This was a better experience than the last time I had an extraction from an oral surgeon in Huntington Beach a few years ago. It took a week for the pain to subside. Which was a more expensive place. After meeting Dr. Pledger, he mentioned that bone graphs are not recommended or necessary for standard wisdom tooth extractions, and local anesthetic is a perfectly fine option. My cost after insurance was under $300. I was very happy to do local anesthetic as it did not hurt and I was able to drive myself home right after the 20 or 30 minute operation. The car savings were significant and I'm glad Dr. Pledger talked me through the options so I could make a more informed decision versus being pushed into a specific (and more costly) treatment with my first consultation.

When I first started my search, I visited another dentist who quoted me nearly $8,000 for a root canal--even after insurance (Delta Dental). The receptionists are some of the kindest, most attentive people I've ever met--they listen with care, are incredibly organized, and made sure I was seen right away. The team took into account my teeth sensitivity and took the time to explain the process thoroughly and made sure my whitening trays were precise and comfortable. At that visit I also saw Dr. Sewell, who was so fun, energetic, and personable--he has a fantastic sense of humor and made the whole experience enjoyable.
