Over $500 plus tax & tip for a color and highlights that I hated. She bailed during the session to a less experienced but nice stylist for a blowout. No explanation , no thanks, nothing about price, no goodbye. I think she is/was the owner. She just yelled to the other stylist about how they'd split my tip when she got back. I should have asked price but had no idea the cost could really possibly be that high. I did mention to the 2nd stylist that this look was not the coloring I was looking for at all. She really didn't have any suggestions and probably didn't want to get in trouble. I believe I kindly texted Sherry, the Owner, emailed her and called her several times. All of which she never responded to. I was overly polite. I do not recommend supporting this business, she doesn't deserve it. And definitely don't go to Sherry/Stylist/Owner for color or anything else. She did a terrible job, never apologized, never offered a refund or re-coloring. Was just generally dismissive to me. Go to Kristy at JCPenney salon at the mall in PD. Fabulous color and cut for amazing prices. I can't tell you anything about the other stylists but they all seemed happy & positive and supportive of one another. I've seen good reviews for many of them, but I really love Kristy. Went to Sherry's while on vacation for my birthday and got a new haircut by Sherry herself and what a great job she did! She walked off at least 8 inches and gave me a whole new look in the hour timeframe she had. So thankful she was able to do what she did and she's so wonderful and friendly! My mom went here to get her extensions done. Sherry was very rude to her the whole appointment and insulted my mom's hair cut. Sherry did a poor job placing the extensions. The extensions were too tight and caused her a headache for several days. I've been going to Sherry for my hair forever and would never consider letting anyone else touch my hair. Last year the barber that had been cutting my boyfriend's hair for 18 years, retired. So, he referred him to someone in his shop. When he went for his next haircut he came home with a cut he could have gotten at a military base. It was a DISASTER! Brian has curls that most would die for, and they cut them all off So, the next time he was ready to get his haircut he came to Sherry. She cut his hair PERFECT! It wasn't too long, it wasn't too short, it was literally PERFECT! Brian never lets anyone trim his beard because they always screw it up, but I convinced him to let her try. PERFECT! My boyfriend lives in Phoenix, so the next time he needed a haircut he went to someone his friend uses. Again, he came home looking like a DISASTER! I didn't want to tell him it looked like someone had used a bowl as their guide to cut his hair. Needless to say, from now on he will be traveling 3 1/2 hours to get his hair done by Sherry. My natural hair is fine, very curly, and difficult to keep styled throughout the day. As a little girl, I put "long, beautiful hair" on my Christmas list for Santa to bring me, but, being over 50 years old, I just about gave up. . But Sherry has been able to fulfill my little girl dreams!! She works magic by applying the hair extensions and then cutting and styling them so that it looks like my own hair. During the CoVid shutdown I had to do without seeing Sherry and could really appreciate how beautiful and glamorous Sherry makes me feel. Many hairdressers can put in extensions, but it takes one with advanced skills and talent to select multiple shades for a natural effect and to cut them into a natural shape. This salon is absolutely fantastic. My hair was in beyond horrible condition and Lauren literally gave me the hair I always wanted. I could not recommend this place enough. Lauren has some serious talent. I'm a brunette (kind of ashy darker brown) and Lauren gave me an all over blonde that looks so natural. The most flattering shade for my complexion and she painted a brown matching my roots at the top so when my hair grows in it will look more and more lived in. I've never had a low maintenance blonde before, but it's so perfect I can't stop staring at it. And the cut she gave me is awesome too. I left the salon feeling amazing. read more

Stay away from this salon - they charge a fortune then they don't guarantee their work. I paid over $950 for hair color and other services and within a week the color was gone and the extensions fell out. Sherry had no time to fix anything - she said she was booked for the next 2 weeks then going on vacation then yells at me - asking me to be on "CALL" any day any time when she has a moment. She seems very stressed and angry. The service is very bad and they know nothing about customer service. My head hurts from her service and I have been taking tylenol for a week. She then threw stuff at me and said she wasn't going to work on fixing my hair because I asked her to wear her glasses so my hair doesn't get pulled. She is a real con artist. I left in tears. She is not talented at all and shame on me for using this salon - there are much better ones out there! read more

Wow...Sherry Mesa is easily the most well-kept and smoothly operated salon I've ever come across. I'd been holding off on a haircut for months and after getting a recommendation for this place by one of the cardiologists I work with, I figured it was worth a try. The staff here were able to accommodate me on short notice on a weekday afternoon and as soon as I arrived, I was offered a seat and choice of beverage while I waited. Jen Martens took care of me and I was thoroughly impressed with her skill and expertise as she explained what she thought would work best for me. While the price is certainly up there for a men's haircut ($35), it does include a wash, awesome scalp treatment and dry that were all very welcome additions. My stylist used to be Ms. Ashtyn! I went to her to get tape extensions in. Before I left, I told her that they were "too long". She did not want to cut it and suggested that I wait a few days to see if I still wanted to cut it shorter. (Fair enough). The love was short lived. Well little did I know that my hair was uneven and not blended at all. Immediately after she put my extensions in, she curled it. I was unable or rather did not see how my hair would look when worn straight. A couple of days later I washed my hair and when I blowed dried it straight, it was horrible!!!! My hair did not blend at all!!!!!!! SMH! Not only did she charge me 1200 (cash), charged me (150) because she took longer to install them (while training another stylist how to put in extensions during my time). The issue here is that if you are going to charge me 1200 +150 plus tip at least blend my hair (geez). I had to go to a different salon​ so that they can clean up the mess. I had to pay AGAIN! smh. Not happy with the service anymore. I usually pay$50 but this time it was $75 not sure why but Mauricio refused to do my highlights so I had to switch to another salon and got them done for $45. I've been trying to grow my hair and he chopped off my length in the back and my hair grows slowly. Not sure what changed with him but will not be returning. read more

Love this salon and Tee (tianna) was amazing. I just did a hair cleanse and deep condition but it was so nice and relaxing. The salon is super nice and I could see that they used the highest quality products which is important to me. I've also never had my hair blown dried so quickly lol. Idk what she did but my hair usually takes forever to be blowed dried but it was quick and beautiful afterwards. I highly recommend the salon. Especially tee. She was so sweet and professional. I went to Sherry mesa's salon on El paseo. It was by far the worst experience out of salon I have ever had. It took Helen my stylist, five and a half hours to attempt to complete my hair. It was the worst haircut and color I have ever had. I paid over $200 for this hairstyle. I would never recommend going to Helen she is very inexperienced with both color and haircuts. Part of the expense of that haircut and color was ridiculous even if I was on El paseo. I would not recommend any service from Helen. read more

This salon was recommended to me and I was told to go to Sherry so made an appointment with her. She advised she was running late and I said no problem, however, after 20 minutes, I asked her how much longer and she gave me attitude saying that she told me she was running late. Really?? I told her that I had to get back to my office and she suggested her daughter. I decided to take a leap of faith and sat in her chair. During the cutting process, she excused herself and started talking to another stylist and continued the conversation while I sat in the chair. This was one of those days when I decided last minute that I need a haircut, called Sherry Mesa 5 minutes before showing up (because they were close and had good Yelp reviews) and they took me in no problem. My stylist, Charly, greeted me right away and sat me down to examine the damages (I needed a haircut real bad). She was hands down the most knowledgeable, funny and detailed stylist I've ever had.
