process thoroughly and made sure my whitening trays were precise and comfortable.
