After leaving this salon, Lisa has renewed my hope in hairstylists. I explained to her that I was really unhappy with my last haircut at a different salon and very nervous. she was very reassuring. I went in for a root touch up and the girl changed my entire hair color from blond to dark brown? I specifically told her to preserve my highlights. Half of my forehead is stained with dark brown hair color that I have been scrubbing off for the past 15 min. When I told her I was upset about how it turned out she told me she could fix it. She worked on it for another hour foiling the top and trying to get the blond back in; I told her that I wear ponytails pretty often and that I needed all the color to be even she said it would even out after she toned it? Final result is a cheap zebra like blond on top with super dark brown? Where's my blond? I've been going to the Aveeda in south Jordan for years without any problem?! I would definelty not recommend this salon or go back. Update: The owner called me and threatened me that if I didn't take down this review they would not fix the mess they did with my hair. I decided to try Aveda due to their long standing reputation of good products and the fact they are here in Draper. The salon is clean and inviting. The hot tea offered during the appt was amazing. I was fortunate to be introduced to Kathryn as my stylist and she is great. I have been 4 times now for cut, blow out and color. I highly recommend Kathryn and this salon. read more

Worst experience ever, and I've been going to Aveda Salons for 20 years, and others for total of 35 years. If you review their Instagram photos, you'll notice pix are mainly of the back of the hair. That's because the stylists don't know how to frame color highlights around the face and top of head, or properly design cut the front, which is the part everyone notices most when they are talking to you, not the back. Tried to be generous and like, but I got in car, took pic. My cut and color 'after' had changed only slightly from 'before'. Waited a couple days then made appt for redo, as Shelby offered before I left. "If you decide you're not happy, come back in and I'll fix it". I thought great, no worries while my stress level was maxing out watching my not a cut happen. However, the redo was a disaster and I realize I can do a better job at home with color and scissors. Walked in for redo, and owner Tasha?, (couldn't understand a lot of what she was saying, but she was rude and mocking when I could) had three witnesses with her at her set appt of 1pm so no customers were around post lunch, telling me this wasn't the first time someone was unhappy with their hair, refused to fix my wax or refund even though she agreed it was incomplete. Someone did offer to pluck my brows and wax them even, which I accepted. My hair was 'recut' by a Level 4 designer, so now I look like Little Boy Blue. I begged all the stylists and owner to give me layers, they refused! My hair is limp and lifeless, I normally walk out of a salon with a Textured, (layered) proper cut and a full weave. I guess I was convinced to do a partial weave, which leaves half of my hair uncolored, even though Shelby said "we'll just leave the bottom layer in the back untouched, no one will see". Everyone can see because it's around to the front, and actually all I can see of my long hair is the uncolored portion down my collarbones. They even have a pic of back of my head on Instagram that is mainly my home color, which gives my blonde hair red and blonde shades, plus the 'touch up' the stylist did in lowlights, when I asked for highlights no less. She basically put my natural hair color back in, when I wanted a lighter blonde, just not ultra blonde. Also, important note: the Very bright lighting is both natural and fake in salon, so do not expect the color to look the same in your car or at home. A nice moneymaking trick to give the 'appearance' of brighter highlights. They are a scam shop, using smoke and mirror techniques, hiring certified, but unqualified stylists, and begging and multi emailing review requests as soon as you leave salon. I always wait a few days for my hair and emotions to settle before leaving a review. It's been weeks, and I still hate my hair. Face waxing horrid. I can't see fine blonde hair close up anymore, (which is why I had planned to come in regularly) but can feel the many hairs around mouth not removed, plus sides were only half done. Tasha has an excuse for everything, after nixing my wax repair, she tried to get More money out of me to fix my horrible color when she stated over the phone and in front of three 'witness' stylists that she would fix my concerns at no charge. "Oh, but we can't wax, because you have a teeny bit of rosacea." Why did Amanda take my money and say "yes, I can wax your face, you don't have enough rosacea to worry about"? So no real fix: no waxing, no layered haircut, put in lowlights when I came in for highlights, and no refund.That is called Stealing! read more

