First Visit: This was my first time stopping by, and I knew I was in for something good the moment I caught the aroma of the food from the parking lot. Ambiance: It's a charming Thai spot with limited seating, but the layout is thoughtful and inviting. The background music was pleasant and at a comfortable volume--definitely an improvement from what this location used to be before becoming BarnYen. Service: I was greeted right at the door and given the option to dine in or take my order to go. I chose to stay, and I'm glad I did. The service was warm, attentive, and helpful with any questions I had. Food: The menu offers a great variety of dishes. One section under the fried rice options was a bit confusing at first, but the staff explained it clearly. Once the food arrived, it became the highlight of the visit. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot-on, and the pricing felt very reasonable. Overall: I highly recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're craving Thai cuisine. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.

A year later I decided to try this place again. Only because it is so much closer and convenient. I glanced on the reviews and decided to go with most suggested items. Pad kee mao and red curry. Kids meal, chicken teriyaki was actually good. We really liked red curry even it was on a sweeter side, they add pineapple to this one. However, pad kee mao was not what I expected. It was good, but I would order it at different Thai place I go all the time. I think in overall, it is a good food and pleasant service. But it won't be mine go to place.

Really enjoyed the food here. Had the pad Thai and slow cooked panang. Will be back for the khai soii Thai iced tea.... CLASSIC. Got the slow cooked short rib panang as a medium. Slight kick. I wouldnt consider this spicy level "Thai" spicy. I was sad they ran out of the mango sticky rice!! So will also be back for that.

Got to come and dine in here recently. Started with the appetizer sampler -I was only able to try seafood and veggie items but my friend enjoyed the shumai for me! The peanut sauce for spring rolls was also very good - perfect texture and flavor- this is going to come into 2nd place of my all time favorite peanut sauce! We tried the pad Thai and the pad kee mow- medium w extra hot oil on the side (Glad to say I didn't get charged 2.75 for less than an oz of hot oil this time! ) We also ordered the mango sticky rice - it was lacking the coconut sauce when served but they didn't mind getting us more. Everything was delicious and I will definitely be dining in vs take out moving forward however I will say the waitress we had was young and not very attentive while we were there and had to flag her down a few times for small things! There was a kind middle aged lady that showed up toward the end of our meal and was on her game! 10/10 recommend

My husband & I loved this place. It reminded of us Madam ma'am's. Dare I say better????! 10/10 so good! The service was nice. We didn't speak much with the only person we saw but she took our order promptly and filled our drinks when they got low. No complaints. The food. PHENOMENAL! I'm a crackhead for anything crab fried rice. Theirs? Perfectly seasoned and mouth watering good. Truly I can't wait to go back just to order 14 more of em. We also tried the sampler, which I recommend as well if you're not quite sure what to order. My favorite was the cheese roll (it's basically a crab Rangoon in a fried egg roll format) *drool* My husband got the Khao Soi - also DELICIOUS. I was truly so wrapped into my own dish I almost forgot to try his but it was phenomenal! Some other fun perks - they have outside seating. Say Lesssss & Count me tf in! I can't wait to go back ‍

I have to admit, I resisted trying this place because it has the word "barn" in the name. I was so wrong to be hesitant though, this place has fantastic Thai food and great service. The atmosphere is chill and cozy. I have tried the red and green curry and both are incredible. I have also sampled their pad Thai which is delicious too! I especially love the mango sticky rice!

We have tried this spot twice now , one takeout and one time eating there. Both times excellent We tried the Pad See Ewe , Khao Soii, Taste of Ginger, Gyoza and Tofu spring roll. All 10/10 and our waitress was very attentive and sweet as well. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu!

The food there id say was a 5/5 for me. the flavor, the taste, the aesthetic, AND QUALITY was great. All for a reasonable price as well. I don't remember the name of what I got but there's a picture lol. It's some sort of curry with chicken but to me looked like ramen so I said eh why not? Best decision. Then I got a starter/app which was the normal egg rolls and the spring rolls with the tofu option. Egg rolls tasted like there hand man from scratch and I've eaten homemade before from my homies grandmother. 5/5. The spring rolls were favorite they came out looking fresh clean and dished nicely. 5/5 The service is normal, nothing over the top just standard service. Pretty self explanatory when you enter to order. They sit you down , ask for drinks and you know the rest. To me in my humble opinion I believe this was a really great spot for a date it's looking nice and clean inside , it's modern but also authentic to the culture at the same time. Nice place. ALTHOUGH today the ac was out maybe in the spot but it was a bit hot in there, but they had those swamp coolers in there to accommodate us which was nice. My Main dish was 23 bucks for a lot of food and quality. The app/starter was 8 bucks for 3 rolls and looked liked 6 for the spring rolls The egg rolls were 8 bucks for 4 rolls. The price was affordable and reasonable. I tried to take picture of the before but I honestly couldn't help myself lol. This business has QUALITY, AND EXPENSE it's pricey but not too pricey just look at the menu and browse. The food quality was immaculate so I have no complaints. Great job ! Definitely returning again to try something else, as it was my first time just randomly getting thing I thought would be good.

