My mom's shower drain was clogged and I thought I could unclog it myself using a plastic drain cleaner and drano. Even though I pulled out a disgusting amount of hair, the water was still rising. We needed help fast, so I requested an appointment for the following morning, got a confirmation phone call, and set up the appointment for 10. By 10:20 I was showering and singing aloud in a fully drained shower without fear of the water rising up. So thankful our technician DOMINICK came out on time and cleared the drain in a fast and efficient manner. He also warned us about the dangers of using drano. Just terrible...SCAM! Today I got a call from a tenant that there was a leak by her shower and that it looked to be leaking in the wall. These guys came out and quoted me $5000 for the fix. When i said no way they said they could do a "temp fix" for $1200. The photo they sent me was a picture of the pipe with a "sharpie drawn line" to make it look like the pipe was completely cracked. They seriously used a sharpie to "draw a crack" on the pipe. I said no thanks. I called a second plumber, who came out. He said the seal on the pipe was bad...said he had to just replace a small section of pipe and reseal...his fix totaled $150! I gave him $250! The pipe is now fixed...and all section of pipe replaced/sealed. Don't call them! They thought because the house was in a "not rich area" we would be idiots and accept their ridiculous estimate. We had a clog in shower drain that was making the water back up. Easy problem to fix with a snake right? Well, what if I told you the builders of "said shower" grouted the freaking drain right into the tile so there is no way to remove the drain to snake, without busting up the tile? Ugh, not so easy! Enter Yelp! We did a "project" where we sent pictures and our situation out to a bunch of plumbers. Rooter Hero Plumbing responded and was able to schedule a free inspection the same day. Antonio Ceja came out and said that they could actually snake the drain with a tiny snake (like through one of the itty bitty drain holes) and they were running a snake-special if you will, for $77. The clog was removed, the shower drains perfectly and we didn't need to pay a gabunch of money to break up the tile to get the freakin' grouted drain out the shower floor. I'm not sure how long this review is going to be so I'll so a little bit of a comparison, every single quote I got for this other than Rooter Hero needed all sorts of personal information, i.e. a phone call, email, all the data mining and I don't do well on phone calls. Rooter Hero was the only one that accomodated me, arrived at my house within two hours of the request on Yelp. Diego was exceptionally professional, took one look at the issue and said 'Ah, yes, the lunar waneshaft has reticulated inside of the tranverse ducting and now you have a drippy faucet.' That's not an exact quote but I don't know plumbing hench the need for a plumber. I had a quote about a minute later, and he said that he would go get the part because the retail parts were out quickly etc. Work took an hour and a half, I paid him, and that was that. No run around, upselling things I don't need, and coming from a guy that doesn't enjoy any type of pressured sales situation, their interaction with me has made me save their number in my phone for the next time I need a plumber. We need more cutsomer service interactions like this. read more

Called because they had a "snake any drain for $60" deal. Technician came out and took some pictures and pointed at some stuff. He told my husband it would be $300 for one type of snake job and almost $2000 for the hydrojet snake. He literally did nothing, offered more expensive services, and left. My husband ended up going to Home Depot and renting an electric snake and just did it himself. He's not a plumber. We called a professional for a reason! Someone called me to ask if I wanted to move forward with one of the more expensive services. I told her what happened and how we did it ourselves. She sounded surprised and sympathetic and forwarded me to the customer service line. Alex from customer service called me back but I was not available to answer. I called him back four or five more times in the following days and left messages. I never heard back from him. This company doesn't care about the customer. Completely disappointed! I called because of a drain in the tub that was clogged at a rental property I manage. The technician went to the home and snaked the drain, then called me and told me that it was still not draining and that it needed to be jetted. Quoted me a price of $2,400 for the whole house. I explained that all of the other drains were in good working order and asked how much it would be for just the one drain in the tub. He quoted me $1400. I declined the service and called a local company Hydro Brothers In Claremont CA who are amazing. Their technician showed up and the Drain in fact did not need jetted it was draining perfectly fine. Based the experience I had with Rooter Hero Plumbing, I do not recommend their plumbing services. I called for their services to clean two of my drain lines and the work they performed was of a very poor quality. I had a low drain in the Kitchen/laundry line and the effort they put to clean this line was very minimum (15 minutes). After they cleaned the line there was no improvement in the slow drain, then I called them and requested for a second attempt to clean the same line. After my request they stopped answering my calls and Emails. This is very unprofessional way of doing business. read more