I had my first appt with Jillyn today and she was AMAZING. I was 100% satisfied with my weave and cut. She went out of her way to make sure she understood the look I was going for and addressed my concerns. My hair is not easy to work with and I could tell she had a lot of experience and talent - She put a million foils in my thick hair very quickly! Fun to talk to and very professional. Riley did such a great job on my hair yesterday! She was super attentive, asked me a whole bunch of questions to figure out what I wanted (I didn't really know what I wanted). So after a lot of good and very specific questions/options/color swatches, she ended up doing a partial foil with smudged roots for me and the color turned out so phenomenal! The cut was awesome too, she added layers and trimmed off the split ends, exactly what I wanted. Great conversation with her too! I'll definitely come back to see her. :) read more

I left my stylist back home after over 8 years with her and I was nervous about going to someone completely new...enter Ashely from Rooted Aveda. I'm IN LOVE!! Not only was the salon beautiful and exactly what you would expect from an Aveda salon, but Ashley was so kind and so thoughtful and she listened to everything I wanted. And she delivered!! I went in for the first time and had my roots retouched, highlights and low lights done. It was pretty, but the highlights turned out too warm, making me look with a lot of red tones and no definition. I went back again and Shelby redid my color. She is incredibly talented. She has been the first stylist that has ever gotten it right with my hair. She was able to finally color my hair with a brown that is ashy, not golden or redish! And the highlights are carmel and blonde! She lifted my hair color, then she colored the highlights, then she toned everything. I am still amazed at her talent and techniques. I'm so happy with the results!!! My hair looks beautiful and healthy. Thank you Shelby! I can't wait to go back in 5 weeks! read more

I've been going to Ashley for my highlights for a couple years and she always does such an amazing job! Rooted is a beautiful salon and everyone is always friendly and helpful. You can have a wonderful Aveda herbal tea while you are getting your hair done and they're always very attentive. Ashley does a great job at natural blonde highlights and we usually discuss what I want with my hair at the beginning of the appointment. I like to bring photos so I can show what color I want, and it always helps to look at Ashley's Instagram to see all her work. She always explains what products she is using and how. I couldn't recommend this Aveda salon more and I definitely recommend Ashley! read more

Went for the first time today and Katie colored my hair. She was amazing! My hair turned out great and the staff were all so friendly. Before starting on my hair she gave me an aromatherapy head and neck massage, offered me a water and they had a charging bank right at the station to charge my phone during my appointment. Then while my hair was processing I was offered a snack (never had that before). It ended with the most relaxing scalp massage during my shampoo with a warm towel condition. Seriously - I've been everywhere and had a million different services done - this one tops them all! Great salon! read more

Ashley Rush is an AMAZINGLY TALENTED stylist! She has such a great eye for color! I've loved everything she's ever done on my hair. She has so much knowledge with today's trends and educates me on if something I'm wanting will work for me or not (everyone's hair is different) especially with Pinterest these days, so many filters and photo shopping being done. I have really gone back and fourth on whether to write this review or not. I have an issue with being too nice. I needed the brassy tones fixed on the blonde in my hair. I had gotten my hair done a few days prior (different salon). I thought a salon like Aveda would be able to achieve that. The hairstylist here was very nice. The service she gave me was great. I would say exceptional. My hair turned out pretty. The brassy tone is gone but so is the blonde. (I don't understand why). It is NOT AT ALL what I wanted. Quite the opposite. 300$ later (for both salon visits) I went from having a brassy tone and blonde... to ash brown. It seems so simple. My search continues. read more

I have been going to this salon for about a year. They are pricy, but I have had good experience. I usually spend about $250-300 per visit on a cut, color, and products. I have been going regularly... like once a month. Today, I was running a bit late for my appointment, so about 20 minutes prior to the appt, I call and told them I would be late. At about 15 minutes after my appointment time, while I was driving up, the receptionist called me and said I would need to reschedule because they have a 15 minute policy and now I must cancel and reschedule if I wanted the hair cut and color for which I was scheduled. I was surprised, because I had just called... you would think if they were going to cancel my appt, they would have let me know then. So, they will gladly take your money (and lots of it)... but if you need to be treated with respect... go somewhere else. I will from now on. The further insult is that on several occasions, I have waited at least 30 minutes to be seen for my appt. So they have a double standard and it is not customer service based.
