Myself and my hungry group of friends came to this establishment on Eid so it was absolutely packed! We were hungry and ordered a little bit of everything family style. We were able to satisfy our hunger! At some point everything started to taste the same and it was hard to appreciate individual flavors of the food. The cheese naan was absolutely amazing and that was first to go. Service was on the slower side and waiter did not come to check up on us and if we needed water.

Had the paneer tacos, Mongolian beef, tom yum soup, and garlic butter noodles. Food was served hot and didn't have to wait long. Everything we ate was flavorful. Id order everything again and try other items on the menu. Aqdas was our waiter and was great. no wait for table and restaurant is clean.

Tried it on the recommendation of our friends, and it turned out to be really great! Ambiance was good . Not crowded on a weekday lunchtime, and our server Nawal was awesome. She checked in with us time to time , and made sure that our order was perfect! Just a feedback that we couldn't taste any diff between the Manchurian and Hakka chilli chicken entree sauces. Overall it's a nice Indo Chinese food place in the area!

Ever since I moved to the US, finding an authentic street-style Indo-Chinese has been hot or a miss. It was easy to find one in the Bay area or NYC but in Austin I was always left with disappointment until I got recommended to The Spice Garden. Arrived here on a Saturday night and I should say the exteriors and the interior and the ambiance were really worked into. It wasn't your regular Indian restaurant. It reminded me of entering a large PF Changs. There wasn't a wait time when we arrived but got really crowded post 8pm. Got our seats and service was prompt and quick. Such an easy to handle and elaborate menu. My order: Veggie dumpling Chinese bhel Chilli garlic noodles Gobi Manchurian Veggie dumpling was amazing. Well steam and filling was well cooked but the side was so spicy but still tasty. Wish they served more than just 3 pieces. The Chinese bhel was such a disappointment. It wasn't fresh and it smelled bad. The taste was towards the sweeter end. Would never recommend it. The Chilli garlic noodle and Gobi Manchurian stole the show. They were just perfect including the texture, taste and spice level. I could just eat the Manchurian directly as a main dish. The quantity is so large and the price is on the expensive side. This restaurant can be a frequent destination.

First time eating here was Easter 2026. I was pretty anxious about the food because I don't eat spicy food, but I was able to find some things to enjoy! We started with chicken lollipops and cheese naan; so delicious. The chicken is well seasoned and the naan was so cheesy and soft. My boyfriend ordered general tso chicken and I ordered mixed Lomein. Everything was hot and fresh, and seasoned so well!! The restaurant itself is incredibly clean and the decor is nice. Very open and spacious. Staff was decently friendly.

Gobhi Manchurian Soggy and the flavor is mid. Server asked me if I wanted it dry or sauced so I asked if I could have a cup of sauce on the side... he said no that's not possible bc it's already tossed in sauce lol Like... what?! Mmk. Anywho, they done have bullet naan. We got garlic instead and it was soft but bland. We ordered this and tandoori chicken with a side of Raita and a mango lassi. $60 Needless to say never coming back :(

Exceptional food! The food are rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced, you can taste the layers of flavor in every bite. The lamb curry was velvety and comforting, the lamb rogan josh was incredibly tender. Fried rice leaf curry is a bomb. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered from this location via the Yelp app on July 19th and 'yikes' is the only word that only way to explain what I received. Shrimp Tom Yum- For those who are living under a rock, Tom yum is a type of Thai hot and sour soup where the iconic flavors come from 3 herbs: lemongrass, galangal, and makrut (kaffir) lime leaves. This soup had an extra ingredient in it (a human hair), so in the trash it went. In addition, the small shrimp in this dish weren't deveined. While it's safe to eat shrimp that aren't deveined, some people prefer (like me) it be removed because it can be gritty in certain preparations and can also contain some grit from the shrimp's bottom-feeding habits. Chicken Lollipop A chicken lollipop is a fried chicken appetizer popular in India, often served at Indo-Chinese restaurants. The dish features trimmed, marinated chicken wings that get deep-fried and coated in a spicy Szechuan sauce. The name "chicken lollipop" is a nod to how the chicken wings look after trimming. While this is normally an appetizer I enjoy, this time around I did not. Why? The chicken for this dish was hard and dried out. Mongolian Beef- The beef for this dish was gamie (not in a good way). Gaminess isn't necessarily a bad thing. When eating exotic or wild meats, gamie can potentially mean a higher quality of meat, not filled with antibiotics or genetically-modified grains. The meat was gamey in the way that seems like it ready to turn. Chinese Bhel Chinese bhel is made out of crispy fried noodles tossed in an Indo Chinese sauce along with fresh crunchy veggies and herbs like scallions and cilantro. This was the only slavagable thing I ordered. I guess thats because its impossible to fumble a punt. This was $102.84 blown!

Stopped by for dinner to check this place out. The price on the menu is pretty pricy and portion is quite big. We ordered paneer pakora and chilli chicken as I have liked chilli chicken and wanted to see if anyone could beat one of the place we love to go. Here chilli chicken comes in different style so we tried it and it was ok. Not impressing or anything. The fried paneer was good. We asked the server to have our food comes out all at the same time but what came out first was veggie pakora and we didn't except it. However someone stepped up and said they would fixed it and we again made sure that we want it all at the same time. At time of pay, our server was giving us the check and mentioned that he repeated the order twice ... which kinda put us in an at fault for not listening and correcting him? To me it was kind of rude. That kinda put my whole experience down to 1-2 stars. But because the other server or manager step up and try to make it right, I leave it at 3. The decor was nice. More up scale. I would say I wont be coming back. Not the type I like.

