Ron's Tire is the definition of honest, no-pressure service. I switched to them about a year ago after getting tired of the attitude I was receiving from another shop--and I'm so glad I did. Today really confirmed it. I found out my tires were wearing out at just 24,000 miles. When I went back to the place I bought them, the first thing I was told was, "You didn't buy the warranty." What they meant was an additional warranty--completely brushing past the fact that there's still a manufacturer's warranty. Then I was told it would be a 2-3 hour wait just to have someone look at them. Frustrated, I went straight to Ron's and talked with Tom. Within minutes, he clearly explained the difference, confirmed the manufacturer warranty, and was upfront about what he could and couldn't do since he didn't sell me the tires. And then--without any pressure--he went above and beyond and adjusted my new tire quote to help offset the situation. That kind of integrity is rare. Came in for a flat repair that would be fast and courteous with the service. Their shop is comfortable. Has a nice waiting area for the client they offer for you complementary snacks while you're waiting. I'm just overall amazing. I've been hunting forever for a reliable auto shop, and I finally found my place! I went to Ron's for a simple oil change and they were so friendly and communicative that I instantly knew this was going to be my new spot. I came back later because my fob was acting up, and they checked it throughout the entire day trying to figure it out. Turns out my cute little bedazzled push-button accessory was blocking the connection. They took it off for me for free and walked me through everything without rushing or brushing me off. This is the second review I ever written on Yelp oddly enough about the same place. A few months ago I took a older model truck in for a freeze plug and engine flush. It took them a week to preform the task which was close to 900. The work was beyond sub par, engine was still visibly dirty which he told me i could flush several more times at 200 a throw. Tom asked me to please remove the post and explained what the deal was, I removed the post and got over my issue. i put a couple hundred miles on the truck and a freeze plug on the same side failed again. I asked him if they changed both and he looked me eye like I was a jerk and said we would not do all that work and not change both, which apparently they did. He even admitted to me that they certainly should have changed all the plugs on the side. He offered to do the repairs for 500 which he claims is a discount for not doing the job correctly in the first place. I would highly recommend that if you need auto repairs you take you vehicle any place else, it cant be worse. He claims they pride themselves on honesty and fairness, that is a joke. read more

I had oil leaking from the valve cover gaskets and this shop did a great job at diagnosing and fixing the problem for ~$400. However, they stripped the bolts and overtightened them and now several years later, oil is leaking again. The new shop (out of state) I went to showed me the stripped bolts and said there's nothing they can do, the previous shop messed up. After calling Ron's to see what they can do, they simply said "Too bad" and they are not offering any sort of solution. Final Review: stay away from this shop. Their technicians must not be trained properly and their management is not interested in standing by their work. read more

We were traveling to Tempe for the holidays and accidentally hit a scrap of tire on the freeway. Our bumper was hanging off of the car and were unsure if we had done any damage to the vehicle that would compromise our safety. We called and were able to make an appointment the same day, they inspected the vehicle and confirmed the damage was only cosmetic. They were also kind enough to zip tie the bumper back on so that it was almost exactly back to normal. They did all of this at no charge. We are so, so, thankful for the kindness (especially this time of year), I highly recommend this place! read more

Told we needed 6k in work on our first visit. Took the car to another auto shop and quote was minor repair of $369. We will never go back to Ron's. Update... my entire brake booster went out going downhill, the ABS module is also shot, brake pedal is still broken... I want to take my Jeep back for the service warranty but I do not trust them. The staff at this place are beyond Amazing!!! I had never been there before- I pulled in randomly with a flat tire and they all went above and beyond to help me. They drove to Discount Tire- Twice! to take my old tire and to pick up the new tire and didn't charge me at all. I didn't have an appointment or anything- and I was in and out in 10 mins. Normally I deal with Costco for tires. Today I had a nail in an older tire. Costco would not fix nor would they change out that tire with a used but much better tire (same tire model). Came to Ron's for the first time and they had the replacement tire mounted in maybe 10 minutes. Btw, this was a tire I had already removed from the car myself so I just gave them the damaged tire and the replacement tire that I wanted them to switch. The guy doing the actual work seemed awesome: nice, efficient, competent. Charge of $25 very reasonable. I asked for a quote for 2 new (hard to find) tires and it was also fair. I was impressed on this first visit and would return again for sure. Thanks Ron's! I've been meaning to write this review for years and am just now getting to it. I love this place even though I don't live in Tempe, I was picking up my Mom who does and was taking her to Scottsdale for a concert my daughter was in. On the way a curb jumped out at me and severely damaged my tire on my Volvo XC 90- I was able to thankfully drive it to Ron's shop and they immediately took the car checked the tire and replaced it with my spare so we could be on our way and when I asked how much I owed them- they said nothing but to make sure to get a new one (under warranty with our dealership). These guys were the absolute nicest and patient souls I have met and will never forget how they treated me. Please take your car here- they are stellar and A+++ all around. These guys are the best! Always upfront and honest. On more than one occasion they have found ways to save me money off the original quote. They have even honored the original quote when discovering additional parts or labor are required once they start tearing things down. I was waiting for an oil change when Robert came in to tell a young lady who had no automobile knowledge that some of the work they had initially told her needed done could be put off for a few more months in order to help her save $100's of dollars at that time. I had a wheel bearing seize up on my truck while driving down the highway. Before calling Roadside Assistance for a tow I called Ron's to get a better idea of what could have happened and what it would take to fix it. Within 20 mins the guys showed up in their tow truck with cold water for me, inspected my truck, loaded it on the flatbed, dropped me off at home and towed the truck to the shop. Ron's understands that making loyal customers is much better business than just trying to get your money. I can't recommend these guys enough! read more

My car had been overheating yesterday on my drive home from work so this morning my first stop was to put some coolant in before I got on my merry way. After about 5 minutes of driving, my car shut off after exiting the freeway and I was thankfully able to start it back up and chug into Ron's parking lot. Jasen, the manager, noticed me outside and asked if I needed any help and I told him what happened. He popped up the hood and said that his team would be able to take a look within an hour, so I made myself comfortable in their lobby. Not too long later one of the mechanics explained to me what was wrong, and another one took me out to my car to further explain what was happening. My car is my dad's other baby so he did some price shopping and he found a place that could get it done for cheaper, but the entire time the staff was more than friendly and I never felt that they were trying to take advantage. They were getting a lot of traffic while I was there and by their rating, I thanked Jasen for their time and let him know I'd give them a call when I need to replace my tires. I agree with Sydney. I would take my cars to Ron's for basic oil changes and repairs. They had great service. I was super impressed. I was getting to know the staff, but one day out of nowhere, service was horrible. I wouldn't get call backs for weeks on estimates, I wouldn't get calls to informe me my car was ready for pick up, and everything became a hassle. Everyone is super nice, the shop is very clean and everyone is friendly. Bummer. read more

I own a 2010 Land Rover which most mechanics have no idea how to fix it. I've had Ron do work on it a couple of times. Most recently, it refused to start and another mechanic had no idea. I was actually nervous because the fix was much cheaper then I anticipated! They know their tires. I took a Honda Fit here to have tires replaced and they were fast! Great pricing and perks! I believe that when it comes to tires, I can feel good about taking my car here rather than to other competition. I hope I do not have to take business elsewhere.
