They charge me double in my printing from what I get from other printshops in the area but are a further away. I am not happy with the way I was treated and would never use this print shop again. There are plenty of cheaper and way friendlier print shops that will treat you better. The quality of print is not any better there then what you can get at competing shops. So if you enjoy being barked at when your spending your money this is definitely the place to go to. If you want to be treated nice this is not the print shop for you.

It didn't break the bank, and they have comparable prices around the Twin Cities. They also met my due date with no issue. I sent the request in with 3 weeks to go until my event. A while back, I contacted Chipheads for a comparison quote on the replacement of a laptop keyboard and frame after a water spill fried a touchpad. The first place I had visited for a quote was a lovely one-man shop that quoted me $300 minimum for the repair - and that was with full awareness that I'd already purchased my own replacement parts and therefore all cost on his part was purely labor. He also communicated clearly that accessing the keyboard area required moving multiple parts he was not entirely familiar with and laughed that he would have to give me the $2000+ laptop he'd tried to sell me if the repair didn't go well. I left the establishment unconvinced of his capability to fix my also $2000+ design powerhouse that had not left my side since I got her. Enter Chipheads. I contacted via the general email address on the website, outlining the general situation and requesting a quote. Chipheads teammate Scott responded, and the quote he gave was comparable. I then emailed to confirm that I'd ordered the right parts before making the decision to put my laptop basically in the hospital right before I was going to be gone for a full two weeks, so I wouldn't be able to get her back even if the parts were wrong and repairs could not be done. Scott never responded to that email, and I had to leave for my out-of-town event. When I'm home, I rely on my laptop heavily, so dropping off when I'm not occupied with an event is not ideal. When another long event came up on my schedule, I contacted Chipheads again, this time creating a new email thread directing back to the general email address - the previous thread had directed to Scott's email address after we connected. I admit that I was hoping that I would connect with Jarret this time, and I did. He responded not only quickly but also giving me the option of a two-week repair period for less than $200. I'd be occupied with my event for exactly that amount of time anyway, so this was perfect. When I arrived the day before my event started, Jarret was with another guest. Both the impression that the first shop had given me about the delicate nature of my repair and my own experience in tinkering with laptops and electronics in general added to why I specifically waited to speak directly with Jarret given the impression of reliability he gave me in our correspondence. I dropped my laptop off with Jarret the day before my event started. Less than 48 hours later, he called to let me know that my laptop was ready for pickup. That was back in August. I specifically waited to ensure that the laptop was in perfect working order before leaving a review. It's now October. Safe to say, my laptop is in good health. Dropping one star for Scott dropping the ball on communication. Regardless, I'd wholeheartedly recommend Chipheads for your repair and upgrade needs.

This company is as good as it gets. Thom is highly knowledgeable with the material he works with…read more His custom design signs are not the cheapest but they are THE BEST compared to the rest. The custom signs reasonably priced for the final result. His company stands behind the work. I contacted just about every company in the US that custom makes cedar signs. I contacted several companies on Etsy and online. All of them asked me one question, "are you attached to the design of the tree?" The tree is part of our Homeowner Association's logo. The tree is a very elaborate design that no one was able to replicate, thus they wanted to know if another tree design could be used. Thom was the only one that didn't ask this question and was able to provide me with a price quote and proof of our HOA's original logo. 90% of our communication was conducted via email. I didn't know Thom, so it's hard to place full trust in a business located thousands of miles away in another state. It took about two months from the time the signs were ordered to when they were received. I checked in on the status of the signs several times and each time Thom replied in a reasonable time frame. There was a delay during production. Thom indicated that he didn't like how to gaining in the planks looked when he originally received them to carve out the design and had to send it back for new planks. The shipped signs were gorgeous, just like the proof that was originally sent. Unfortunately the signs were damaged during shipment and couldn't be used. Both signs had the identical split at the seams clean down the entire sign. We were a bit disappointed since the signs too two months to make and ship and they arrived damaged. I contacted Thom of the incident and he was quick to reply. I spoke with him over the phone regarding the damages. He provided me with three options. (1) Keep the sign and try to repair it here locally and he'd refund me the cost difference. (2) Ship the signs back to him and he would reimburse the shipping fee. They would examine the signs to see if they could be restored. He stated this would result in the fastest return time for us to have the original signs. He stated if the signs could not be restored, they would start from scratch. (3) Keep the damaged signs and they would start production on the new signs. This would take the longest time since work would need to be done from scratch. I picked option two. I also requested he add stainless steel backings on each of the sign to keep it in place for shipment and wear and tear. My shipping costs were reimbursed as promised and it took about a month from when they received the returned signs to when I received the restored signs. The signs were restored beautifully with the stainless steel backings as promised. The second time around, they shipped it in a wooden crate to secure the package. The package was very well packed and took some time to open up. Overall, the signs were beautifully designed and money well spent. It something like this was custom made in CA, it would have probably costed 2x to 3x the price we paid to Thom. He's an excellent craftsman who stands behind his work. He only works with one color, black, but don't let that one color fool you. It's gorgeously painted due to the elaborate design he's able to carve out. We/I would be confident to order from him again.
