Leaking at the fireplace

Neighbors, I want to share our experience with Roof It Forward so no one else goes through this. My mother hired Roof It Forward to replace our roof in August 2021 via her insurance. Three years later, Roof It Forward was called to make a repair. They said our problem was due to missing flashing--something they had expressly stated would be removed and replaced in the original 2021 scope of work. Not knowing, we arranged to have them replace the flashing at our expense. On the scheduled day, Roof It Forward never showed. Instead, they came the following day--when they expected us not to be home. We witnessed them on-site for only five minutes, supposedly completing all of the following: Remove shingles from the area if needed Correct flashing issues against the chimney Seal areas of possible water penetration Install ice and water barrier as needed Re-shingle around the chimney I texted them immediately to ask if they were returning to finish the job. No response. Days later, I received an invoice--dated August 21, 2024--for work that was not done. Despite my calls, emails, and letters, they never addressed it. Instead, on October 8, 2024, they doubled down with a letter claiming all work was completed. Continued water intrusion proved otherwise. Another roofer later confirmed the repair had not been made. In fact, under Georgia law, O.C.G.A. §9-3-24: workmanship is covered for six years under any signed contract, regardless of a shorter "warranty." Since this flashing replacement should have been included in the 2021 insurance scope, charging us again may even constitute insurance fraud. When I refused to pay half the invoice for work not done, Justin Dover, Roof It Forward's CIO, filed a lien against me--a non-homeowner--on January 27, 2025. That lien came more than 90 days after they claimed the work ended, making it untimely and fraudulent. Their own invoices and letters contradict the lien, and when asked directly to state the repair date, neither they nor their attorney Matthew Wilkinson will answer--because any answer exposes the truth. If the work ended August 16, 2024, the January 27, 2025 lien is invalid and knowingly false. If the work ended January 27, 2025, then Roof It Forward and Derek Harrington invoiced for work never performed, per the August 21, 2024 invoice and October 8, 2024 letter from billing staffer Sandy Sisson. Filing a knowingly false lien is not just unethical--it is an abuse of the legal system. Homeowners and non-homeowners alike deserve protection from this kind of intimidation. What I find most disturbing is that one of Roof It Forward's affiliated charities claims to stand for women's protection and safety. Yet this same company filed a lien asserting they performed roof work at our home without our knowledge, permission, or request--five months after they themselves said the work was complete. For a company that publicly promotes women's safety to simultaneously intimidate women in this way is deeply hypocritical and alarming. My family is pursuing this in court, but I want others to be aware: tactics like this can put your property title at risk and cause needless stress. Be cautious before trusting ROOF IT FORWARD with your home--or your property title.

Work was completed professionally. They helped me understand the process dealing with my insurance company. They were straightforward in communicating with me and answered all my questions. Clean-up was immaculate. No nails or debris anywhere.

Gutters

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Update 06/30/21 I had to open a case with the BBB and Trust Dale We started our roof on 02/08/19 Still not resolved!!! Check out pictures! Original Review: I DO NOT Recommend It took almost a year to have my roof completed. It is now 2 years later and.... 1. Gutter Guards that they removed to install and replace roof are a disaster after they tried to reinstall them - house looks terrible. 2. Had leaks 3 separate times after installation that took them months to solve. Still not sure and they damaged some plumbing when in attic. 3. They still have not come back to repair the inside damage. 4. Roof is warped as they did not replace the decking/plywood. 5. Damaged /subpar installation of shingles We have been unbelievably patient - Again, It's been 2 years. I could go on. I do not recommend this company. Please see the photo's for evidence. Services: Gutter installation, Storm / wind damage roof repair, Roof installation, Roof repair, Gutter repair, Roof inspection

Roofing sheets not installed can

Very shoddy work decking not installed correctly. Facia not repaired per contract, drip guard installation not correct, roof sheeting not replaced per contract, half sheets installed instead of full sheets per contract.. Shoddy work all around. They prey on senior citizens and disabled people, Igues because they have a hard time trying to look at repairs. Used being Christian as a selling point. Lied about they way job would be done on contract. The salesperson didn't care once the job was done. They just slapped up roof as fast as they could. Didn't replace vents that were promised. Damaged some of the roof vents.

They put asphalt shingles on rotted wood that was supposed to have been replaced per our contract. They were advised the decking on the roof was mostly rotted and compromised. They went through my living room ceiling from the decking being rotted and its going on 3 weeks it has not been repaired. They did not cut the decking for the ridge vents they installed. So now I have no air flow from my attic. When they tried to cut the decking was so rotted they just stopped and put the ridge vents on. The soffit and fascia is not completed and it's completely messed up. They never installed a gutter apron per the contract. The workers broke my spigot to my house and never told me until I tried to turn on my water to my house. They turned off the main valve to stop the water from flowing. They left nails, rot wood and debris all over my yard. I had to dig up all my plants they ruined from their ladders and walking on them with no care. The city has not closed out the permit due to them not replacing rotted wood and the ridge vents, etc. They disapproved it and fined them. They will not return my emails, calls, or texts. I am left with a rotted roof that has NO ventilation. I am a Disabled Retired Law Enforcement Officer with a terminal lung disease. I should not be breathing in the attic insulation from the ceiling not repaired and the rotted compromised wood. Their workers drank Heineken on the job and left the beer caps and bottles in my yard and I saw the cases of beer in my trash can and took a picture. Please STAY away from this company. They do not care about their customers. They care about a quick job in and out. This company has put so much stress on my body, mind and spirit. I now have to make complaints to the other proper agencies to let them know how they put asphalt shingles on a rotted roof with ridge vents without cutting the deck for proper ventilation. They didn't think I would check their work from the attic area. Tampa, Florida My wife, Rhonda Adams wrote this review for me to post. I am her wife .

