Beyond disappointed with my experience at Rosa Clara in Coral Gables. What was supposed to be an exciting time turned into a nightmare filled with deceit, unprofessionalism, and unethical behavior. I visited the store in February 2024, over a year before my wedding, to purchase what I thought would be my dream wedding dress. They took my measurements and assured me that the dress in my size would be ordered from Spain and ready for a first fitting in December. When December came, I was shocked and heartbroken to find that the dress they gave me was several sizes too big and missing the signature sleeves that were supposed to come with it. Instead of admitting their mistake, the store manager insisted the alterations team could fix the oversized dress to fit me. After a lot of back-and-forth, they finally acknowledged the error and promised to order a new dress in my correct size, which would be ready in January 2025. However, what followed was a month of poor communication where I had to send emails and repeatedly beg for updates, only to be left in the dark. When the dress finally "arrived", my nightmare continued. The sleeves on the dress were completely wrong--nothing like the original ones I'd seen when I first fell in love with the dress. They staff even tried to convince me that these new sleeves were "better" and that the original ones were now "out of style." But the worst part was discovering that this still wasn't a new dress in my size. They had hung a new tag on the outside of the dress that said size 36, making it look like it was the correct size. However, upon inspecting the inside of the dress, my mom and I found clear evidence on the inside tag that this was the same size 42 dress I was given back in December, just altered to fit me. Instead of delivering the brand-new dress I ordered, they altered the larger dress, lied to my face, and tried to pass it off as new. I felt deceived and robbed of the chance and time to find a new dress elsewhere. This process caused me so much unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyful time. With only one month left to find a new dress, I ultimately asked for my money back because I would rather walk away with no dress than continue doing business with this store. If you're considering Rosa Clara in Coral Gables, I strongly advise you to think twice. They don't value their customers or the importance of their wedding day. I'm writing to share a serious concern regarding my experience with a seamstress named Digna, who was recommended to me by an employee at your store. When I purchased my wedding dress, I was already over budget and trying my best to make things work. A staff member kindly suggested Digna as someone who could help with alterations at a lower cost than the store, and I was incredibly grateful. Because of that recommendation and her seemingly affordable pricing, I decided to go through with the purchase and signed the non-return agreement, trusting I was in good hands. Unfortunately, the experience has been deeply upsetting. Digna charged me $600--which is a premium price, equivalent to what in-store professional alterations would cost. I had no idea it would be that expensive until after I bought the dress. But more distressing than the cost is the quality of the alterations. She completely ruined my wedding dress. The dress is now asymmetrical from the shoulders down to the waist. She lifted the waistline up to my ribs, distorting the structure and making the entire silhouette look awkward and off-balance. When I voiced concern, she told me I couldn't wear the dress like the model because the model was "tall and thin" and said that I needed to be on a "balanced diet." For context, I'm 5'4" and 150 lbs--not short or overweight as she suggested. Her comments were both inappropriate and hurtful. When I picked up the dress from her home, I had a sense that something was off, but it didn't fully register at the time. I'm not a seamstress, and truthfully, I wasn't in the best headspace--my mother had just been discharged from the hospital, and my grandmother was still hospitalized until just last week. I am their caregiver and sole support, so my focus has been on their well-being and medical needs. It wasn't until three days ago, when I excitedly tried the dress on to show my grandmother and had my mom take a picture, that I realized just how bad the alterations were. That's when everything unraveled. That night, I panicked and messaged Digna late. She denied having done a poor job and responded with the same condescending tone, again referencing my body type and implying I couldn't expect the dress to look right on me. She then offered to modify it again, but said she couldn't do so until late May--my wedding is in early June, and that timeline was unacceptable. I told her on Monday that I could not wait that long, so she moved the appointment to this Saturday. Absolutely loved my experience with Rosa Clará. I came in January 2022 to look for my December 2022 wedding