I've been a loyal customer for 20+ years and their service has really gone down hill. They used to be quick and cost effective. Not anymore. Today I went in to have a flat fixed on my wife's car. I had to drop off wheel and come back. Then they charged me $60 when everywhere else a flat repair cost $30. They are charging even for wiping soap solution around the bead. In fairness they did also balance the wheel...but still outrageous price. i'm done. read more

Perfect, perfect service and place to go! Fast, too! Juan was very professional and courteous. He took my tire out and screwed it back in the trunk. Just Tires recommended I come here. I had a flat tire with a steel wheel and good, used tire. He mounted the good, used tire, replacing the flat one to the steel wheel. Took 10 minutes tops. Was quoted $30-$35. After purchase at TR its noted the cost was double for them to r/r, spin balance tires using their mobile unit. At J's it was half the cost however they changed my tires outside and not driven inside and on to their lift. I also notice a customer received better service and left before my vehicle was completed. So the point of the matter,it depends on who they favor and not who comes first. Sure the price was honored,half the cost of TR yet the service was debatable. don't-cha dislike when new tires just installed and one is subjected to low pressure and have you to think is it a slow leak,have I encountered a nail. The question remain would I return sure I would I'm retired however if your on a schedule you may think twice and ask questions with their manager,the time line to replace your tires.This is not a negative review its my truth. read more

So after trying NTB and BJ's to try and fix one of my tires that had a screw in it, the guy at BJ's said try "J's Tire" down Kirkwood Highway with the yellow awnings. I pulled in and from what I assume was the owner J, came up politely and asked what I needed so I told him about my problem but he seemed a little overwhelmed as literally 3 or 4 cars had pulled in before me so he asked that I wait. I waited maybe 15-20 minutes and then he said pull in my car to the bay and they'll take a look. After I pulled in, one of the employees saw the screw, pulled it out with some pliers and then him along with another mechanic/employee started to spray the tire with the solution for leaks as well as they started to clean all my rims with a tooth brush and cleaning solution. They then hoisted it on a lift, checked all my tires as well as what looked like the alignment. Then after about 10-15 minutes they lowered my car and one of employees gave me the thumbs up and said "You good!" and then another employee said "Yup your tire looks good, it's not leaking." So at this point I'm thinkin do I owe anything for the inspection/cleaning/taking the screw out (in the back of my mind, I was thinkin like $25 was fair) so I go to the office to presumably J and I was like "Uhh do I owe anything?" and he goes "No because there were no leaks and we didn't replace anything, you're good to go." So to say the least, I was over the moon, lol. But overall, don't let looks deceive you as this place might not be as fancy as NTB or BJ's with their waiting rooms/tvs/wifi/vending machines. But what they do have are skilled, caring, honest employees who aren't there to push anything on you. They are there to fix your car plain and simple, get you in and out in a quick fashion and get you back on the road. I will definitely be back if I have any other tire issues with my car! read more

I wont let anyone else touch my tires, they are honest and competent an not trying to rip you off, I went to one tire place to repair my tire and they charged me to plug it and it was still leaking and I took it here and they found a nail and repaired it. So thankful for them being a woman most mechanics think you don't know about cars. read more

Quality work, excellent communication, and an honest, friendly vibe. My car was towed to J's with two flat tires. In response to my message, they called within five minutes of opening with their recommendations (which aligned with my own analysis) and completed the work within an hour. When I arrived to pick up my car they showed me the old tires and answered all my questions. Wow, what an accidental find. Had a bolt damage the tire where the sidewall and tread meet making it unrepairable. Owner had the truck up on the jack and wheel in the work bay in 5 min. While waiting, a young man came out to check tire pressure on all tires and to clean the rims with a toothbrush. 15 min later new tire was on and I was back to work. Thank you. Because I'm a woman, apparently to some of these mechanics I don't know what I'm talking about. Don't get me wrong, most of them were nice but one of them pulled the gender card on me and it pissed me the hell off. I had my whole car looked at by aamco previously (had a transmission issue) and they said something about my tire. Tried explaining this to the guy and he interrupted me twice, saying aamco is for transmissions, they don't know, etc. He then proceeded to say that the mechanic side of things are dominantly male and that females usually don't know what's going on with cars. He was unprofessional as he rang me up and tried to give me advice about where to get my struts replaced, even though the only time I mentioned my struts was when I said midas was trying to rip me off by telling me I needed them replaced. Maybe if he listened more, he wouldnt be trying to give me bullshit advice i don'need (but then again, why listen to a woman right?) All I wanted was two tires to replace my back ones and of course, (sincthey didn't feel it was necessary and charged me 30 bucks to switch my front ones around. When I went to TWO other tire places after that, they both told me my back passenger side tire had a belt that was slipped, and you could definitely feel it in the tire when you run your hand over it. If you're a guy, yeah I'm sure j's tires is good. If you're a woman, don't even bother if you don't want to get treated like you're stupid. read more

Fantastic! We were on our way to the mountains in New York with the little car we just bought in Florida. Had summer tires and needed snows RIGHT AWAY. Wouldn't you know it no one had snows anywhere in stock. Except J's that is. They stayed late waiting for us, gave us better tires than any we could find online anywhere (that you couldn't get now anyway) and cheaper than any others, mounted and balanced! And all with no tax. Have always gone to j's over the years. Have always had quick service and quality work at a great price.

I recently got tires put on by these guys and I couldn't have been more pleased. I have a full sized truck with sensors in the wheels. The cost was $25 each based on what they said was a special price for Tire Rack customers. I found well rated tires on Consumer Reports, ordered them online from Tire Rack, picked them up myself in Newport (~6 miles from J's) (saving on a $130 delivery cost) from Tire Rack and brought them to J's to have them installed. The guys did a great job and got the job done quickly. The facility is no frills and some people seem to have issue with that. To be honest its a bit of a dump but conviniently located right on Kirkwood Hwy. For me I see low overhead leading to a good price for me. If your place has a shiny building, cozy waiting room with gourmet coffee machine you're paying for it in the price of the service. read more
