I bought 4 tires from Rons. They were friendly and installation was only about 1 1/2 hours. Problem after purchase was i had 1 tire that was defective and they would not help me with the warranty to return it back to the manufacturer, I had to contact the manufacturer myself to resolve the defective tire issue, then they never answer the phone when you call there. On top of the issue with the defective tire they trashed my tire which they were supposed to hold onto for me. We were on our way back to Maryland from New Jersey and all of a sudden the low tire pressure indicator lit up on the dashboard as I felt the vehicle start swaying. We were losing air at about a pound every 5-10 mins. So we got off the road in the Salem Township and there was not one tire store open! We met a Sgt. from an adjoining township police dept. who actually took us to where we could at least fill the tire to get us to Wilmington. So we headed to Pep Boys, which was reasonably close. When we arrived at Pep Boys, two guys were working on cars and were the only two working in the shop, which accounted for nobody coming into the lobby to assist me for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the air continued to seep out of the tire. It turned out that they were both tied up with one car because something was stuck on one vehicle. That was not gonna work for me, so I searched on Yelp and found Ron's Discount Tire, which was about 20 minutes away. When we arrived, the owner/manager (Rick) was the nicest guy, as was the guy who promptly worked on the tire (I apologize but I forgot his name). The guy working on the tire examined it and stated that they could not plug it because the cords were starting to show through on the inside of the tire . So he swapped the spare tire for that wheel and we were back on our way probably within 30 minutes. Great, quick customer service with a smile. Best $20 I ever spent. Valve cover gasket job was an absolute nightmare. No gasket used when the job calls for it. Just 2 different color RTVs. Which failed 800 miles later, RTV all in the spark tubes along with oil. Had to go buy new valve covers, gaskets, spark plugs, and coils, and have another shop do the work as when I addressed this issue to the owner, it was met with extreme hostility followed by "we will warranty it". A: not if you aren't going to do it right. And B: not after you showed me that attitude. No further trust is there. P.S. you couldn't even put my bumper and grille back together after working on it. Or even do it the 2nd time I asked. After 8 years of good service, it is sad to see a company decide to go this route of crap service. read more

It's alarming to see a warning on the dashboard and started hearing flapping sounds while driving- upon inspection- I noticed a nail sticking out of the sidewall of my tire. Rich was honest and upfront about any issues with my tire and rim. Bought 4 new tires here for a decent price. One tire went flat and was completely destroyed. I had to pay for labor but had the warranty ($24 for labor) for a new tire only to find out the new tire wasn't holding air. Took the car back a few weeks later Rich told me the rim was where air was leaking from and Eric worked on the rim to remove any corrosion and remounted the tire with no charge. read more

My mom has had nothing but trouble with Ron's. A Mass Air Flow sensor was replaced in May, 2021. Her car continued to have trouble so she took it back to Ron's. The sensor was defective and under warranty. It was supposedly replaced; however, her car continued to throw the same error code. She took it to the dealership as instructed by Ron's and the dealer found a faulty Mass Air Flow sensor. Her car is running fine without any error codes after the dealership completed the work. My mom paid twice for the same repair! Ron's has given her the runaround and not returned calls as promised. After multiple phone calls, Rich said they cannot refund her money, but offered to return the defective sensor stating the manufacturer said it is not defective. Really?! Not only is the part defective, but so is Ron's service, reliability and integrity. Stay far away from Ron's Discount Tires! They come off as polite and professional, but are disorganized and not trustworthy. read more