dress. They heard me and took my budget and inspo and presented me with beautiful options and then took a risk and showed me what I didn't think I would like but ended up loving, wedding dress. The team cried with me and my mom and brought out champagne, it truly was magical. I had my first fitting in October and today I got my dress ready and with plenty of time before the wedding. They took beautiful care of me and the dress. Everyone is super nice, they speak both English and Spanish. They have a great selection of dresses and a good range of budget. I would definitely recommend coming here, even if it's just to try dresses. They give a private room, which is something very special because only you and your party get to see the dress. read more

Brides beware. The shop is beautiful, and unlike the other shops on the mile you get to try the dresses on in a private dressing area where there's a curtain for changing and an area on the other side of the curtain for your guests to sit. I liked that setup but that's all smoke and mirrors, the latter part very literally. So my trying on experience was positive and I fell in love with a dress with a gorgeous bodice, but was not a fan of how poofy it was. Dayana, the woman handling my appointment told me they could remove layers and make it less poofy, similar to another dress I had tried on that I preferred the skirt portion. After trying on several dresses at different shops we decided to buy the dress with the gorgeous bodice based on the promise it would be less poofy. It was the store model so I was glad I wouldn't have to worry about it arriving from Spain in time, which was another reason I chose that dress over one at a different store that I also loved. I still ended up feeling rushed to have my dress ready in time despite my planning ahead. In January (my wedding was in April) I got in touch with the shop about scheduling my first fitting. It's a pain to get in touch with them - they don't answer the phone, their voicemail is full and don't respond to emails - the only way I could get in touch with them was WhatsApp but I was never sure who I was speaking with. They told me to schedule for 2 months out but I was traveling so I opted to start my first fitting a little earlier, trying to have plenty of time on my side. At my first fitting they removed the petticoat but it was still poofier than I wanted. I thought once they did the bustle / hemmed the train I might feel more confident. I asked them to make the bow smaller too. I had the shoes I was planning to wear and they measured me to hem the dress and take it in. My second appointment was over a month later. When I arrived all they had done was taken in the bodice and added cups. They had not hemmed the dress at all. The woman who was helping me questioned whether I was wearing a different pair of shoes because she had to remeasure the hem again. I was not. They made the bow smaller but not the size I requested so I felt like this appointment was a waste of time. My mom came down from Palm Beach for my fittings so it was an inconvenience not just for me who had to take off work but also her. My wedding was still a month away at least. They scheduled me for a 3rd fitting for 12 days before the wedding. I expected to pick up my ready dress then. The night before the fitting I got a text from my wedding planner saying they had left her a voicemail thinking it was me saying that the dress was not ready and asking if I could reschedule. I did not get the message til after they were closed. My appointment was at noon the next day and they don't open until 10 so I didn't resolve whether my mom should come down and we could reschedule until a little after 10 the next day when they finally picked up the phone. We rescheduled for the following afternoon and when I go to pick up the dress they had not hemmed it still! They said the seamstress was there and would hem it right now and I could pick it up in an hour. All my other fittings were about 45 minutes so I had not allotted to have the time to wait around but fortunately I was able to rearrange my schedule. I stood for close to an hour as the seamstress pinned all the layers of the dress. They told me they couldn't hem the train as they would not be able to bustle it otherwise. I do not understand that and the bustle I ended up with was not helpful at all with so much skirt still on the ground that my sister tripped when dancing with me. I wish I could have pushed back but with my wedding a week and a half a way I felt pressured to accept their incompetence. They told me the dress would be ready in an hour and they would call us. My mom and I went to have dinner but they didn't call so after over an hour we walked back and they were finally finishing the dress. They had me walk around on their smooth marble floor to test out the dress even though I informed them I was having an outdoor wedding on mixed terrain and walking down stairs and was very concerned they had made the dress too long. I