I was in the mood for juice and got excited when I found Roots online. When I got there I quickly started to look at the menu but before anyone even said hello they let me know they don't take juice orders placed 10 minutes before they close. I can understand the reasoning so I decided to find a smoothie instead at which point the cashier just stared at me as though I was wasting her time. Great experience here and would suggest Roots if you need a health filled pic-me-up. Dragged myself in here after feeling lousy for a month with allergies and general respiratory uncomfortableness. Tried their miracle juice and got a mini bottle "shot" of flu fighter for good measure (just in case). Also tried the house "green juice", and it was nicely balanced with ginger and green veggies, but a little sweetness from apple too. Service is always slow when I come here. I ordered online to try to avoid this as I was in a hurry. I arrived 15 mins after ordering (it said order would be ready in 5-10 mins). The guy at the register was not friendly at all and told me he didn't get the order. Never apologized for their mishap and I had to wait 10-15 mins for a smoothie to be made. On the hunt for delicious smoothie bowls and I found this cute little spot nestled in a Lake Mary market with shopping, a park and plenty of parking. Lots of choices on the menu from juices, smoothies and smoothie bowls. Fresh fruit, granola and plenty else to go in made fresh to order. They also have these little raw nut balls that are so good that you could eat the whole pack in one sitting. Occasionally, I, stop by this location. I feel like there may have been a change in ownership or management and not necessarily for the better. The smoothies are about the same however, the sandwiches are lacking. I purchased the peanut butter sandwich and there wasn't even enough peanut butter to cover the whole entire piece of bread. I came here to grab some smoothies to-go and the actual smoothies were great but the delivery could be much better. First, the cups are clear plastic instead of paper, which makes your smoothie melt faster. Also, the straws are paper instead of plastic, which means you have to transport the straw separately from the smoothie because otherwise the straw is mushy and unusable by the time it makes it to your smoothie-craving spouse. Stopped by after the gym for an Acai bowl. It's right in the heart of downtown Sanford. Don't move too fast or you'll pass it. I tried the pb&j per the cashiers recommendation. For the fruit bowl you have a choice of organic açaí or pitaya (banana/almond milk), Blue Majik (mango, banana & almond milk) or Matcha (banana, mango, coconut milk). Next you can choose between specific bowls or make your own though you can always customize. I chose an Islander bowl (with additional blueberries) and an Açaí base. My Sister and friend also ordered Islanders with Blue Majik and Matcha based. (The Islander is really popular). We were warned that the Matcha was an acquired taste but it was really good. Loved this place from their Sanford Location so I was very excited when I found out they were opening a Lake Mary one! Perfect location in downtown Lake Mary next to a boutique. If I'm not mistaken this is the only raw juice bar in Lake Mary, and it's so good. They have juices, smoothies, kombucha, wraps and snacks here. Great place for quick breakfast pick me up or lunch. I also ordered up an elixir shot (2oz) of Lemon/Ginger and a hummus and veggie plate to go. The hummus was yummy and veggies were freshly chopped and prepared for my order. (No dry carrots!) The Elixir was appropriately zingy, a great way to power up my morning the next day. Roots Raw Juice Bar also had a nice offering of healthy snacks and a keg of fresh, locally made Farmboy Produce Kombucha, which you could enjoy by the bottle or get a growler filled.
