Located in LA's chef which is a food hall in Panorama City. The signage was pretty intriguing where you pick your base, protein, veggies, sauce etc. It's a build your own bowl kind of place. They have lots to choose from and they even have some that are already semi put together and you just modify as much as you want. There's a kiosk where you place your order so it's pretty easy. Since you're picking everything it's obviously made to order so the food is served really fresh. I got the beef and decided on two different bases, rice and udon noodles topped with a fried egg. It was delicious. My only complaint and it's really not a complaint. Was that the noodles had a sweeter sauce which I wasn't a fan of. I walked to LA Chefs Kitchen in search of Lumpia. I didn't see what I was looking for so I took to the instagram page of the food hall itself. My daughter and I were really excited to try this place. I am mostly plant based, my daughter is pescatarian and my son likes chicken. It's hard to find good spots where we can all get something from the menu. They were supposed to open at 3pm today. We almost ordered online after waiting since 2:45 for them to open but they had more topping choices in person. We left and came back at 3 still not open. At 3:15 we decided to eat somewhere else. It's 3:45 and STILL no one is there. There are Door Dash orders spewing out of the machine and fresh/frozen food deliveries left on the floor and counter. I love supporting local businesses so I really wanted to enjoy this place. Sadly, the entire experience was terrible. We went in person and ordered two Bulgogi bibi bowls and 6 chicken wings to go ($57) You have to order through a screen but the workers are right in front of you. Normally that would not be a big deal but not a single smile, greeting, or acknowledgment came from the staff. That was the first red flag. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our order and during that entire time no one said a word to us. No updates, no "thanks for waiting," nothing. Just uncomfortable side eye glances while we stood there. When I finally got the food, I said "thank you so much" and the cooks response was "mhm." And the food was the worst part. The bulgogi was so salty it did not even taste like bulgogi anymore. It was SO salty that it felt intentional. The chicken wings were dry, tasted old, and were honestly so gross I did not even feel comfortable giving them to my dog. After waiting that long and paying those prices the quality was unacceptable. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was genuinely disappointing from every angle. Will never return. read more

Really enjoyed this Teriyaki Bowl! This storefront is one of the food vendors located in the new LA Chef's Kitchens food hall in Panorama City. First off, I loved that this popped up as there's not too many good quick lunch options in Panorama City but now with the food hall there are plenty to choose from. Great option for take out lunch, Calis Teriyaki offers make-your-own Teriyaki bowls, almost like the Japanese version of Chipotle. You start with picking your rice and protein, then you can add different fillings like broccoli, mushrooms, onions, etc., different toppings like green onions and sesame seeds, and then you can pick up to 2 sauces for your bowl. It's fun if you go with a friend or partner because then you can mix and match the different sauces! We tried the regular teriyaki sauce, the bulgogi sauce, the sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. The whole experience was very fun and very delicious. I will definitely be coming back regularly for lunch. It's a food hall so not a huge amount of ambience but I feel it is more of a take out kind've stand. The food came out quick and fresh. The cashier was very friendly. Wasn't a a fan of the Korean spicy chicken bowl that I ordered. Unfortunately, the broccoli I paid $1 extra for wasn't cooked. Usually I would prefer it to be steamed at least.