had asked them to make it shorter when they were measuring it to hem it. They assured me it was great length, but on my wedding day I was tripping over the dress. My planner had to safety pin the dress before I walked down the aisle because I kept stepping on the dress during getting ready shots. While I loved the dress, looking back at my experience and that I couldn't even keep the dress on the whole night because the bustle was ineffective and the dress was too long, it probably was not worth buying it. My experience at Rosa Clara started out wonderfully back in June and unraveled almost completely in the week before my wedding in December. My dress arrived from Spain in the first week of November, as promised, though I was not able to get a fitting appointment until November 18th. My alterations were pretty standard and were included in the cost of the dress, which by the time I left I had paid in full. However, "modifications" were not included, so I ended up paying an extra $150 to add some lining to the front of the bodice. I wasn't expecting to pay extra, but since it was an almost $3K dress I thought it worth an additional $150 to have it turn out perfectly. I was supposed to have my final fitting a week before my wedding, on December 10th. The day prior, they texted to let me know that the dress would not be done and to push my appointment forward. I made a new appointment for Monday evening. My appointment on Monday was at 6pm; I was not seen until 7:10, when they said that the dress was not ready but that I could try on what they had so far. The lining for which I had paid extra was not done at all, and the tailor seemed unaware that I had requested such a modification. When leaving, I was told there would be no way the dress would be ready the next day, but that we would try to arrange for Wednesday, or Thursday at the very latest. Lo and behold, we had to make an appointment for Thursday, but I was assured that the dress would be "ready and perfect" when I arrived at 10am. I arrived at the shop on Thursday right when it opened; I was the only person there. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes by myself before they even brought the dress in to me. Something felt off. When they had pinned it up, the bodice felt wonderfully snug, keeping the low V neckline relatively modest. The dress they returned to me the morning before my wedding felt oddly slack, the neckline seemed more revealing, and one side of the trim was buckling outward. They had indeed added the lining in the bodice, but they had for some reason left a portion uncovered right in the center where it was needed most. I had waited three extra days and an additional hour and a half to put on what had been a beautiful princess dress and now made me feel awkward and ugly. They went to check the bustle of the dress and decided to do a three-point bustle instead of just picking up the train in one place. I was fine with this, as I had repeatedly told them that I needed the train to be picked up quite a bit to enable me to dance at the reception. However, they left much more of a train than I anticipated. The train was predictably stepped on while I was dancing, which tore out one of the bustle attachments. After the initial try-on and bustle adjustment, they took the dress back for half an hour to sew it. When I tried it on again, I pressed the issue about the awkward bodice and hole in the lining, and they took the dress back again to fix it up, as well as reattach the bow on the back and fix some issue with the lace in the waist being too taut. This was around 1pm. They said these remaining alterations would be an additional 10-15 minutes. Those 15 minutes took two more hours. I finally left the shop at 3:30pm. The dress finally did look sufficient, and they seemed to have fixed all the issues -- "seemed" being the operative term. An hour before my wedding, we found that they neglected to send the bow home with me. While searching for the bow between the layers of the skirt, I discovered that they had never sewn the lining when they picked up the hem. The whole front of the skirt was pinned up with big, thick safety pins. Yes, the dress is beautiful. But it was not a $3000 dress in quality of tailoring or of service. If I had not paid in full back in November, I would have asked for a discount. There were some sweet girls at Rosa Clara whom I thank for their kindness. But to the brides-to-be out there: save yourself time, stress, awkwardness, and heartache and take your business elsewhere. read more