We had first called them up on Tuesday for a clogged toilet. They came out same day and initially fixed the problem. But then two days later, the same problem came back up and the same Plumber came out and fixed our toilet, taking extra steps to make sure the whole problem was solved. I've dealt with the plumber Mike for 3 months now on multiple occasions and he's been nothing but overly helpful to me and in abnormal and difficult situation that's own going. Me as a tenant have been without basic plumbing necessities for 3 months and Mike has been the one person who help me through the process as well verify and complete anything that has needed to be done even through the difficulties that have presented themselves. Bad dirty practice with my sink pipe drain repairement. The technician trashed stinky mud in sink p-pipe directly into my clean remodeled white bathtub infront of me. I have to clean them in front of the technician. He did not wear shoe covers in and stepped on my white foam mat leaving many black shoe prints. I have to wash the mat right away. Left pipe dirty at my since bottom and sink bowl. I have to clean them out. No value for the over $700 to replace a sink drain pipe. Not recommend this company at all. read more

STAY AWAY FROM ROOTER HERO!!! This company is a complete rip-off and I want to share my experience to warn others. I called Rooter Hero on a Friday afternoon to clear a 4" exterior area drainpipe running from my driveway, around the side of my house, and out to the backyard. They arrived within the hour and told me the best method was hydro jetting, claiming it would also cut through any roots. I was quoted $1,844 and asked to sign a contract digitally on the technician's phone. Shortly after, another technician arrived with the hydro jet machine. Within 10 minutes, the hose reached about 15 feet in and the tech suddenly stopped, claiming the pipe was "collapsed." He then spent the next 30-45 minutes upselling me on repairs: $8,000 to fix the "collapsed" section, or $16,000 to replace the entire line. This was a huge red flag -- I told him I wasn't moving forward. He packed up and left. I was suspicious, so I dug the area myself and discovered there was NO collapsed pipe -- the issue was exactly what I suspected all along: roots. The job they quoted for $1,844 was not done, and the excuse they gave was completely false. I then entered what I can only describe as a customer service nightmare. I called daily, left messages, and was ignored. I finally reached a rep named Alex Rodriguez who asked for 24-48 hours to look into it. A week later, no callback. When I finally reached him again, I had to repeat the whole story, and his final response was essentially: You signed a contract, we're keeping your money. Let me be clear: * They performed minimal work (less than 15 minutes of hydro jetting). * They misdiagnosed the issue. * They attempted to pressure me into thousands of dollars in unnecessary work. * They provided no meaningful service and refused a refund. This company charged me $1,844 for almost nothing. That breaks down to nearly $4,000 per hour of labor. Outrageous. And then they ghosted me. This is predatory behavior. I have filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and begun consulting with Consumer Protection Attorneys. Thankfully, I later contacted DRAIN MOB. They were familiar with Rooter Hero's reputation and came out quickly. They cleared the drain in 2.5 hours for $875 and did a fantastic job. Highly professional, highly recommended. I called them out to unclog my bathroom drain and when the tech showed up and tried to snake the clog, he then advised he was unable to do so and needed to call his boss out. When the boss came out without even doing a proper assessment, he advised that they need to pull up the tile to be able to give an estimate however that process alone would be 2k. Then started talk about flushing the kitchen pipes. LIKE first can we get the bathroom resolved as we have no other issues other than that. Anyways we called out Bell Bros who was able to unclog the drain in 10 minutes and charged $87. We still ended up paying Rooter $59 to basically try to rip us off! read more

