We went to Rosa Flamingos last Thursday night. We both had pasta dishes for dinner. Each dish was ok. I will say for the price point of the entrees that a small side salad should be included with the meal. Also, for a slow night in the dinning room, we hardly saw our "waitress". I use that term loosely as she didn't know the menu or what the tap offerings were, and then brought the wrong drinks. We noticed that a large party who was seared near us, being served by another waitress, was brought bread before their meals. We asked our server if we could have some bread while we waited for our meals, and we never received that. So..to sum it up...too pricey for the portions and mediocre service. read more

I went to Rosa Flamingos for a nice dinner with my family and had to leave the restaurant because of the terrible customer service. We called to make reservation hours in advance and we were told we couldn't make a reservation for the patio. Upon arriving there were numerous empty tables on the patio and we were told that they were all reserved. With no one in line for these numerous tables we were lead to sit on the back deck in the summer weather where it was very hot in the summer heat and no umbrellas were provided. Furthermore the inside does not proved air conditioning which creates an uncomfortable eating environment. We left for a restaurant with much better customer service where we were immediately seated on the patio with friendly customer service. If you are looking for a nice family dinner where you can enjoy the weather while eating I would not recommend Rosa Flamingos. read more

This is the second time I have been to Rosas in the last month and have been disappointed tonight my brother was served raw chicken, and the worst thing was there was no manager to apologize for the meal. We ordered the special bread pudding on the menu and they only had two left (by the way) they just opened for the night. I see all the good reviews but this was not our experience. The server was really good, very attentive and friendly, but the food left much to be desired. We should have known when the bread came out - this place is supposed to be Itailian but the bread was a hunk of white dough with Poppy seeds and sesame seeds on top. My husband ordered the Eggplant Parmigiano - three pieces of obviously not home made eggplant deep fried over a few noodles was not what he had hoped for. The Pasta Orchietta was described as having sausage, spinach and ricotta cheese. The spinach was fresh baby leaf which was pleasantly surprising, but the sausage consisted of three lima bean sized chunks and the sauce was very sweet. My son had noodles with meatballs off the kids menu - the meatballs were all garlic - what 5 year old wants a mouth full of garlic? We won't be back. read more

One of the few places open late in the area, we had been here before and choose the downstairs pub for a quick meal after a long hike. Server was great, good conversations and they split an adult meal over two plates right from kitchen. Salads were wonderful, good dressing, chicken was cooked just right. Nachos hit the spot. We stopped here when we were starving on our way home from Downeast Maine. It was Saturday around 6:00, so we expected it to be busy, but I think everyone in 50 miles was here! There were no tables in the bar and the dining room was reservations only, so we sat on the patio. We were surprised to see the prices ($17 and up) for the main courses, but we were starving and willing to pay anything! We started with the potato skins, which were very different, but quite good. The only strange part was that they sliced raw jalapenos and put them on top. They didn't even unseed them. They had that strange raw taste that jalapenos have. It would have been nice to have them a little cooked. I had the fish and chips, which was wonderfully flaky. The fries were good, and the fiddleheads on the side were a nice touch. Overall, the dish was 4 out of 5. The star of the meal was the calzone. Although it had a touch too much ricotta and a touch too little mozzarella, the crust was amazing! We are hoping to recreate it at home. With the right ratio of ingredients inside it would easily be the best calzone we've had! The service was slow, but it was definitely busy. We asked for the check prior to our food coming out since we were in a hurry. Unfortunately, it then took 20 minutes after we finished eating to get take out boxes, so it didn't really get us out quickly. If I had time to enjoy this restaurant and savor the food, I would definitely return. We may have to return just for the calzones! read more

