They gave me my drink with easy ice, but charged me 50 cents additional for it. The fact that they even could ring that up on the register is nuts. We had mixed feelings about our experience. The food arrived on time, and I appreciated that they offer plenty of vegetarian options, which can be hard to find. That said, the food itself was underwhelming. The Tom Yum soup was just okay--it was much too lemony and had very little tofu or vegetables. The basil fried rice was decent, but when we ordered the exact same dish a second time, it was surprisingly sweet and tasted completely different. The biggest disappointment was our child's stir-fried noodles. We specifically requested no tofu and fewer vegetables, but the dish arrived with mostly tofu and vegetables and only about 5-6 strands of noodles. The portion sizes also felt quite small. We spent around $70 for a family of three, and the value just wasn't there. My husband and I come here whenever we can because he loves the pad Thai. I like the Tom Kha soup, but everything I've tried so far has been good. The food comes with some hot pepper powder, pickled jalapeños, and sambal sauce on the side if you ask for hot sauce. If you have a higher spice tolerance, you can ask for fresh Thai chili on the side instead! Our usual order is usually the pad Thai and garlic crispy pork with cilantro sauce! The crispy pork is crispy, but also soft once you hit the meat. It is a good choice for those who don't like only crispy skin, or only meat. It's the best of both worlds. The pad Thai is nicely moist without being too soggy. It's sticky at most. Once you mix it with the bean sprouts, it comes out perfect. I also recommend their Thai tea! I get one every time and it isn't overly creamy. The music is pretty loud if there aren't a lot of people in the restaurant, but it's not too bad. The Tom Kha can feed 3 people and could also make for a great appetizer. Loved the sour taste and the wood ear mushrooms were a nice addition. We got a mild green curry but the spice felt more like a medium. Great flavor profile. I thought the Garlic Chicken with salt and pepper would be on the savory side but it was actually sweet. I wouldn't say the portions or the prices are very noteworthy, but the flavors stood out compared to other typical Thai restaurants. One guest said they could tell the ingredients were fresh. Came in around 8:30PM on a Saturday night and was able to be seated right away. Our server Max was super friendly and attentive. I loved my pad kee mow with pork. It was saucy, the meat was cooked just right and i liked the bean sprouts on the side. It was also the right level of spicy. I also enjoyed their papaya salad, not too crazy spicy. Their shared tom yum soup was delicious with a side of rice. We also got the mango sticky rice and it was drowning in coconut milk, which I LOVEEE. It was perfect. Flavorful, seasoned well, and one of those dishes that just feels comforting. Now the Kang Phed Yang (red curry with roasted duck)... the curry flavor itself was good, but the tomatoes and pineapple threw me a bit. Recently moved to RR looking for best pad Thai in the area and Ros Niyom Thai came highly recommended. Had the Chicken Pad Thai twice now and it is delicious! Upped the spice level to very spicy the second time and it was exactly what I wanted. Tried the Kang Keaw Wan (green curry) very spicy as well and it was phenomenal. The perfect level of spice that builds as you enjoy more and causes a cleansing sweat and your nose to run. The veggies and chicken had great texture. I'm always torn between Pad Thai and Curry, so I recommend getting them both so you have leftovers! The staff has also been very kind both times I've picked up. I thought it was delicious, and I liked how there was some tofu in it too as some restaurants don't include tofu in addition to your meat of choice. Today I was pretty disappointed with the food I got. The pad Thai and the fried rice were both very soggy. Didn't think it was fried, but kind of wet. And the curry had a bit of a bitter taste to it, maybe I'm just not used to the veggie they used. Tom yum soup was amazing tho. I really loved the soup. This place is located right off 35 near flix brew house. I believe it's been there for quite sometime however I've never been before and I haven't no idea why. It's not a large place. They had plenty on the menu for both meat eaters and vegetarians. For our meal we tried the following: We tried the shrimp cakes 2/5- I think these had chicken in them or maybe a soy protein i forgot to ask ,but highly doubt it was shrimp only. Reminded me of a chicken patty we got in elementary school. The sauce it came with was taste but I wouldn't order that again! We also tried the fried mushroom app-3.5/5 to me they tasted like they were sitting in oil too long but they were still good. The oyster mushrooms were chopped / torn into small pieces and it wasn't whole oyster mushrooms that were served. yellow curry-w veggies (4.5/5) kinda disappointed we asked for veggies and it came out with tofu- personally I don't eat tofu but the others at the table did so it worked out. This was a typical curry on point for flavors but wish there had been more potato or veg. The steamed shrimp salad with magos was surprisingly really yummy! (5/5) Since we were all sharing I had it on my plate with the noodles and curry and it was good mixed with those or by itself! Perfect flavor and very refreshing! Needed some actual chopped lettuce or cabbage but I would order again! Pad kee mow with shrimp was very good (5/5) we got spice level 2 and had the spice tray so everyone could add to their liking! I've been to several top Thai spots in Austin like Titaya's, KHON, Sap's, Madam Mams, Sip Saam Thai, etc, but this place has really captured my taste buds. The pad see ew, pad prik khing, and tom yum soup were all very flavorful and made with high quality ingredients. You can tell the kitchen staff are not afraid of seasoning. All the dishes were well rounded & had complex flavors, aromatics, textures, etc. They do not skimp on quality in any way. To me, this thai restaurant nails authenticity more than any other thai spot. One big, but pleasant, surprise for me were the curry puffs. I had never had an appetizer like that before. A texture and flavor explosion. Highly recommended. The interior decor is nicely setup & cute. Not overbearing, but enough personality. I will say, however, the lack of HVAC ventilation or AC was a bit distracting from the overall atmosphere as we were here in the summer. Hopefully, this will be fixed sooner than later. I can see myself being a regular here and coming more often. The noodle dishes, soups, appetizers, etc are all standouts and will not disappoint. Not sure why all the great reviews. My vegetarian green curry lacked depth of flavor and the portion was very small in comparison to other Thai restaurants in Cedar Park and Parmer area of Austin. In addition the broccoli was over cooked, only had 3 very small pieces of tofu, and carrots that seemed to be commercially cut, and not fresh, with one small slice of eggplant. I give 3 stars because the fried oyster mushroom appetizer and Thai tea crepe dessert was better than my actual meal. I've been to Thailand, so I'm quite critical of Thai food in the states. The mango sticky rice wasn't bad but I believe we were hoping to have more mango flavor in the rice and not just topped with mango. It was a decent takeout meal, perhaps not the best given the state of the world, and we haven't had a chance to go back since then. Fast forward to last weekend, we found ourselves in Round Rock once more and rediscovered Ros Niyom as our new favorite Thai restaurant! Between the two of us, we shared the Moo Ping pork skewers, Tom Kha, and Pad Kee Mow. Pricing is very fair considering the portions and generous amount of protein in the dishes. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly flavored, and the noodles even came with a delicious char that you only get with masterful wok-cooking. If you're less adventurous with spice, I recommend getting an order of white rice or Thai milk tea on the side. Ros Niyom offers a spice scale of 1-3 stars and even the lowest option packed a good amount of heat. The restaurant is cozy, meticulously decorated, and well-cared for by a team of attentive staff. We marveled at how quickly dishes were flying out the window and at how efficiently tables were turned around after happy customers wrapped up their meal. You can adjust the spice level, which is always great. Mild is good since there's a light kick to it, sure can satisfy a group of non-spicy and spicy eaters. One can share between 2-3 people.