The staff here repeatedly lied about the timeframe for alterations, keeping us waiting for HOURS in a small white dressing room while claiming the dress would be done "in 15 minutes." This was on top of delaying the dress by nearly a week until the day before the wedding, which is the last time one wants to be stressing about incompetent seamstresses. In addition to their delays, the alterations were terribly done and, in fact, not even complete--the skirt was actually held up by safety pins, and the poorly-sewn bustle ripped out at the reception. I want to warn you to stay away from this dress shop. I just had the worst experience. I bought a gorgeous dress that I left for them to alter. Their seamstress literally ruined the dress by her subpar alterations. They should be ashamed of themselves for having such an inexperienced seamstress working in a designer dress shop! Everything she did, caused something else to go wrong in the dress - like a domino effect, and it was never the same beautiful dress I bought, despite having to endure her many alterations, while waiting, because she couldn't recover from her initial poor work. She cut too much fabric out to begin with and was sloppy in her measurements. She didn't even pin the hem- just put 1 pin in and said that the whole dress would be cut according to that. Well as it turns out, the back was literally 2 inches shorter than the front! It was supposed to be longer in the back with a bit of a train! I should have never taken the dress from the shop, but I felt bullied by the staff there, and they made me feel like I was crazy for thinking their alterations were bad. But the hem is uneven, it's 2 inches shorter in the back then the front, the whole bodice is messed up and the sleeves were baste stitched together, not even machine stitched properly, so when I tried it on again I noticed it had a 2 inch hole in the sleeve! How could a respectable dress shop do that to me? I'm so upset that I spent so much money $$$$ on this dress and can't ever wear it. I thought I'd try a last ditch attempt and see if another seamstress elsewhere could fix all the dress's issues, but he said he's never seen anything so poorly altered. he said she "murdered" the dress and he couldn't fix it because there wasn't even enough fabric at the hem and seams to work with. I wish I could get my money back, then if i see that they care about their customers, I might raise my rating- but as of now, I would tell you to stay away. I ordered my dress in April and waited till Early Oct. (6months) to get my dress. Only to find out my dress arrived in the wrong color. I waited two wks for my ivory dress to arrive and I assume they rushed in the making of the dress, as the dress had lose threads sticking out all over my laced dress. Poorly handmade!!!! On my wedding day I had the first two back buttons pop off. Leaving the front heart shape of my dress baggy lose. I walked down the isle with my front loose as I had no time to get it fix in my hotel suite and the limo was already waiting for me. I'm a size 2 and small breast. The front of my dress looked horrible in all of my ceremony photos. Not worth buying a dress here. Go somewhere really worth it!!!!! read more

The service was really good and the dress options come in many. I would recommend looking here. Some of the staff people in the front can be a little uptight (I don't understand why, they should be more courteous to try and win potential clients over) but there are different styles + different price options, which helped because sometimes certain wedding dress stores only cater to people who are willing to spend at least 6k and up. Cool, but I'm not. This one has different dresses in different prices options. Parking is located in the back, get packed around 6 but there's a garage across the street. I liked that there are options of purchasing an "add-on" ball gown skirt/dress (it's more$) but its an option other places didn't have. I used mine for the church and it kept my guest guessing. Just be very aware that to purchase a dress it takes 5 months to arrive from Spain! Seems a little much to me but at the end they delivered well.. Just be 110% sure before you leave your deposit with them, because at first not even 24 after I left my deposit, I realized I needed a different style because of my church restrictions I had that I didn't run through with yet but they didn't care if wasn't even 24 hours. I realized the mistake i made too late. They acted as though the dress was already made and shipped from Spain. Which obviously it wasn't, the money was probably not even deposited yet. I felt like I signed my life away, this is a wedding and a dress is what you'll be carrying around. So much drama.. After a lot of fighting with them, they let me have a store credit with strict conditions. But I was grateful because my church was strict. I just didn't realize the drama I had to go through in not even 24 hours. My mom was giving this dress to me as a gift so I felt so bad for her too. She had to fight with me. Thankfully, I had to look for another dress and inside that place they had many options. Keep in mind when they are getting your size and the size they order for you. I fell in love with a certain dress (because of how great I fit in the tight dress! It complimented my waist and body.) I had this situation where my original sales woman left Rosa Clara but another woman attended me by the time the dress arrived. When I