Needed service and called Rooter Hero. Now, I have to say I am NOT happy with dispatch... it took way too long for a call back (after follow up calls). We weren't sure if someone was going to call us, come out or not or if we should call other people etc. That was a pain. However, my 5 star rating is for the actual technician that came out - Jose R. He was professional from the start and VERY courteous. He treated our situation with care and listened to our concerns as well. He was very detailed about the extra work that needs to be done (which we also knew was a possibility) without being that pushy, dramatic, scare tactic using (your house is gonna burn down if u dont do this now) type of sales guy. They gave my elderly mother bids ranging from 12k to 24k without providing details, like on a hand written paper. They charged her 1500 which she paid for doing an inspection and telling her what she needed repaired. I called them to get details on what we would get for the 12k to 24k options and they never called me back instead they went to my mom's house again Uninvited and started asking her if she wanted to get the work started right away. Since it was such big numbers I wanted to get a second bid so I called another plumber who literally fixed everything for $2,400. Still trying to figure out what my mom paid them $1,500 for?? Jan 2020 update to prior five stars review. You get what you pay for. $2800 for hot water heater replacement with 10 year warranty. Given that anything you get from Lowe's or Home Depot fails soon after standard five years warranty that's actually a good price. Especially when one considers the fact this company consistently per quality work and a proper job done first time. They were on time and quick, job done at 1:30 for a 6am phone call. Our tech Chris not only cleaned up the entire garage mess, he took the dog for a walk too! We have had them on site for two major and multiple minor jobs, no complaints only complements. Had a last minute emergency flooding at my grandparent's house. Jose was our Plummer and was so helpful. He was super informative, calm and honest. He didn't leave until my grandparent's pluming was fixed. It was an absolute relief to have him come out. The other two Plummers before him were unhelpful and quoted us such high prices. What a great company! We had a camera inspection done and discovered there was a "belly" of water trapped in our main sewer line, and it needed to be replaced. This was no small job and a very expensive one too. Initially we were told in order to reach the sewer pipe, they would have to come inside and dig up our living room. I was in shock! After much discussion they decided instead to tunnel under ground outside our home to approach the sewer pipe, and replace it. We can't say enough wonderful things about this company. Jeffrey Young and Tony Alas went miles out of their way to make sure we were comfortable with what was going on every step of the way. Mathew came to our house to fix a clogged drain behind the washing machine. My wife was home, I was at work. He said he couldnt open the valve , behind machine going to wall and pipes, he would have to break oprn the wall, stucco, to properly repair lines, He Emailed an estimate for over $2000 that evening. Today I was home had a friends plumber come over, He opened the drain valve but broke his wrench afterwards, I gave him my wrench to keep that was similar that I never used. I would never Rooter Hero again, nor would I recommend them. I find it interesting that the 1 star reviews in Yelp were buried below the others. Our experience with Rooter Hero was extremely disappointing. The positive aspects were that they came out promptly on a Friday morning and Leon, the technician/plumber was courteous. The negative aspects were overwhelming. It was Friday morning and we had family of 5 visiting for a week who were using a shower that we hardly ever used. It began to drain very slowly. Since our house was 80 years old, it was no surprise to us that the original cast iron fitting underneath the house were rusted and leaking. So $1,589 later, it was fixed. We should have stopped there, but the supervisor, Mike came by to check the work and saw through his camera sent into the main that there was water pooling and there were roots impairing a good flow out to the sewer. Since we had a party for 50 scheduled in 2 days, we felt we needed to do something. Mike said he could (1) flush a powerful surge of water (2) run a "chain " through to cut out the roots for an additional $5000 which would be applicable to any further work needed to clear the problem. We were desperate and in a hurry to remedy our problem. After the "chain" the camera showed the roots were cleared. Mike then came back the next day to discuss what he felt our next step should be. He gave us 6 options, from as little as $9,353 to $25,716 - (minus $6589). He was willing to give us only 2 days to decide, after which the $6589 would not be credited to any further work. Nothing like high pressure sales. For money like that we always get at least 3 bids. Long story short, we don't feel we got $6589 worth of work (that seemed evident to us since they were willing to give us credit for other work), and when I asked Mike he never gave me a direct answer. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!. On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, we hired this company to rooter our drains. They charged us $800 just to attempt the job, and then said they would need another $500 to conduct a "power wash" to clean out the pipes. When we refused the power wash, the plumber suddenly declared that the drain was "too clogged" to be snaked and that a power wash was the only way to clear the pipes. When we again refused to pay for the power wash service because we believed it was a scam, the plumber demanded the $800 even though the drain was still clogged. When the plumber left, we called Dutton Plumbing, who came out immediately and cleared the drain with no problem for $72. I advise everyone to stay as far away from this company as possible. Great service and super fast response! The technician Jeffrey was awesome! I own a duplex and do not live in the Glendale area. My tenants called one evening around 6 p.m. stating that both of their toilets and showers were stopped up and backing up. After calling and leaving a message for 6 different plumbers, I finally was able to speak with Rooter Hero. They sent Jeffrey out right away and we ran through troubleshoot after troubleshoot until around 9 p.m. over the when we realized that the problem was with the main drain line being old and outdated. Throughout these troubleshoots, Jeffrey was in constant communication running through each scenario and letting me know what was going on. When we realized the main problem, he promised to come out at 8 a.m. the next day to start the work again. He came out at 7:30 a.m. and was able to replace the plumbing and put in a whole new main drain line. I found this company on a Saturday night after our kitchen sink clean out overflowed into a cabinet and rendered our sink inoperable. After setting a time, I received a verification text immediately and peace of mind that someone would actually show up. The next morning, I received a call that the plumber would contact me and he, Joshua, did within 5 minutes. He showed on time, listened to my concerns, and dealt with the clog. However, the 5-star rating is due to Joshua's candor, honesty, and professionalism. After clearing the clog, I asked that he hydro-jet the line. He didn't have the machine so he drove back to his office on a Sunday to get the equipment. He came back and did the job, but the machine he had did not get the job done to his satisfaction and he explained this to me. I wouldn't have known! He stated that he wouldn't charge me until he was able to get the correct piece of equipment and properly clear the line. On Monday morning, he came back and knocked down the job. When you call Rooter Hero you'll hear a recording telling you that their service people will be neat and your satisfaction is very important to them. Here's how it really is: Rooter Hero replaced a broken main drain at my house. They told me the job would be done in 3 days and it took 7 days due to disorganization and lack of planning. A 3rd party contractor finally completed the job but only after begging (I stood by as they called) for the supplies to be delivered. But it get's worse. My insurance needed a cost breakdown to give me compensation for the work. The plumber said he sent the breakdown and I paid with my credit card the same day. I found out the next day that he didn't. Over the next three weeks I asked for the breakdown and was repeatedly lied to by Rooter Hero's Service Manager. He basically refused to do 15 minutes of paperwork after I paid them $7500. I finally had to dispute my payment with the credit card company and contacted Rooter Hero's president directly. They finally sent a someone by who quickly finished the paperwork. Is this the customer service you expect? You've been warned... read more

