Our regular plumber was off for the holidays so we called Ron's two switch out 2 vessel sinks in the bath to two new sinks. It ended up costing $837 which we feel was excessive. Also, one of the sinks was leaking underneath afterwards so we called the plumber back. He said he tightened it, but it was still leaking the next morning. We left him a message again but he never called us back. I got tired of not being able to use my sink so my husband tightened it again and it seems to be holding. So...$837 to swap out two vessel sinks and my husband had to finish the job. Not great. read more

Been using Ron's for about a decade, and value this company both for electric and plumbing. Recently, we were concerned that their repair/replacement of a outdoor hose faucet failed to work properly. I have always had fast and good service in the past. This time I am disappointed because the service man entered my home with mud on his shoes (no booties) and the bucket he was carrying. I showed him to the shower in my bathroom where the drain needed to be cleared, picking up clumps of mud after him. He cleared the drain in no time. He left and when I went to straighten up the bathroom, there is mud on the floor of the shower. This is very disappointing to me as I thought he surely would clean up after himself. I am on oxygen and have a hard time breathing so it's difficult for me to get on my knees and do that kind of cleaning. I am in Irving, TX, not California! read more

Deep roots I started seeing my water drain a bit slower after the holidays. I knew what that meant, my big beautiful trees were putting in roots into my drains. My previous experience with a plumber had been less than great so I started the dreaded search for a new local one on Yelp. It was there that I saw a familiar face, Marilyn M., I knew I could trust her. I called Ron's and before the first ring was over, a live person was on the phone. I told her I needed some roots rooted. She explained that the cost would be $99.50 for an hour and if it took longer than 1 hour it would be $149.50. I was hesitant, I worried if this was a bait & switch, but she followed with don't worry it' almost always less than an hour. I said okay let's make an appointment, it was 10 am and she said, we can be there about 11 am. 15 mins before 11, I had a knock on the door, Steven introduced himself and said don't worry we will get this taken care of in no time. 20 mins later all roots were shredded and they were putting their things back in the van. I am one very satisfied customer! Ron's is a small shop in Irving, I think family owned, and they provide quality work and service for plumbing, air conditioning, heating & electric, for a fraction of the cost of the "big guys". They are insured, Licensed, and have a manufacturers warranty on parts and 30 days on labor. Service is provided in the DFW Metroplex. I had a dimmer switch that was broken, and a ceiling fan speed switch that had also bit the dust. I had received an estimate from one of the "big guys" who advertise on TV ("we'll fix it in a flash") that was exorbitant, and then I recalled Ron's who I had used several years ago and after desperately searching, found the business card. Thank heavens my memory hasn't gotten too bad! (Silly me, of course I could find them on the net, but knew that darn business card was around somewhere) Called Ron's on Friday and was scheduled for an a.m. visit Monday. Wayne called @ 0915 and said he was on the way. Wayne was quick to diagnose the problem, left to get the necessary parts, returned and had repaired both issues within 20 minutes. He moved my table which was under the fan back in place and cleaned up all the debris from the repair work. And, big DRUMROLL.....my cost for Wayne's excellent work was slightly LESS than one-half of my estimate from the "big guys". Very impressive I say! More money now for some holiday partying !! 3 years ago I paid Ron's more than $30,000 - don't know about you but that is a LOT of money to me - to completely re-plumb sewer line under house. Jump to last week when having warranty work (yes some companies - not really Ron's do honor warranties) done on foundation realized plumbing they had done, was LEAKING. The first thing out of Bubba's mouth was "it's gonna cost you" but he HAS NEVER SHOWED UP. Now paying someone else to fix his issues. Have had Wayne to house also 3 years ago and he is worthless. So sad when you use a local business to bolster economy, keep it "in the hood" and this is how they treat their neighbors. So sad - also so broke. I would encourage EVERYONE to look elsewhere. To update info by a previous reviewer. They do not give free estimates. That is misleading. They charge $99 just to walk on the property and see what your problem is. They will then tell you, "for free" what the cost to replace your AC is. I also saw they say they have 24/7 service. Yet when I called in the afternoon, they wouldn't have anyone available until the next day, after two other homes were repaired. Not even a guarantee of what time a service man would arrive. I'm left hanging and not impressed with this company at all. Ron, be honest and don't act like you'll fix my leak at 3 am if your guys only work from 9-5. read more

This is my first review! The plumbers just left my house - it is about 8pm - 22 degrees - and the problem I had was with the water connections to my washer in my unheated garage. The main plumber was courteous and knowledgeable. He found the issue/s and got to work right away. The assistant plumber even cleaned everything up prior to leaving. When I called to make the appt the person who answered was also very courteous, however, alerted me that they may not make it out today. But they did in this bad weather with bad roads and had to work in my cold garage. And they did not charge me a crazy rate. It was a fair price for the work done and the time they were at my house. Bathrooms clogged up all of a sudden Wednesday night. Tried everything from snake to cleaner to plunging and nothing would work. I have used Ron's many times over the years. I can't say enough good things about them. Wayne is a genius. For the last 10 years my garage door has been turning on and off. Wayne figured it out in about three minutes. He also fixed the toilet, fixed my heater, and replaced fluorescent lights in my garage that were outdated and burned out. This place has completely fallen off the cliff now that Steven has left. I scheduled service on a Monday to remove shower handle so I could replace brass escutcheon, which I found on Ebay. I took entire day day off but no one showed up so I called around 4:30 & guy said technician was running late; didn't show up until 7PM. He ended up spending about 20 minutes or so to replace a $20 cartridge & charged me $205. I spoke with owner a few days later & he basically said it's standard for them to mark up parts. $100 for $20 part is unacceptable. Will never use this company for anything in future. read more
