I've been going to the original Lone Tree…read morelocation for years, my company actually financed and built that one out; so I had to check out this new spot on Mainstreet in Parker. This one's got a cozy, small-town vibe, tucked between other shops with plenty of seating both inside and outside. From the second I walked in, I was greeted with big smiles and a friendly "Welcome in!" The staff here are genuinely nice and make you feel at home. Of course, I had to get my go-to: The Bronx Bomber: pastrami, egg salad, spicy mustard, Cajun sauce(my add on always) on both sides, pumpernickel bread, lettuce, tomato, and thin-sliced red onion. Absolute perfection. This sandwich always slaps. My coworkers saw it and immediately asked, "Where did you get that?" Told them straight up -- Mainstreet Parker, Heidi's got another location. Every bite takes me back to the NYC delis I grew up with and miss dearly. If you're craving a legit New York-style deli sandwich with flavor that hits every time (and comes with potato salad or chips), this is the spot. I ordered egg salad instead, with bacon, on a hoagy roll with sesame seeds on top, pickle spear, and potato salad for my side. The egg salad was very good (lettuce and tomato added), bacon was a short piece on each half of the sandwich, so not worth the $2.50 up charge, I'd say. The hoagy roll was fresh and generously sized. (I saved 1/2 my sandwich for later.) The potato salad was meh, but luckily there was very little of it. Should've have selected the Lay's potato chips, or one of the other chip options available with an up charge. Hubby was very disappointed with his corned beef Reuben. The marble rye bread was chewy (is that normal?), and the only condiment he requested, mustard, was missing from his sandwich. The sandwich itself was smaller than expected. Again, the potato salad side was astonishingly tiny. We decided it was a 3-bite portion. We were able to park out front in the street to pick up our order. There are a few tables inside, but they unoccupied at 6:30 pm on a weeknight. No plans to visit again.

I generally avoid leaving lower reviews on "mom and pop" places because I don't want to impact their ability to live. But their response to my daughter's comments rubbed me the wrong way. So, let that color your take on my bias of the rest of my review, but it's honest and accurate. While we were there, I found the owners very friendly, nice, and kind to us. They were very conscientious in fixing their mistakes, and I appreciated that. They're not nice with online retorts to less-than-stellar reviews. The food was fine, and my father loved his lox and cream cheese on a cinnamon bagel. He is eager to have the second half for lunch tomorrow. I found my own turkey sandwich incredibly difficult to eat as it presented more like an open-faced sandwich in need of a plate and cutlery. The sub roll literally wrapped halfway around the contents and fell apart after every attempt at a bight. I would have preferred a quarter of the oil (which was not in the menu description), as it overwhelmed most of the other flavors. SO MUCH OIL! Oil was going everywhere (Not in the menu description). My wife and I both got the turkey sandwiches, and neither had mustard (which was in the menu description). We both got a couple of banana peppers (also not in the menu description), and mine had a sundried tomato (also not in the menu description). SO MUCH OIL! For a $19 sandwich, the construction of the sandwich is flawed, and the flavors need tuning. Plus, they claim they are consistent with their menu, but my experience and other reviews tends to discredit that claim. You be the judge. With these changes, I would have gone back. However, while I did NOT get this feeling when I was there at all, but in reading that response to my daughter's review, and their responses to many other negative reviews, I now believe they have a huge chip on their shoulders and lash out more than is acceptable, which is zero. I'm sorry for their attitude because I predict it will be their downfall. I rate them at two stars because of the attitude that I experienced after we left, and seeing their online responses. I would've otherwise given them three stars because of the food.

I'm just going to start by saying my family and I have been to Rory's Diner about 10 times and we would always give it great reviews from the food to employees that work there. We made reservations on Mother's Day. When we showed up they tried to turn the Diner into a fancier restaurant, probably to go with the $30 fixed adult price and the $12 fixed kid price. This didn't include coffee or a beverage. To start we asked the hostess if we could get a booth and she said no all the booths were reserved. There were only about 6 tables filled in the restaurant at the time and the whole hour we were there no one ever came to sit at the booths!?! When we sat a server came over, that didn't even look like she wanted to be there, and didn't even explain the totally different and eclectic menu that we were given. When my husband asked her what the lavender dressing was and what it had in it, she replied with and said.... lavender.... and she thought it might be a mouse! Really you are a server... you don't know!?! Just a suggestion... offer your guest a sample so they can try it if you don't know what it is. Then I asked about some of the menu items and her reply was.... it's what it says it is on the menu! LOL we basically spun the wheel and ordered. I can keep going on about the food but needless to say we were way less than impressed and don't even get me started on the kid menu and how they served a $12 egg, bacon and potatoes. Let's just say on a small plate with one egg, one piece of bacon and probably a 1/4 of a potato cut into about 4 pieces. This is my suggestion, other than not recommending this 'style' of food. I have been wanting to try Rory's for a while now and finally found the place a little bit off from Main Street in Downtown Parker. There's a sign on the building that says "Diner' so you know where the building is. There is some parking as much as you can expect from Downtown Parker. Now you find the building, but how do you get in? There are little fences that look like you would go through you you don't. There is a tiny sign in the restaurant window that says go into the main entrance double doors if the building and then enter from there; super confusing to say the least. There was another table next to me who also stated they were about to give up because they couldn't find the way in. I got the corned beef hash because I thought it would be like other corned beef hash and 'mushy' but there were a lot of chewy chunks in it like it was sausage or chorizo which made me a little ill for it. The eggs and the rye bread I had with it were also decent but nothing to write home about. I may have to come back and get something else now that I know where this place is and how to get in lol. read more

Rory's Diner consistently knocks it out of the park when it comes to both food and service. They're not a big chain -- just a small, locally owned spot that takes care of everyone who walks through the door. The place has a bit of that classic throwback diner vibe, something you might stumble upon along old Route 66, but with the convenience and efficiency of a modern restaurant. It's easy to get in, enjoy a great meal, and settle your check without any hassle. I really hope Rory's sticks around for a long time -- it's become one of my favorite go-to spots. read more

Overall, came in super excited to try the place as I love a good brunch, and left not thrilled with the execution of my food. I wouldn't not come back, but I am also not rushing back. Fully understand that it could have just been a my plate issue kind of experience, but it happened, so that's what I have to base the review off of.