In response to Lyndee Tanner's comment: Your review of my repairs are inaccurate as it was your tech who offered to have a family member install toilet to save costs. In fact I purchased the new toilet & had YOUR tech install it. Please note the simple fact that I had a root problem from the sewage line to inside my home should have catered to my need for a new flange to be installed initially to completely prevent a future concern only 13 months later. This flange should have been a basic part included for the required repairs & an expert plumbing company would known that . The placing of blame you have tried to present is not an appropriate handling of this situation. Simply note, if a reputable plumbing company is replacing a line from the sewage to the toilet, it should be repaired without leaving out one key repair part.....the flange! I continue to be dissatified with this company who has not been willing or able to take responsibility for an incomplete job that required an additional visit & charge to finish what was needed in the first place. read more

Beware the upsell!!! I called Rooter Hero to clear a bathtub drain. The technician took a quick look at the standing water in the tub and explained that he would have to remove the toilet to clear the line, and this would cost $275. Mind you, the toilet was flushing just fine. I'm no plumber, but that would suggest that it's not even connected to the same line as the backed up tub. Luckily, I called another plumber who confirmed my suspicions and quickly rootered the tub drain for $79. Nice try, Rooter Hero. read more

In my opinion Rooter Hero is an example of how all businesses should operate. I had my sewer line replaced 7 years ago by a company called Mr. Rooter. This past Wednesday I realized my waste was being spilled underneath my home after a plumber came out and informed me that my sewer line had an issue and needed service. I called Mr. Rooter and was routed to Rooter Hero (who had bought Mr. Rooter's business). A team of technicians and a site manage showed up within hours. I explained the situation and they jumped into action. They hired a clean up company to remove all the waste underneath my home and then showed up the next morning at 8:00am (the promised arrival time) and repaired the sewer pipe which had become disconnected to the main line. The situation was critical to me because I was hosting a Super Bowl party on Sunday and didn't want my house smelling like crap. The entire team at Rooter Hero was professional, courteous and always kept me updated on the situation. This includes the amazing ladies who worked at the main office and the dispatcher. Another important note - Rooter Hero covered ALL THE COST to address the issue! Overall an A+++++ experience with this company and I would highly recommend them to anyone requiring this type service. I recently had Rooter Hero perform a complicated pipe replacement under my guesthouse. Tree roots had grown into and around the pipes that were laid under the concrete slab. The job was challenging and required creative problem-solving. Mike and Tracy were up to the challenge. The found a way to replace the damaged pipes without having to trench the whole thing, which would have involved breaking a huge section of the tiled floor. Mike and Tracy were friendly, professional, and reliable and showed up when they said they would. They answered all my questions and kept me informed. I am extremely happy with the work they did. This is the second job I have had Rooter Hero do for me. The first was a few months ago when we had a backed-up shower. David came out and took care of it. He was polite, friendly, and competent.
