I recently was able to try this truck at the Salute To Recreation Festival! They have fries and Mac and cheese with different flavors! I got the Buffalo Chicken MAC and Cheese Fries and they were very yummy! My friends got the fries with shredded pork and they were also good. We were so full from other things at the festival that we couldn't finish our food. They also sell soda and other great things at the truck. I would come here again and eat when I am not so full! Their customer service could have been a little better as well but it was not awful like other trucks I've visited. Possibly more smiles and warmer possibilities. I was walking past the LACMA-la museum of art(5900 block Wilshire 1 block east of Fairfax) museum and saw this cool looking food truck. The guys working there were friendly and recommended their mac/cheese & hot dogs & mac/cheese & ribeye steak. Dogs were kosher with bacon grilled onions and the steak also had the onions and pimento peppers. Also had their BBQ pork mac sandwich w garlic fries for later which was another treat. Came across the Roni Macaroni food truck at Vegan Exchange LA. I had been craving mac & cheese for a while now so I didn't hesitate to order. I got the apple sage sausage & mushroom mac. ....I didn't like it. I wanted to like it soo bad, but it was missing seasoning. I wish I had access to salt & pepper because that is what it desperately needed. Other than the lack of seasoning the concept was a good idea. Nothing to brag about and not worth the price. We saw the food truck in LA in Grand Park yesterday. I spent almost $60 to feed me and my four children without buying drinks. Many food trucks were parked near the park close to the NoHo7 theatre last Thursday November 16th, and I had a chance to try Roni Macaroni Truck because I looove Mac and Cheese. My friend and I tried: The Steak Mac (steak, breadcrumbs) The L.A. Street Mac (hot dogs and pimento peppers) I was disappointed by the L.A. street mac: the sauce was very bland - I was looking for a robust cheese flavor (usually cheddar) but the sauce tasted more like mayonnaise. I think this may be due to water content in the overcooked noodles or liquid surrounding the pimento peppers or hot dog that was mixed in. My friend really enjoyed his Steak Mac and finished the whole Large bowl. He liked the steak quality (not overly chewy or overcooked) and the flavor of the house sauce suited him. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices weren't totally outrageous - but the quality VS the price got to me and made it a Meh.. experience. I would try the truck again, but I would get a small and try a different menu item - hopefully with less diluted cheese flavor. Got a chance to try this food truck last night at an event. I was pretty darn pleased with the food and service - especially considering they are literally brand new. The lovely gentlemen at the window told me he just started it only a few weeks ago. What We ordered: Parmesan and Truffle Oil French Fries - this was literally the best dish and Fries I've pretty much ever had in my life. Perfect as is. A MUST order! Sweet Potato Fries - Cooked perfectly. Fresh and delicious. Wish their had been a sipping sauce for them though! Even if just ranch. Small Mac with fajita steak, broccoli, jalapeño, and onion. - small size will easily fill you up. I liked it, but was not knock out impressed. There was either a lack in seasoning or overall cheesiness that left something to be desired a bit. Still good though! Overall I do wish they had a bit more 'preset' Mac options. There were only a few to choose from and after that it was kinda 'build your own' which is great but again more selection / guidance is always appreciated. The pasta is cooked to perfection the sauce is rich and creamy without being overly salty... it's just thoroughly enjoyable! Ate here at the lantern light festival. Overall way overpriced for what you get. The steak macaroni is $12 and barely has any meat. Macaroni is not that great either. Also got the pulled pork fries that was better but too much sauce on the pulled pork for my taste. Fries were nice and crispy. I was vegan for about three years, but I felt like I was missing out on too much good food and have since gone back to eating just about anything and everything. The key to any vegan mac and cheese is the sauce. I have tried sauces made from cashews and other nuts, as well as some made from vegetables. While each has been delicious and unique in its own way, they never seem to come close to the real deal. In my opinion, Roni Macaroni's vegan cheese sauce has set the bar very high.
