These all had some benefit, mostly relaxation. But none of these teachings offered me a true sense of Qi cultivation and most importantly actual noticeable health benefits. Asthma, anxiety attacks and back problems are no longer issues Im plagued with. Since learning Nei Dan meditation from Mindful Qigong. The thing that I did not realize is Qigong is a way of life not just a tool. What separates Mindful Qigong is it's a lineage based teaching. That teaches all aspects of the Dao, Qigong, philosophy, TCM, tea ceremony.... in private classes. This allowed me to understand the subtleties of the teaching in a way I could incorporate in my daily life. Leading to substantial results. Mindful Qigong focuses on cultivating your Qi internally and has little to do with breathing exercises or complicated movements. Honestly some of the techniques I thought were weird in the beginning. But that had more to do with my expectations of what Qigong was from my previous experience. As well as a lack of understanding of the basic fundamentals of real Qigong and TCM. Thankfully I stuck with it over the years. Just like anything really worth doing it takes time and energy. My life is much smoother, healthier and happier. Im truly grateful.

I ran CIM this December and was looking for a cold plunge spot open on a Monday (most races are on…read moreSundays) and this was one spot that was affordable and available so their cold plunge caught my eye. I booked the cold plunge for $20 and when I arrived the staff was so welcoming. The owner was there and asked if I needed coaching for cold plunge and I said yes. Her coaching and breathing exercises made this experience 10x better. I think I stayed in there for about 3 minutes. If you do the cold plunge definitely recommend you ask for coaching. The owner was so kind and even offered me a few minutes into the red light sauna. Can't wait to be back her again.

I've been coming anywhere from 1-3 times a week because the classes are just so good. All the instructors are really great too. I love Amy and Natalie.

It's a divers and varied group here and the place offers meditation service for sober living people too. They have all kinda of free services, but they are a non-profit 5013c, which means they rely on donations from the public to survive and offer services. They host lots of special guests from India monasteries and offer access to their Lama (whom teaches occasionally) for Darshan (meetings w/the Lama for spiritual guidance). This is a special place in Midtown/East Sac!

The Llama is extremely nice and welcoming as well. It's a beautiful temple. My sister and brother in law go here regularly and when I'm in town, I tag a long with them. I took a few pictures before the service started. If you're looking for a Buddhist temple, I highly recommend this one they are always welcoming and always welcoming new parishioners. I forgot to add they have counseling and a few classes here as well. I believe they are starting a book club soon too.