This is by far one of the best Thai restaurants around the area. The Tom Yum and wonton soups are among the best I have tried. I've had a number of dishes there but the yellow curry is outstanding. It's always busy but quiet and the service is very attentive. It's kinda like a mom/pop type of place.

We stopped in on a Saturday evening coming home from a trip out of state. Everything here hit the spot and we loved the ambiance and food. Staff were polite and had great timing for getting orders out. The khao soi was my favorite and so authentic. It was very similar to the one I had in Thailand. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

Came back multiple times actually. A couple of times for take out and one more time for dining in. I originally wanted the Thai Boat Noodle, but they were sold out. So I ended up getting the Khao Soii. And oh my goodness!! It was so delicious and flavorful. A little kick to it, but not too spicy. The breaded chicken was done very well, and was very tasteful. I will definitely order this again, but probably after trying the Thai Boat Noodle first. This place has grown on me and I'm delighted to have found a Thai restaurant closer to home. The service is great and the people are very friendly. The place and restrooms are very clean and neat.

Finally, a new Thai Restaurant in the Hutto/Round Rock/Pflugerville area has arrived. And thankfully, it's a really good one. BarnYen by Thai Spice is a a huge addition to the somewhat sparse Asian cuisine options we have. We went with their appetizer sampler which included spring rolls, egg rolls, cheese roll, coconut shrimp, shrimp tempura, chicken satay, and shumai which were all a great way to start the meal. My wife and I split the Pad Thai with chicken and Panang curry with pork, both at hot level spiciness. The food was fantastic. Super flavorful, authentic, and just the right amount of spice. We were able to watch the cooks prepare the food as their kitchen is out in the open. Our server was very kind and attentive. The vibes in the restaurant were very chill and welcoming. I would highly recommend all of you to go check it out!

The waitress checked on us several times. That said, I would not come back here. The noise level was horrendous. The constant scraping of metal chairs on concrete and the echo chamber the tall blank walls and bare metal ceiling causes was equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for the whole meal. Additionally , the music volume was SO high. I think someone went up to talk to them About the noise and the employee just looked like he didn't care , wouldn't look at her and just kept shrugging and making a "what can you do face". I almost asked them to turn the music down too but instead wore noise canceling AirPods my whole meal :-/ it was not an enjoyable experience to be honest and canceled out the other positives i mentioned. Hope they do something about the scrapping chairs in the future. Idk-put rubber caps on them all and have extra to replace them as they inevitably fall off???

I usually go for the chicken or ribeye beef bánh mì, and the portions are just right--not too much, not too little. The bread is made fresh daily, which really makes a difference. I also appreciate that there's some flexibility with customization if you're not a fan of certain traditional garnishes or want to add extras. Their Vietnamese and Thai dishes are consistently good as well--I tend to stick with their curry, which never disappoints. On this visit, I stopped by for Vietnamese iced coffee and some baked goods. I tried the shortbread cookies; they weren't soft like I had hoped (their lemon cookies are soft and delicious- my husband had it from here before), but that's pretty typical for shortbread. The iced Vietnamese coffee is one of my favorites here--perfectly balanced, not overly sweet and not too bitter. The café has a nice setup with a decent amount of seating--great if you want to stop in for coffee or sit down and enjoy a meal with family. The staff are always friendly!

Disappointing portions despite decent flavor. This visit felt like a tale of two dishes. 2 stars…read more= It could have been better, and it definitely could have been better. I ordered to go. On the positive side, the Pork Bahn Mi was pretty good. The bread was fresh and chewy, the veggies were tasty, and the pork had good flavor. That said, the meat portion was noticeably light. It wasn't terrible, but a few more pieces of pork would have gone a long way. The real letdown was the Chicken Pad Thai my friend ordered. Pad Thai typically runs anywhere from $13-$19 or more around town, and this place caught my attention by pricing it at the low end ($13). Unfortunately, once you opened the to-go container, it was clear why. The portion was shockingly small--maybe 25% of the container filled--and there was barely any chicken. It honestly looked like a kid-sized portion. I have actually seen this trend with other places where you get less when you order to go. At the store I inspected the order and noticed this, so I mentioned it to the staff and was met with a shrug and silence. When I brought it to my friend (who's petite and loves pad thai), even she immediately asked, "Where's the meat?" She finished it and was still hungry--and that's never happened as she eats Chicken Pad Thai weekly. She confirmed with me that she was not pregnant (lol) so I ended up sharing my sandwich with her. She said it tasted fine, but nothing special, and definitely not worth $13. While the Bahn Mi was solid, the overall experience screamed shrinkflation. The lower price point felt like a bait-and-switch once you see the portion size. We've had Chicken Pad Thai at places like Sip Saam, 888, 1618, and others for slightly more money, but with far more food and chicken. We enjoy trying new spots, but this was a one-and-done for both of us. Saving a few ounces of noodles and a couple pieces of chicken might minimally help costs in the short term, but it hurts customer trust and satisfaction long term. Fair portions matter just as much as flavor--and unfortunately, this place missed that balance. The lack of response when I mentioned the small portion size made me feel dismissed as a customer which made the experience worse. Priorities, I guess.
