After visiting three different dentists for my son, we finally found the right one at Zak Dental in Temecula. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. We checked in early and were taken back promptly. After my son's X-rays, we met with Dr. Kopal through a video screen, which was a new experience for us. Dr. Kopal was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. He carefully explained the X-ray results, answered all of our questions, and walked us through every step of the procedure so we knew exactly what to expect. The staff was just as impressive. They clearly explained what our insurance would cover, what our out-of-pocket costs would be, and even offered flexible payment plan options. There were no surprises--everything was transparent and easy to understand. To our surprise and relief, the entire procedure was completed the very same day. My son and I left feeling genuinely cared for, respected, and confident that we had received the best possible treatment. I've never had such a positive experience at a dental office. I was disappointed with our experience at this dental office. My 22-year-old son was given a treatment plan for wisdom teeth #17 and #32 that included two bone replacement grafts and two resorbable barrier membranes, adding approximately $1,896 to the treatment cost. The estimate showed no insurance contribution for these procedures. I asked the office to explain why these additional procedures were medically necessary in my son's specific case, especially because he is young, has no known history of bone loss or periodontal disease, and other dental offices had not recommended grafting and membranes for his wisdom-tooth extractions. The office did try to explain the recommendation and mentioned concerns involving the nerves and healing. However, I still did not receive a clear explanation of why those concerns specifically required both bone grafts and barrier membranes, or what clinical finding made extraction without them inappropriate in his case. I also asked whether these procedures could be treated as optional, particularly since they were not covered by insurance. I was told that the dentist was not open to proceeding without them. After I continued asking for clarification and mentioned that other offices had not required these procedures, I was ultimately advised to have the treatment performed elsewhere. I have no problem paying for treatment that is medically necessary. But when nearly $1,900 of additional, uncovered procedures are being required, I believe a patient should be given a clear, case-specific explanation of the necessity, alternatives, risks, and consequences of declining them. We did not feel comfortable proceeding under those circumstances and decided to seek another opinion. read more

I called in with a referral for a tooth extraction and was told it was covered by my insurance. I asked multiple times to confirm and they assured me it was. Well, after being in the office for over 40 minutes, we were "seen" by a doctor via a video call only to be told that the procedure was NOT covered by insurance and we were quoted much more than the fancy place we had gone to prior. The office was extremely dusty and we were never seen in person by anyone. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

I scheduled an appointment with your office three weeks in advance, and I arrived on time on the appointment date and time expecting to be seen. However, I was informed upon arrival that the dentist was not in and that my appointment could not be honored. What is most concerning is that I received no prior notification of this cancellation. No one from your staff called, emailed, or texted to inform me that my appointment had been canceled or rescheduled. This lack of communication not only disrupted my schedule but also demonstrated a lack of consideration for your patients' time. I understand that emergencies and changes in availability can occur, but at the very least, patients should be contacted in advance so they are not inconvenienced or left without care. Worse case is that the representative attending was the "Operations Manager", very unprofessional and lack of understanding and communication. We went twice before I decided to write a review. Both appointments for my family were quite horrible it was almost laughable. I thought after our first appointment that maybe it was a fluke & we should give them another chance since we already had appointments set for my 2 other teens. The office is outdated & I still tried to overlook that. The front desk lady was the only one there today for our 2nd appointment and she took 20 minutes to do X-rays for each of my daughters. I saw 2 separate customers come in, wait at an empty front desk, then eventually give up and leave. The "exam" is done virtually through zoom with a condescending dentist and a rude assistant. It was obvious they are just trying to upsell everything! After the "exam" the rude assistant woman said she emailed me the treatment plan to sign. One for $500 and one for $2000. I said I would speak to my husband before signing it. When I opened the email it literally said: sign and approve. I told her that & she said that signing it would just confirm the dentist went over the plan with me. "I don't know where you got that info..." Super rude. She said they couldn't do the cleaning if I didn't sign. The front desk lady came up & said there wasn't a dentist on site anyways so we couldn't get the cleaning done. What! That's what our appointment was for. I said I wouldn't sign and the assistant on zoom became snarky & basically hung up the zoom. I felt like I was dealing with a slimy car salesman! We walked out and the front desk lady just looked amused. Don't waste your time! I'm in shock this place is in business. read more

Had 3 appointments since I broke my tooth and every time has been fantastic. The office staff is warm and welcoming, Dr Gallo is also fantastic! He explained exactly what he was doing and why. He listened to every concern I had and responded in a way I could understand. At no point did I ever feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable.
