Roquette is one of my favorite cocktail bars in Seattle. They are located next to Umi Sake House behind a blue door. When you enter you enter a kind of dim light oasis. I would recommend sitting at the bar for your first visit so you can get recommendations from the bartenders (ALL OF WHICH ARE AMAZING). They've also added more food and have caviar as well. Love me some speak-easy bars! What a lovely find! Despite being a Seattle native, I'm not familiar with what Seattle has to offer in terms of speak-easies. I have visited a number in Philadelphia as well as NY city. I suppose I simply doubted Seattle could live up to my east coast experiences. I'm happy to say Roquette proved me wrong! Firstly, true to the speak-easy persona, the entrance was questionable in identification. We couldn't tell if we were at the right place or if it was even open. When we recognized the entrance however, we easily entered and found ourselves in a very cool, throwback, swanky bar. It was relatively intimate and seating was readily available because we arrived around 5:30pm. Happy hour lasts until 7pm, which makes sense because that's prime dinner time rather than "drinking time." Unfortunately, our visit was a few weeks ago and I can't recall the exact drinks we ordered, but they were excellent cocktails that weren't OVERLY sweet like many bars do. There were generous pours of liquor, and fruit cocktails were made with fresh fruit. I only remembered to do this review because we are pending a second visit before the New Year and needed to send this place some love! Great find! I rarely go out in Belltown, but I'm so glad I checked out this place! We were able to sit right away at around 8pm on a Friday and the staff was so great! Parker made some great drinks and even made us an off-menu mixed shot based on what type of flavors we were looking for. Nice atmosphere and dimly lit speakeasy vibes. A group of 6 of us were able to get a reservation the day of for the night. The place is in Belltown, and there was ample parking on the street at around 9pm. Definitely enjoyed the decor and blue/gold theme of the place. Cocktails were alright...not bad but nothing too special in my opinion. I feel that some of them lacked a bit of flavor or seemed to be missing something--I can't tell. The cocktails are strong, however, so you definitely can get away with just one drink. Prices are expected--ranges from $16-$45 depending on the drink (average ~$18-20). Service is a bit slow...though I completely understand. With only one person manning the whole place, it definitely is hard to attend to each customer meaningfully. I would suggest having one more worker to check in on customers or make drinks. Overall, I would give this place a 3/5 or 3.5/5. Drinks and service were just okay, but the atmosphere and decor make the place intimate and cozy. read more

Great atmosphere. Able to get in without an rsvp. Reasonable prices but also some higher end stuff if you're celebrating. I had the Jade Monkey which was delicious and the Tom Yum Mule which I wouldn't necessarily say was delicious per say, but it truly tasted like Tom Yum so I can't be mad! read more

The bar is never full & has two bartenders working, there is no reason for a 15-20 minute wait just to have a glass of water poured. Roquette is one of my favorite bars in Seattle. Their take on craft cocktails is very creative and delicious. The place is pretty snug so getting a seat can be challenging during peak bar hours. I always reach out to them via google live chat and they always respond within 3minutes and help answer questions about the current wait, reservation requests and other questions that you may have. Came through here with the understanding that they're probably still working through some opening kinks. Belltown has some amazing cocktail lounges already, so Roquette is up against some stiff competition. I might be back for a date in the future, but with Rob Roy, Mr. Darcy's and Branchwater a stone's throw away... maybe not. The drink I got (think it was called Madame Derrier? Something bitter with whiskey) was indeed amazing, but spendy, even for Seattle. Date's drink was also good. Both were nice 'n' strong. But again, there are tons of great options around. The inside of the bar is very dark, but somehow missing that coziness I expected. Maybe it was just because it was a sparse night... The service wasn't great. We sat at a table near the window, away from the bar, and the server kept coming over to us (just have been half a dozen times, maybe more) to ask how we were. Each time, we were fine. I got the impression they wanted us to leave or order another drink or food, and we just didn't need it. read more

This place as been on the list since they opened and I am happy that I finally got to try them out. The bartenders are the best, we decided to sit at the bar and they walked us through the menu and helped us with suggestions. I'm a fan of craft cocktails and trying out new drinks so I was pleased to see that they were very patient and understanding. From looking at some of their reviews about 6 months ago I definitely think their level of service has improved. Be prepared to spend some money since the drinks can be pricey. Probably my new favorite place in Belltown. The bartenders are the best. They have great listed cocktails and I've had them invent a new cocktail on the fly. If the place isn't super busy, they will interact with you making you feel really comfortable. The bar is built around the cocktails and the bartenders. The decor is okay for my tastes. The place can be too small at times so great for a romantic stop but a large party might have to wait for a large table. If you want more than bar snacks, skip this place but come back after you had food for a great time. read more

Table ran out of chairs so we pulled some of the bar stools for our friends (remember empty bar). Lady told us we couldn't use the stools because it would block the "aisle" and would be a fire hazard. Fine, returned stools. Friends stood around the table and lady came back and said we couldn't stand around the area because it would still block the aisle and still be a fire hazard. There was a corner area that opened up and she suggested we sit there. Corner area was large, was not next to any aisle, but still did not have enough seats (poor floor management, there's 8 of us), and bar still empty. We pulled some stools cuz we figured no fire hazard. Lady said she we couldn't use the stools and wanted her stools back. Friend mumbled a complaint and lady goes on a power trip, flexes that she has the ability to kick us out. We weren't loud, rude, or belligerent to any degree. We barely finished our first round of drinks. Whatever... we decided we didn't want to stay. Slammed our drinks and scrambled to get out of there. Don't worry lady, I won't come back. I will take my yellow ass and green backs somewhere less hostile. Btw, bar was still empty when we left. read more

The menu will grow with time -- I believe it's been open less than a week -- but I was able to try their 47 Monkey Vesper, the white Negroni, and a TBD spirit-forward Mezcal cocktail (a creation of barman/designer Kyton). Each featured layered flavors that are perfect for the Summer. Design-wise, the place is intimate but well lit, and the walnut accents and eclectic wallpapers throughout make for a fun backdrop. Had a couple cocktails on a Sunday night, catching up with a friend. I would rate this experience alongside Damn the Weather. This is a damn fine cocktail bar. I had the first 2 Agave cocktails; the second in particular was knockout good, very smoky yet delicate and botanical. Should have asked the bartender's name so I could shout him out; he poured a couple tasters of spirits I had never encountered. Roquette - I think is one of the top bars in Seattle. It's definately our favorite. We like to pop in on a week day when it's slightly slower and sit at the bar. Always at the bar! It gets pretty crowded on a weekend but it's also nice. Bartenders are very professional, down to earth, knowledgeable and kind. John is great! A wonderful cocktail bar or lounge. A great meeting spot for a date or friends who want a masterfully crafted cocktail. Each drink is broken up by the type of spirit and as you go down each list the drink is more "developed" or full bodied and more alcoholic. We had the brandy old fashioned and the cab we elope. The old fashioned was a wonderful take on the traditional with great winter taste and spice. Each drink had the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness and alcohol. The bar staff were definitely masters at mixing cocktails and not shy on conversation. Overall a pleasure to enjoy a drink at and will definitely be back. read more

So my friends and I stopped into this bar while we were waiting for a table to open up at a different nearby bar. It was cute and comfortable, not very loud and the drinks were good. They asked for vax cards which I appreciated. Well, our group went to the other bar for about an hour and five horrible drinks before quickly scooting out to go BACK to this place. The drinks are so well balanced and very inventive. The bartenders were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and were more than happy to give drink recommendations and talk about the different rums and mezcals they liked and recommended.