tried on the dress that arrived, it closed fine and the new sales woman said "look it fits perfect, it doesnt even need alterations here" but for some reason it didn't fall the same as the dress I originally fell in love with?!? I was so confused the rest of the day and felt sick to my stomach that maybe I'm crazy and made a mistake?? I looked at the picture of when I said yes to that dress and realized it was a smaller size! I went to store and told them they had ordered me a larger size. Im not crazy. They said that's normal because when they measure me, they have to go by my measurements and order THAT size. But ...I wanted the ORIGINAL size. I never asked different. They guaranteed me to Make the alterations fit that of the smaller size I originally tried on. Alterations there aren't cheap. Soooo.... I spoke to many friends who went through similar and it's a tactic commonly done to have the bride invest in alterations. Thank God though, at the end after a lot of stress and fighting, the dress came out a dream. I had sleeves added that everyone loved. Which they met that promise as close as possible. This bridal store is exquisite; it is where my bridal party and I received the BEST service in all of miracle mile. The designer, Rosa Clará, is Spanish and the designs are absolutely timeless. All the dresses are behind glass doors and they show you the collections on a tablet. Super cool! The large dressing rooms provide you and your party with an unforgettable bridal experience. The only downside is the price. Dresses start at about $2,500 and many of them are waaaay over that. I fell IN LOVE with a stunning ball gown and had my bride moment with a dress that is significantly over my budget. The dress is everything I was looking for and even more! I'm still crying and frantically searching for something that can attempt to compare to Rosa Clará's design. My efforts have been unavailing thus far. read more

I had a really bad experience at this shop. I went in there and told them my budget, like normal, so they could narrow down the dresses to what was within my budget. I had about eight dresses picked and started trying them on with the sales woman. After trying on a few that I didn't like, I tried one on that I did like. My mom, aunt, and sister liked it too. Great! So I asked what the price was, and the woman gave me the price, which happened to be $300 over my budget. I kindly let her know that price was not within the budget we had established. But whatever, no big! Moving on. I asked her if the rest of the dresses were within my budget, just so I knew I wasn't wasting my time, and she said they were. So I try on the next dress, which I happen to love. I present it to my family who also are in love with it. We're all really happy and ready to buy this dress! I ask the sales woman what the price was. She tells me its $500 over my budget. Really? At this point, I was really upset. I had already explicitly asked her if the rest of the dresses were within my budget, and she said yes. And now, she lets me try on this dress, fall in love with it, and tells me its $500 over budget? Really? How do you do that to a bride? After letting her know how disappointed we are, she says she can include the alterations in the price. I'm still not happy with that because it's still not within my budget, so we ask to speak with the manager. The manager comes out and lets us know how much the dress used to cost, and what it was now marked down to. She says we were really getting a great price. After discussing further, she still doesn't budge, saying she can't lower it to my budget max-limit. Again, she reiterates how the dress is already very discounted. You know, I really liked the dress, and I would have bought it from them if they hadn't had this deceitful policy of having brides try on dresses outside of their budget so as to boost sales or whatever. Every other shop I visited only brought me dresses within the established budget. Of course, there were a few times they brought out dresses they thought I'd love that went a little over the budget, but they always let me know this first before I tried it on. That's the right thing to do, no? At Rosa Clara, the sales woman literally lied to me when I asked if the rest of the dresses were within budget and let me try on and gush over a new dress that she knew was too expensive. And not once did I receive an apology. All I got was 'Oh, well this dress used to cost xx and now has been discounted to yy!' Listen, I did not come to your store to haggle down prices, but both women couldn't seem to grasp this. They kept arguing the point that the dress was already sooo discounted. Again, I liked the dress and probably would have splurged if they had been more honest. Instead, I'm going to go back to the amazing husband-and-wife-run boutique shop Opera D'Arte (few blocks away) to buy a dress from them that's over my budget. read more

