I bought my first house 4 months ago and I've never had to work with a roofer, or any contractor before in my life. It wasn't before long that I realized that most guys promise you the world and either take forever, take way longer than they promised, or require more money before the job is done. A guy put his foot right through my roof completing a job that he had to do and when he called me to tell me about it I was eating a slice at Rosa's. I knew there was a roofer up the block so I went and met Joe on a whim. So glad that I did. He was caring, sympathetic, no-nonsense, and hopped in his truck immediately to take a look since he "...was heading that way anyway." I felt like hugging him. Incredible. (I didn't hug him) He had his guys up there 2 days later and the job was done before lunch. That was the most productive grandma slice I've ever eaten. Great experience with Joey D and his entire crew. Our insurance company sent us an estimated payment to fix the damage to our roof and siding. They don't want to hear anything....They told me the job was done but, the drain pipe that was coming off my Roof into my drain pipe wasn't even connected...They don't want to hear anything!!!!...Frank is just plain rude... And I just find out it's leaking last-month when I called them about it they sent someone come and give me estimates for &2500.00. while I mentioned 10 years warranty They said warranty is issued to home owners NOT a house . Showing up at the agreed upon time gives me a indication how any company treats all their customers present, future, and past. The recent storm this past week finally exhibited itself as a roof leak and knowing our flat roof was on the cusp of a possible replacement I spoke with Joe DeVivo from Roosevelt Roofing. We agreed upon both date and time whereby he would drop by, inspect, and possibly offer ideas how to mitigate our leaks. Day arrived but no joy as he kept both wife and I hanging 2 hours beyond our agreed upon time. Losing patience I was contemplating calling him to forget about coming. Joe DeVivo called almost 2 hours late and offered pretty lame excuses stating his worker was ill, he was "on the road", rain was forecast for later in the week and suggested he would call me back a week later to reschedule our inspection. My suggestion is to do business with anybody else but NOT Roosevelt Roofing. It's already dismal they have a multitude of marginal to poor ratings but more importantly they had a opportunity to impress me with their promptness soliciting new business....NOT! You only get one opportunity to ever make a good initial impression! Be afraid, be very afraid using Roosevelt Roofing as Yelp and other reviews posted on alternative forums clearly show dedication, responsiveness, and a "customer first" mantra do not exist at Roosevelt Roofing. read more

Was referred to Joe (the owner) by a neighbor who had their garage doors replaced. I called Joe to make an appointment. He came by on time and gave a fair estimate on the doors and labor. We agreed on a price, he sent us the contract and we agreed on a date. On the day of the job, his crew came on time. They did a great job removing the old equipment (doors and tracks) and the old frame of the garage doorway. The new equipment (doors and tracks) were installed, doorway was reframed and capped with aluminum as promised. They walked me through the install process, placement of the control panels for the new garage door motors and walked me through programming the remotes after they finished. They made sure everything was done to satisfaction and even gave me a follow-up call to make sure everything is working properly and reminded me to give them a call if there are any issues. Not once were Joe or his crew pushy or rude and was extremely professional throughout the entire job from estimate, contract negotiation, project completion and follow-up. Joe, John, Jesse and Luis were all courteous and professional. I highly recommend this company! read more

Read the contract and define " inspect for damage" and "replace plywood if necessary" Ask if they are subing out the work to a "Home Improvement Company" like they did to me. I do not know the sub and I did not sign a contract with them. I was not made aware of this before the work started and that info is not in the proposal/contract. Being I had to work I was not there to watch which I recommend. I do not know if the materials stated in contract were installed (I found a piece that was not in contract) I politely asked them to inspect the rotted wood that was supposed to be replaced but they not. They concluded "we don't replace stained wood" This statement was concluded from one photo and not by a walk up a ladder to inspect. Look at the rotted wood they consider stained. I am in the construction business for 37 years, I know the difference between "blitz and blow" and "decent, take pride in workmanship" is... read more

AVOID THIS ROOFING COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. They replaced our roof and left 2 HOLES and "pushed in" 1 of our skylights while replacing the roof. When I contacted them and asked them to please come fix the skylight and look at the roof again they *refused* to come back. They said (while screaming at me) that they are not responsible for the skylight and they said that the roof was "fixed" and that there were no holes. We had squirrels getting in through the holes so I *begged* them to please come and double check, but they refused. I tried emailing them and calling them for 2 weeks and they would not respond to any of my emails or calls. We ended up having to pay someone else to fix the holes that they left and fix the skylight. (Great warranty they have, right?) Not only did Roosevelt do an extremely poor job, they do NOT stand behind their work . Their customer service is shocking. Every person that I spoke to yelled at me. They are honestly the most rude people/company that I have ever dealt with in 21 years of living in NYC (and I have worked with a lot of contractors.) But... most importantly they are dishonest people. They will take your money and you will never see them again. It is so sad that people like this are permitted to run a business. . read more

We had a leak that we couldn't find. Joe came by to check it out and in two days it was done. This leak was looked at by other roofers who couldn't figure it out. We actually had paid for it to be done before. Joe is a local guy with reasonable prices. read more