This is a great option to sit down and eat or takeout! The inside is well decorated and clean and the service is kind. Loved all the foods we ate - the chicken Thai curry was a nice creamy fusion, the shrimp chowmein tasted great with chili oil, and the dragon chicken was crispy and tasty! Look forward to coming back!

I love that they have so many vegetarian options!! I ordered my food to go. First was the veggie dumplings. I got one order steamed and the other Szechwan. - both of them I give a 10/10 on flavor . The rider of 3 is $8 and the dumplings are the size of a golf ball. I think maybe a 4th dumpling would be appropriate but I would order again forsure! I got the garlic Naan which was very flavorful and perfect texture. Last I had the Gobhi Manchurian which was fried cauliflower in a brown chili type sauce. This is why I took one star off. The cauliflower was not seasoned whatsoever ever and quite greasy. The sauce however was delicious- I ordered it medium and I probably could have gone for the next level up as far as spice goes. The sauce was great to dip the naan.

Nut allergy friendly: Let your server know but there were no nuts in anything we tried. Order - to - Entree: 15-20 Minutes I placed a reservation for 7 on a Wednesday evening at 7:45 PM, which didn't seem needed because the restaurant was pretty empty. Dishes I tried: Kasmiri Lamb Rogan Josh (4/5): Effectively a slightly sweeter Lamb Curry with saffron flavors. I liked it better than the regular lamb Curry. Lamb Curry (3.5/5): Nothing special, not too spicy. Nice that it came with rice. Chicken 65 Fried Rice (1.5/5): Barely any chicken for what it is. Wouldn't recommend. Mongolian Beef (4/5): Solid, not spicy. Garlic Naan: Only came with two pieces for order, which is very little for the price in my opinion. Portions were decent. I'd say one dish can be lightly shared with 2-4 people, or comfortably filling for one person. They do have a buy one get one discount entree at certain hours.

    18% for 3 year old

A 3-Year-Old's Plea: Dear Spicy Garden, Please Don't Count Me as an Adult Hi... I'm just 3 years old. I can barely finish my kids meal... I hold crayons more than cutlery... and I still need help climbing into my chair. Today I went to Spicy Garden in Austin with my family -- 4 adults and me. My parents are regular customers there. They've taken me many times, and I've always sat quietly, doing my toddler things. Their menu says: "Gratuity applied for parties of 5 and above." Okay... but I didn't know I was the "fifth." I didn't know being a baby means I suddenly became an adult on the bill. But that's what happened. They counted me, a little 3-year-old, as an adult just so they could charge 18% gratuity. I'm tiny. I don't order a full meal. I don't take up server time. I barely know how to hold a spoon properly. Why did they count me? But here's what I heard the grown-ups say: In Austin, gratuity is usually for 6 adults Sometimes for 5 adults But never--ever--little kids like me That's how restaurants normally work. They don't make toddlers "adults" just to add extra money. When my parents politely asked why, the owner said: "We've been in business 10 years. It is my wish." His wish? To count me -- a baby -- as a grown-up? To charge my parents more... because of me? That felt very mean. I'm just learning how to talk. I'm still learning my ABCs. I didn't think I had to learn about unfair restaurant bills at age 3. Please understand: Counting toddlers as adults is not fair Families don't deserve rude answers And little kids shouldn't be used to force extra gratuity I may be small. But this felt big. Big enough that even I understood it wasn't right. All I ask is... Please show mercy to little kids like me. Don't count us as adults. Be fair. Be kind. That's all a 3-year-old wants.

I uploaded their recent menu items as they have a new staff and are still in the process of training them to serve their whole menu again. My personal favorites that I get on rotation each time I come are the Banh Cuon w/ Pork (Vietnamese Rice Cake), Large Banh Xeo (w/ no squid), and Com Ga Di Bo (Rice Plate w/ Boiled Chicken). I always order a side of Goi Cuon Nem Nuong with my respective entree as well. The Sugar Cane Juice is absolutely delicious, fresh, and not too sweet. The service here is always friendly, attentive, and timely. Nice relaxing atmosphere with television and restaurant music for your dining experience. Definitely recommend for all my fellow Vietnamese food lovers!

Safe to say, this place has texas sized portions! We will definitely be back cuz I always crave pho when it's rainy season. The inside was vey inviting and tastefully decorated. We had the Beef Bulgogi Bao, this was really yummy. The bao was soft and delightful. The beef had a sweet bulgogi glaze that worked really well with it. The rest of the toppings added a nice balance without overpowering the meat. My only wish was that it was 4 baos and not two since they are so small. The highlight was the Firecracker Shrimp. Be warned this is not a spicy dish like you might think from the name. The crispy shrimp was crunchy and not soggy at all, it felt pretty clean and not greasy. It came with salad, rice and a spicy soy sauce and it was just so good. With 12 shrimp, it's definitely shareable between 2 people. Lastly we had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was $6. It tasted like Ovaltine and was mostly ice with just a few sips. I wouldn't recommend it unless the cup size is increased or the price is decreased. So overall, it's a bit pricey. The menu was also a little confusing. We checked online prior to coming and they had a lot of stuff but when at the restaurant, there were only a few items listed which caught us off guard. We actually ended up ordering the wrong item (firecracker shrimp when we actually wanted dynamite shrimp, ultimately it worked out cuz it was delicious but the problem still stands). So those are the only cons I can think off. Other than that, The place was fantastic. Did not think Hutto would have a place of this caliber. We will be back to try the rest of the items, it all looked so good. Definitely will be a repeat customer. 4.5 stars rounded up for now.
