I would strongly advise people to avoid Dr. Roncone's office. Their billing practices are some of the worst I've experienced with any medical provider. They charge a 3% credit card fee, which is especially frustrating when you're paying with an FSA card that's specifically meant for medical expenses. On top of that, there always seem to be additional fees layered into the bill. The impression I got is that the focus of this office is far more on collecting money than taking care of patients. Transparency around costs is poor, and the overall experience left me feeling like a transaction rather than a patient. There are plenty of dentists out there who treat patients with respect and don't nickel-and-dime them with unnecessary charges. My son needed a frenectomy. We made an appointment, and went in. Before the procedure, I was given an invoice for over $500. I asked if they had contacted my insurance. The billing person seemed upset, and said "I thought you didn't have insurance?" Not sure where they got that idea. She said that it takes 3 weeks to get insurance to approve the procedure. We left, because I'm not paying out of pocket, when that's the whole reason for having insurance. I did not have a good feeling about the whole exchange. We ended up going to a different periodontist. It took them 10 minutes to get approval from my insurance, and the procedure was done. read more

I have been with Dr. Roncone's office for over 20 years. As someone who has severe anxiety they have never been more accommodating and pleasant to me. It's very true that she focuses on "selling" and convincing you to go to her, but then once she has your money you mean nothing, and if you complain, she will gaslight you and blame you for mistakes that are very clearly her fault. She made some very big mistakes with us and then blamed us for "misunderstanding" her (and really everything else she could think of). We have no problems with comprehension and did nothing wrong. I'm glad I'm a strong person because someone in a more vulnerable situation might be too scared to ever get dental care again after being treated so poorly. She is extremely condescending and acts like you're stupid if you don't agree with her or you call her out about lying to you. Then she tells you you're the one lying! And now she is demanding payment in order for us to access our medical records and is unreasonably delaying getting them to us. Seriously considering reporting her. I want to preface my review by saying I'm sure Tinou is very knowledgeable and is an expert in her field. However, the experience I had at her office was one of the worst dental visits I've ever had. She simply comes off so cold and condescending, I felt like I was wasting her time by coming in. I have a great deal of anxiety surrounding dentists and it took me a lot of courage to come in and the way I was treated made me feel so small and hopeless. During the exam to check my teeth and gums she cut my lip with her tool and didn't even apologize. I had to ask her if my lip would be okay and she brushed me off saying it'd be fine. After the checkup we went into her side office and she scolded me for not taking better care of my teeth and gums. I felt so ashamed as I was trying to help myself get better by coming to her and instead was reprimanded for not doing more when I was a teenager. Why scold me about the past? It's already happened I can't go back and change it. She then proceeded to tell me that I'd likely develop heart disease and dementia as I got older, which was so awful to hear, and immediately jumped to surgery options. She didn't even offer me anything else, just went straight to surgery. I felt like she was telling me she had no hope for my case and defaulted to the worst case scenario. She didn't encourage me to get or do better. I don't feel like I was listened to or given the time to process what she had told me. It seriously felt like she just wanted me out of there as quickly as possible and posed surgery as my only option so she could make money off me as a patient. I've never cried so much after a dental appointment and am never going back to her office. Thinking of going back makes me feel terrible. It's not enough just to be book smart, have some compassion. When your doctor doesn't believe in your case it's hard to believe you'll get better. My situation has since improved greatly after going to a different dentist where the staff is so kind, understanding, and encouraging. If there's one thing I've learned from visiting Tinou's office is what NOT to look for in any future healthcare I seek. read more

Had a crown lengthening surgery. Work was done well, satisfied with that. A bit over priced for or area average and she has a bit of an attitude. Come to find out my insurance covered way less than the original 'estimate'. Asked for a discount and was called back saying the doctor said no. My husband was referred here for a gum problem. After taking many x-rays that he told her the referring dentist had just taken, she charged him over $300 for the honor of providing him with an enormous estimate and nothing else. We found a different dentist that was able to help him for a reasonable price, and the new dentist said none of the recommended treatment on her estimate was needed! She may actually be a very good dentist but I would not recommend her if you're on a budget! read more

While Dr. Roncone was a fine surgeon I am highly disappointed in her and her office. I was told that my insurance would pay 100% of a procedure. I later received a bill for $330. When I questioned the bill I was told that the office staff had made a mistake and written down the wrong amount of money I had left for my dental allowance for the year. They apologized and said it was their error but I still owed the money. I asked if we could split the cost and I was told no. Fresh graduating from dental school, I worked for Dr.Roncone for almost a year, until I realize that dental wasn't for me. Anyways a few things I will say working for her is that, the reasons why I'd recommend her to anyone is #1 she's honest. Yes, She's straight forward which she should be, If your going to a Periodontist office most of the time your teeth are getting to the point of almost falling out on their own so she needs to be direct in explaining to you what caused it and what needs to be done to prevent them from falling out, so you understand the importance. Secondly she will not do any treatments unless you need it! I saw patients coming in on their own to get a consultation without a referral and she was honest and told them a few areas to focus on when brushing , ect.. And sent them on their way. She understands treatment is expensive so she won't have you pay a fortune unless necessary.