It is hard for me to give Rosa Clara-Miami a 2 star review, mostly because the sales assistants that work there are very nice and were very welcoming to me. However, they really need to get a better alterations person. I would agree with a previous review here that the alterations department is not very good. Yes, they have beautiful dresses, but what is the point if the alterations person does a bad job in fitting them to you and your liking? We had purchased a beautiful dress here and had asked for a simple addition of fabric to be added to the back part of the dress, so that my back wasn't completely visible. However, when we saw what the alteration lady had done (mind you, a DAY before my wedding), we were shocked. She had included clips in the back that were completely visible because they were on the border of the fabric, and you could tell that it was done in a very rushed/lazy way. They were thankfully able to improve the dress a few hours later, but it still wasn't 100 % what we had wanted (and I am a really laid back/easy going customer!). In sum, while the dresses here are nice and the sales staff is nice, the alterations department is quite weak and unprofessional, which is why you should think twice before purchasing here. read more

No stars. I made an appointment at Rosa Clara/Aire Barcelona on Friday afternoon for the following Monday. On Monday I called while I was on the way to let the shop ( from 3 hours away) to let them know I was running 10 minutes late. The lady on the phone asked my name to look up our info and assured me that it was fine and they would honor my appointment. Upon arriving I was told I did not have an appointment and that they didn't recall speaking to me and were to busy to assist me. After speaking with the woman at the front they decided to let my friend and I browse while they waited for their next appointment, we graciously accepted. While I was looking at designs with my friend (the bride) a woman walked up to us and in a very uninterested manner said "yes, can I help you". We brushed it off and were grateful, we followed her to a desk so she could get an idea of what we were looking for. My friend immediately told the sales woman that she was in love with a gown that was on a mannequin. The woman immediately said "no, that is our couture line, it is $6000" and shut her down before she knew what we were willing to spend. We were absolutely mortified by her reaction and so disgusted by the overall attitude of all of the staff in Rosa Clara/Aire Barcelona. My friend insisted she wanted to try the couture dress and told the staff that her budget allowed for it, the staff continued to come up with excuses why it was not possible, such as "oh someone else is trying it at he moment". Still, thereafter we tried to have nice conversation and lighten the tense and uncomfortable mood and the sales woman did not even crack a smile or respond to our questions. It was incredibly insulting rude and unprofessional. When we left the sales lady asked for our number, however at that point the most we could do was walk out and let them know we would never be returnung . We ended up at an amazing shop a few blocks over where we were treated like family and my friend ultimately chose a gorgeous couture dress from a fantastic family owned Italian company. I would never recommend Rosa Clara/Aire Barcelona on Miracle mile to any one and have never been so disappointed in my life. I wish I would have read these awful reviews. They have the most unprofessional rude employees I have ever encountered. My daughter new the dress she wanted just needed simple alterations. It was big on the top and since the bac was open my daughter decided to add a tulle mesh see through but it covered the back. The seamstress was so rude she told my daughter she did not fit the dress on top due to the size of the upper portion of her body, and she couldn't do anything about it. Insinuating that was my daughter's problem due to her size. I asked her to insert a bra pad to try to make the top look better and closer to her body. This lady no matter what we said she was nasty, argumentative and gave you the impression she was above us, we didn't know what we were talking about. At that moment I should have left but the wedding was just in a few days. The day before the wedding my daughter went to try on and pick up the dress. No improvement to the top portion, but worse they sewed the tulle in the back with the thread on the outside not even a person learning to sew would do that. So my daughter purchased a veil to cover that mess. They ruined the dress. Her father was with her and had to take the dress the wedding was the next day in the afternoon. So he took it to a real seamstress who removed the tulle and sewed it with the thread in the inside and not visible. Her father let them know but in a decent manner not to upset our daughters day and ruin her wedding day. I spoke with the store manager and owner of this franchise and they offered a discount next time. Ridiculous, we would never buy anything there again! read more