We had an issue with a backed up kitchen sink. Another company resolved the blockage, but then told us we had an issue with our sewer saddle. It was a huge surprise and we weren't just going to spend over $25k just on one guy's opinion. We had already booked a consult with Rooter Hero and when they came out, they were happy to give us an estimate. Due to the serious nature of the problem, Cristian escalated it to his supervisor, Byron, who came out with more equipment and scoped our line. It turns out the issue was not a problem, and they saved us $25k! They also showed us potential problems and future issues with our sewer line. The plumber Byron was a hero today. He went above and beyond helping me out I am a renter who had a slab leak that was repaired by HOA however the landlord is 84 and house bound he has a handy man who is to change the floors in the house that's his job. So he told the 84 years old owner he detects moisture and had a plumber come out to the house I trusted and gave him a key to my house. he and this plumber from a company in brea I really want to give the name of that company but I'm not . He came Friday and said there is possible leak under slab said he did leak detection test but didn't find the Leak And said he can repair it For $ 11,000.00 dollars and said he repipe the house for $22,000.00 dollars. I later that night got a text message from The handy man saying I would like you to leave the property and have your renters insurance find you a place to Stay you should not stay there. I got very scared and called the owner I got no answers from him . I told him I will call out someone to check it myself on my dime$$. Rooter hero came out did the leak detection and Found no leaks plus at no extra cost also checked for Moisture and found moisture I video taped him . He told yes moisture in carpet that got wet during leak he asked if They taking it out why Not take it out now so you see the slab since you are replacing it anyway. He talked to the Owner and also wrote a report he said the insurance company did not complete the drying and even though he is not a professional in that area he went the extra mile for me to include it that he should contact his insurance company to look into the matter. He saved me from a mess that this handyman was putting me through . The handyman told the onset he can do the repairs to the house and pay more rent. My kitchen sink clogged up and I saw their $77.00 special and called. Their plumber came out and was unable to snake the clog out. He told me that they had other equipment to try, but it could be further out. He started talking about under my foundation etc. He offered the extra equipment to start off at a charge of between $1,900 and $2,500. I declined. A friend recommended Henly's Plumbing. They came out and successfully snaked out the blockage. It was between the sink and the drain out. The same area that the Hero plumber snaked. Plus he didn't tighten the sink fittings when he left. What a mess. To be fair Hero didn't charge me anything when I cancelled them. Make of it what you will. read more

They ripped me off for thousands then tried to get me to buy new unit. When I called to complain the manager showed up and tried to tell me it could not be fixed. Rooter Hero offered free inspection and estimate. They ended up charging me $471 for camera inspection after I declined the ridiculous estimates...one at over $10,000 and one at over $5000? They stated I had old pipes that needed to be replaced. I reached out to another plumbing company and only paid $450 for repairs and everything works fine now. New plumbing company tated I already had ABS material and after hydrojet, everything was in good working condition. I will never do business with Hero Plumbing. They reached out and stated the Management team would reach out to me to try to resolve but I have not heard from them. read more

BEWARE! I called this company when my regular plumber was away. "$77 any drain clearing"That's what the website said and that's why I called. I had a back up in a tub and I knew it was just hair. I tried troubleshooting with no luck so I googled plumbers in the Glendora area and they popped up. Called made an appointment. The first guy (tech) arrives snakes it pulls some hair, then runs the snake which seemed like forever and proceeds to tell me I have most likely a broken branch line (I'm on a slab) because he saw "mud" proceeds to call his supervisor he tells me I need a clean out(which was on the list to do) and using the jet would clear the clog and the main line. I agree to the price just under $5000 I was there before and after to see the camera footage main line looked nice and clean after didn't appear to have any major damage. They begin to tell me I need a new sewer line or line it. By this time I'm certain I'm being scammed. The quote, $13,000 to line my main sewer line and $15,000 to fix my "broken" branch line in the shower. The jet guy was extremely pushy. All he kept saying was they need to be on the ticket, they need to get paid and feed their family. After asking for all this money he kept talking about his stupid corvette. I was done. I asked them to wrap things up I was good with the clean out and jetting the sewer line. City came approved the work and they left. My plumber was able to make it out. He put his camera down the main clean out. His opinion, my sewer does not need to be lined anytime soon. He went into the restroom in less than 5 mins, snaked the tub pull hair and magically, the water drained perfectly, no mud found. He then proceeds to tell me play by play what they did and how I got scammed and their "tricks" I felt like an idiot. He charged my $350 for his services. Now he's getting multiple jobs around the neighborhood because he's good and honest. Spoke with a supervisor from Rooter Hero. I complained and told him how I got scammed. He agreed to refund me what my guy charged. It's been almost 2 months and no refund. Beware on these guys. Liars and very pushy! read more