Guy: I've been working here two years, and we close at 4. Me: Then why is your open sign flashing red & blue? If you're not open then turn off your sign. Guy: Leave. Me: I am. Also me: Learn how to properly conduct a business. P.S. I actually went there two hours earlier and the same guy told me that they had a 45 minute wait. I came back to replace the front tires on my own car and get my alignment done. When they had it on the rack, the brought me out to show me that my back tires also needed replacing. Ron's Discount Tires - Great customer service! I heard a whirring sound in my car about a week ago, and the way it coincided with the car changing gears made me think it was a belt. Turns out I was right... but there was more to the story. I took the car to Ron's Discount Tires, where I've had my cars serviced for years, and it was the serpentine belt. They got that changed for me quickly and reasonably but... they also discovered an oil leak, most likely from a leaking seal on the timing belt housing. I could hear the cha-ching noise when I was told that. I went back there yesterday to get that repaired and decided to just settle in with some work, knowing I'd be there for a while. I got to listen to what it's like for a business owner who is also a mechanic, to deal with pre-conceived notions of pricing and fairness. And... as much as I liked Ron before, I like him even more now. He was amazingly patient with people who were rude or who had an agenda before they even walked in the door. And he's equally respectful to all customers, regardless of who you are. The mechanic finished with my car earlier than I expected and for far less than we had originally anticipated. I can't express how great the customer service is Ron's. I was on my way home when I got a light on telling me my tire was losing pressure. I pulled into Ron's at 5:30, they close at 6. They told me that it was ok they'd look at my tire even though they had few people ahead of me still. About 6:30 they got my car up and tire off. A huge nail was sticking out of my tire, it was not fixable. They found me a tire got it on and had me on my way a little before 7. Do not allow this place to do any mechanical service on your car. I got ripped off for rear calipers, rotors and brakes. Now 7,000 miles later, my experienced mechanic tells me there is no way my calipers were replaced. After I noticed the calipers were extremely rusty in no time at all and I was getting brake noise, I questioned the mechanic and the owner, if the calipers were new, The owner insisted they were new, and the clown mechanic just whined that his boss yelled at him because I complained. Well why would the boss yell at you if you did your job? This a-hole never replaced my calipers, but got paid for the work and little Ron is okay with his workers ripping people off. read more

I got 2 tires changed out from Ron's on two separated occasions for my brand new car. Without checking on the tires' size to verify for sure if they are in fact the same size as my old tires, they replaced them without checking if the tires' engine light was off to make sure everything was safe for me to drive off. Because it's a new car, I took the car back to the dealership and they ran a test and found out that the replacement tires were not the right size. I called back to Ron's to see if he is willing to work with me to replace them to the proper size, I was told that it's my fault that I ordered the wrong size (which I didn't recall). I don't know anything about car. So I rely on Ron's professionalism and recommendation. Obviously I was dead wrong. Granted, if I ordered the wrong size the first time, wouldn't you tell me that it was the wrong size and advised me otherwise giving that you are the professional and that my light was still on. Secondly, after a month or so later, I left my car in your lot for you to replace another tire (which again, you had to order), you didn't even check the tire but replaced with the wrong tire again and left the engine light unadjusted again. You obviously did NOT care for the safety of anyone who's driving/in the car. read more

Buyer beware! I Took a tire off my wife's minivan that needed repair. They said the tire could not be repaired. So they sold me a USED tire for $57.50 way too expensive! I did not notice the tire they sold me had a plug from a previous repair until i had it mounted on the car, so i rolled the dice and took a chance. Needless to say the next day the tire was flat nearly to the ground. When my wife went back to their office to tell them what had happened they insisted that the leak was not coming from the crappy patch job. They punched another hole in her tire and told her that she must have ran over something. Rather than just give us a used tire or at least give us our money back, they shut us down and told us the only thing they could do was repair it. So now we are driving our family around on a previously repaired, sabotaged, re-repaired used tire, that we paid almost $60 for. Anybody reading this do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. i wish i could give them zero stars. i went in there for work and they gave me an estimate for a new EVAP valve. i noticed that they had a gas cap on the estimate. which made me question why they would need that if the valve was the problem. i did a little experiment and replaced the cap myself for seven dollars less than they quoted for a gas cap. and sure enough problem solved... rons thinks they can rip off single moms. not this one. read more

Said they could have them by the afternoon. I made an appointment for the next morning first thing at 8am. They were ready to work when I got there, and I was driving out with new, aligned tires by 9:30. Was screwed around by Pep Boys (I had an appointment and had called in advance to make sure they had the tire I wanted-- I got there and they didn't have the tire and blamed me somehow that it wasn't in their ticket (actually it was, but the guy didn't "see it"). No apology. Then Sears Auto center-- "I don't have that tire".... period. Long pause. Can I order it?. No... long pause... uh what do you suggest? We don't do business with Continental any more. Find somebody else. I did. Ron's Discount Tires is the best. Can't recommend them more highly. That guy with the bad review? Maybe you were aggressive or rude? My family has gone here for years but things have been completely different there recently and now I would never recommend them. Last time I was there I had a blow out and needed 2 tires. I dropped my car off . They said it would be done mid day but I could not get back until after hours so I paid in advance. I had someone drive me back that evening only to find they had not even started work on the car. The manager apologized and blamed it on poor communication by one of his staff members. I decided to give them 1 more chance. I made appt Wednesday to bring my car in today, Friday, for service and tires. The same manager confirmed they had the tires in stock. I took off, got a ride and arrived to have him say he sold my tires yesterday and would not be able to get them until end of day at the earliest. They never bothered to call me either time.