IF YOU NEED insulation services, call Insulation Over Atlanta!…read more Brian is very responsive throughout the estimate and delivery process and his crew is the best! We contacted Brian for a spray foam estimate in our attic spaces. Brian laser measured the spaces, inspected the structure, and walked us through the process. After reviewing quotes from other companies, we chose Insulation over Atlanta. They were not the lowest price, or the highest price, but definitely the BEST value without the attitude or the BS! On installation day, Brian and his crew were on-site on time and got to work. Brian's crew; Alfredo, Antonio, and Alex (Triple A Plus++) are awesome! We put down some protective coverings the night before and they came in and double covered their work areas. AMAZING! They were very respectful and courteous of the property and DID NOT damage a single thing. No marks on the walls, etc. The put protection and covering where and when needed which was a concern for us - we just painted the interior and had new floors installed! Also, they are extremely clean! When they were done in one area, one was cleaning while the other two were moving hoses and spaying foam. During the insulation removal process (the old stuff) they were very particular to get it all out. The teamwork with this group is awesome! The finished spaces are almost move in ready! The bottom line is - if you're considering spray foam and/or radiant barrier for your home, contact Brian and Insulation over Atlanta for an estimate and tell him you saw this review. You'll be glad you did!

My husband and I were looking to get our attic spray foam insulated and have floors put in for…read morestorage purposes, as the attic was reaching temperatures well above 110-115 degrees in the Atlanta heat. We had 6 companies give us estimates for the work, including Brian. Brian's estimate seemed the most thorough and gave us the most realistic diagnosis of the space. When we decided to work with Brian, he was able to get us on the schedule very quickly. His team showed up on time and worked diligently the entire day to get the job done. They were courteous, answered all our questions and were careful moving around their equipment in our home. Our project was a two step process but it was all completed over a weekend and by Monday evening the attic was ready for storage. It now remains at a temperature within 10-15 degrees of the rest of the home. Brian has been receptive on all follow up questions and requests and was always willing to go the extra step to make sure we were satisfied. I highly recommend his company for your insulation needs!

They…read moretook the time to understand the problem, did their investigation, very thorough and took the time to explain the issue. I am no plumber, but these folks are, and they were gracious with their time, and explained it all, and provide options, pros vs cons, best practices, and did not once pressure me to make a decision. Mark, Eddy, and Mike did a superb job. They had no bias, and gave me all the facts and options to make my own decision. At the end of the day, I feel like I can trust them. Real pros. Arrived when they said they would, did what they promise and even more. Fantastic experience. If you want a plumber you can trust.. look no further.

I requested TE to come out and diagnose why an existing circuit was not getting power. Instead of…read morejust fixing the circuit, I agreed to a new panel for my house since it was 60 years old. The price I was quoted was over 12k. I felt the electrician on my job, Jason S. was very high pressure in his tactics and told me I needed to decide that day, or lose potential discounts. I had also been without a kitchen for over 30 days, so I agreed to the work. The next day Jason and an apprentice come out to start the job. They take one whole day to remove and replace the new panel, no problem. Here is where it goes downhill. On the second day of work, Jason and another apprentice came out and instead of prioritizing the circuit I hired him for, they start installing the hardwired smoke detectors Dekalb county allegedly requires. This took all day! By about 4 pm, I asked if he was going to get the outlet done so I could use my dishwasher and he replied "I guess if I stay here all night". I said I guess thats what you got to do then, and they were here til nearly 8 pm. Then he made several other unprofessional comments about staying late. Jason never came back to my job. A new Electrician came out on Monday, Jason said he had an emergency job. The part where they earned this rating comes when I found out my pool motor circuit was not working on the new GFCI circuit. I explained to them it originally was on a two pole circuit and now they had it on two single poles. It was drawing 240v and they had the model number and should have researched the wiring on their own as professionals. Rather than listen to me, I had to wait all day for the new electrician (with Jason on the phone) come up with a new quote to fix which included trenching up and re-wiring my entire pool, ANOTHER 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS! I was livid. I started looking into this and it turns out I was right, it just needed a 2 pole GFCI. I talked to the second electrician the next day and told him I want to talk to a supervisor or manager. I got a call later in the day from Jeffrey who was going to look into it and get back to me the same day. He did not. He did call me the next morning and agreed to send one of his best guys out to install a 2 pole and see if that solves the problem. Well guess what, it did! And, I didn't have to pay another 5K. I expected to hear back from Jeffrey again to ensure the job was to my satisfaction as you should on a service recovery. I did not. I feel lied to, and that I was robbed and almost taken needlessly for thousands more, had I not done my research which should not be necessary as a layperson. I understand from TE employees the Electricians control the cost, and they get a commission from it. Unfortunately, I paid for an electricians summer vacation because I trusted him. Luis L and Nathan the electricians at TE, thank you! Micah, Gavin, Phillip the apprentices, thank you too! Jeffrey I thank you for doing the minimum by ensuring what I paid for was completed. Jason, no thank you at all. You've sowed distrust in professionals and your industry with your practices.
