Great ambiance, delicious food, helpful staff, good coffee - what else can you ask for! The lines can get long, so they leverage technology to help out with that, through an app called NoWait (which is owned by Yelp) through which you can get "in line" virtually. My wife had visited before and gotten pancakes, so this time she got French toast with berries and creme fraiche. I'd read a few Yelp reviews and decided on the Rooster Slinger. We also got a side of biscuits with sausage gravy, and a regular coffee for me. The Slinger was delicious - sausage gravy, andouille sausage, potatoes and an egg over toast, with all the flavors working great together. With some hot sauce, it was amazing! The other dishes were tasty as well, and the coffee was both good AND bottomless - you don't always score with both. I have officially fallen in love with GF crepes. We came here on recommendation of a local friend--he said this was one of the best places to brunch in downtown St. Louis. And he was right! We started with some bloodies: the House Bloody and the Bloody Bull--beefy flavor. I loved the beefy flavor, but now wished I would have tried the Bloody Samurai because that sounds so good and unique too! Boyfriend got the Rooster Slinger for brunch, and it did not disappoint. A hearty meal with sausage, potatoes, eggs, and gravy was filling and delicious. The gravy was well seasoned and the sausage had amazing flavor. I had NEVER seen Gluten Free crepes before so of course I freaked out and doubled up on portions. For savory, I got the Bacon #3: goat cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. This was DELICIOUS I could have eaten multiple. I did find the menu a bit confusing, as many of the goat cheese ones had similar ingredients to the bacon ones, etc. Perhaps a make-your-own crepe with add on options would be best here. Nonetheless, the crepe was savory, creamy with goat cheese, and delicious roasted tomatoes! I couldn't stop at one. So for brunch "dessert", I got a nutella crepe. I loved that you could do add-ons here, like bananas, strawberries, ice cream, cookie crumbs, etc. So genius and delish. My experience at this restaurant is only cemented by what I am doing at this restaurant: Sitting on the toilet, drip drying because there is no toilet paper. Food needed a more seasoning like the biscuits and gravy ,the bacon is crispy, eggs are perfect now the main character, the chocolate chip pancakes. They were pretty good syrup mostly carried it if you don't like don't get the pancakes the potatoes were a little funny tasting , but they were still pretty good The presentation was OK. Went to Rooster because it was close to our hotel and it was a nice experience! We had about a 45 minute wait and it was true to time (try to make a reservation if you can). They have a community seating area in the middle which can get a bit crowded, but there are also booths around. The mimosa was champagne forward which is always a plus. Both people in my party had the Farmer's Platter which comes with a good amount of food and luckily you can swap out the toast for pancakes which is what we went for! The Apple Pie pancake is DELICIOUS. The topping tasted just like pie. My only complaint is that the food wasn't warm when it got to us. read more

Likes: Cute restaurant, great service, local restaurant (#shopsmall), so many great crepe options. Dislikes: the non-crepe menu items, uncomfortable chairs. Not from St. Louis, but my partners family is and we visit often. We always try new places when in the city and chose Roosters because we LOVE Bailey's Chocolate Bar and figured another one of their restaurants wouldn't disappoint. Unfortunately, it did. I got the breakfast burger and my partner got the rooster slinger, a restaurant favorite. My breakfast burger came with a lot of food for the price: two biscuits, eggs and sausage topped with a House made mayo and served with breakfast potatoes. Nothing was seasoned, like at all and although I asked for my eggs over medium, they came out barely cooked with the whites very runny. I added salt and pepper, but they didn't help much. We also ordered a strawberry and Nutella crepe to share, which was a little lukewarm, but it was pretty good, the highlight of the meal! I'd give this place another try. I think the mistake we made was ordering traditional breakfast foods rather than what Roosters is known for. Next time we'll stick to crepes. read more

This place has a very crafted feel to it from the bread to the sausage, potatoes and coffee. Service was a bit lacking as I sat with an empty coffee for 15min. This is the lone negative we had in our visit. Food was very good though which made up for the lacking service. Portions are great for what you pay. I ordered a belt sandwich what was egg, bacon, tomatoes and lettuce with white bread. Bread wasn't toasted enough and was floppy. The potatoes that were on the side were inedible. I've been here twice for breakfast. First time I had the black bean, cheese and egg crepe with the salsa on the side. Was not bad. It I should gotten the salsa inside the crepe. Crepe was a little on the oily side probably because of the cheese inside. Second time I tried the Nutella and banana crepe with a side order of scrambled eggs. My husband and I were extremely excited about eating a breakfast place that was highly recommended. I hate to say it but I could of had better breakfast at McDonald's. My eggs were slimy and not done, the American pities weren't done and way spicy. The sausage tasted like a whole bottle of hot sauce was poured on it. The cappuccino was horrible with no flavor. It was Sunday morning the place was buzzing. The person at the front desk took our name and said it would be 30min. Cool, however they then went on to say how they have been to busy to call people in that have been waiting so it might be sooner. Hmm ok thanks. Once seated our server was very efficient for our coffees right out. Food took a while but still not bad. The first plate was colder than room temp. Odd I know. My wife couldn't so she sent it back. The rest of the food was served two or three minutes later. Then my wife's dish came out fresh. Although still not hot by any means. She got a scramble which I did too. It took a while before our waiter made it over, and then another while before the food arrived. She then gave up and walked back to the kitchen, taking the tray with her. Another waitress came back with the same tray but a wrong pancake order. They have about 6 different types of bloody Mary's and plenty of drinks choices! For savory we had Sausage and spiced apples savory crepe (id give this one a 4 star) and goat cheese #1 (I'd give this one a 5 star). Trendy, hip, but lack luster. My vegetarian scramble came out lukewarm and not a lot of flavor. Only a few items come with sides like bread or fruit, so most things you have to pay extra for.