About 2 weeks ago, I was visiting a friend in Bethlehem and a group of us decided to go here. It was a nice night so we opted to eat outside on their patio. We all ordered pizza which was very good. The crust is not thick and all the toppings were fresh. I don't order pizza very often because it is commonly found on Italian restaurant menus but many times it is not remarkable. That is not the case at Rosa's - it is very tasty. I took away one star due to the lack of having at least one non-spicy meat sauced spaghetti dish. First time here and we sat outside. Great patio, music and food. The one thing that was very disturbing was the pricing on the menu. It's very deceiving. We ordered chicken parmigiano thinking it was $17, which we thought was a very fair price. Well, that price was without chicken. If you wanted chicken, it was an extra $20. Ate at Rosa's last night for the second time this winter. WOW! Best wings I have ever had in my life. - the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY should send their cooks here to learn how a wing is made. Unbelievable pizza. Those are the basics but Rosa's does way more than pizza and wings. The specials are always a nice surprise and always a tough choice because they are all delicious. The mussels were great, good fresh salads. Really friendly bartender and great margaritas. This place is all about the food and drinks, and they do it right. I will start with our particular experience and then move to the restaurant in general. A. Our Particular Experience BACKGROUND: Group of 8 with a reservation. Birthday party. I have worked (and still do) in customer service for 15 seasonal years. SERVICE/WAIT TIME (POOR): We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly, however, that was the only thing that was done promptly. Complimentary bread did not come out until a half hour had lapsed. Our drinks order, which only consisted of three glasses of wine and a ginger ale took roughly 15 minutes. The food came out 20-30 minutes after the bread. However, the birthday girl's dinner did not come out with the rest of the meals. Her meal was a salad with grilled chicken, which should have been quick to cook. Also, the waitress brought out 1 5-6" loaf of bread for a party of 8 people, which I divied up among our group as if we were rationing for WWII. It would have been nice to be asked if we wanted another loaf. FINALLY, we waited 45+ minutes for the check (Yes, this was the straw that broke the camel's back). After 30 minutes of waiting for it, my girlfriend went up and asked for it. But nobody came, so ten minutes later, and with only 4 of our 8 guests still at the table, my mom walked up to the front to see if she could get the check and she STILL had to wait! They actually told her they would be right with her. We weren't able to leave for another 15 minutes after this. Needless to say this was an absurd time to wait. Common sense dictates that when you pick up food to pack up for guests, you ask if they want dessert. If they say maybe, you give them a menu while you pack up the food. When you come back you ask if they want it, if they don't you give them the check. FOOD (AVG/POOR): I ordered the carbonara which I thought was good, but not a carbonara. My girlfriend got the scallops which were overcooked, though the seasoning was good. Her dish was served with french fries or baked potato, which seemed a bizarre side choice for an Italian restaurant. The fries were handcut and admittedly good, but did not fit with the meal or the concept of the restaurant. I also tried my mother's anti pasta salad which was incredibly greasy and lacked good, fresh flavor. My aunt's salad looked fine, but I did not try it. The Lasagana and vegetable sub looked okay too, but I did not try them. The pre-meal bread was cold on the outside and not that great. It was covered with sesame and poppy seeds and served with butter (not olive oil and cracked pepper), which seemed bizarre choice for an italian restaurant. In short, the quality of the dishes varied from fair to poor and it was not authentic Italian food. PORTION SIZE (?): I will not grade the portion sizes Excellent to Poor because there was NO CONSISTENT portion size. My carbonara hardly had anything in it, as did my aunt's salad and the scallop dinner my girlfriend got, yet the sub and lasagna and anti pasta were huge. PRICE (POOR): My carbonara was 19.00. I can go to North End in Boston and get an authentic tasting carbonara for 14.00-19.00 with a much bigger portion size. They are about $5.00 too high on their pricing, especially for NH. OVERALL EXPERIENCE (POOR): This was a Kitchen Nightmare experience for me as a customer. Look at my other reviews and you will see I am usually very fair grader. For $20.00 a plate this restaurant offered inadequate service and subpar food. B. Restaurant Overall SERVICE (POOR): As I said before, too much waiting time, especially for a bill. If you charge 20.00 a plate the service better be good and responsive when it is brought to their attention that it is failing. THE KITCHEN (FAIR/POOR): Though some of the food was good as I noted, you don't send someone's dish out well after everyone else has gotten their food. That is inexcusable in any restaurant, let alone one that charges $20.00 a plate. This dish happened to be for the honored birthday guest. PRICE (POOR): The price point is completely off. The food does not taste like authentic Italian and the service is not up to par for $20.00 a plate. It should be more in the $11-$15 range. CONCEPT: The concept of the restaurant is completely bizarre. It tries to present itself as an Italian restaurant with fancier prices yet has chicken wings and french fries on the menu? Other examples include the non-italian style bread served with butter instead of olive oil and cracked pepper and Johnny Cash music playing in the background. Also, I am assuming there is no wine list because we were not given one. Wine and Italian go hand-in-hand, especially when you are marketing fancier. It just seemed extremely bizarre. If you want to have fancy Italian and a reasonably priced bar menu, then just do cheaper Italian food on the bar menu. Having french fries and chicken wings at an Italian restaurant just makes no sense, no matter how good they are. OVERALL: I would not try this restaurant again based on our experie read more

Average service for a night where we were the only table to serve. Nachos were mediocrity at its finest; clearly most of the dish came from a can. The guacamole was near soft serve in consistency and awful, the tomatoes that were scattered atop were certainly the ONLY thing fresh on the plate. We both orderd burgers with my being the "Rosa burger" classic and hers being the "meatball burger". I ordered medium and we both got the "hand cut" fries. Her burger was okay, the meat was unseasoned and tasted little like the meatball it was masquerading as under the flavorful sauce. My Rosa burger was overcooked and also underseasoned, if at all, the meat had no sauce to hide under and it's true colors shown through; it was clearly low quality beef. The whole burger tasted of latex and was pretty awful, I will also take this opportunity to mention that "additional toppings" cost a dollar fifty! That's outrageous! The fries were recomended by our waitress and they could have been fine if they hadn't been thoroughly overcooked. Overall the experience was bad, we won't be back. Too bad because we're local and like to support local business when it's worth it. Let us know when the kitchen gets some pride and passion back and we will try again. read more

Came across this place kind of by accident, didn't realize we had to make reservations at our way too expensive hotel restaurant so we ventured out and so happy we did! We went straight down to bar area not realizing there was an upstairs but so glad we did, everyone was so entertaining and friendly waitress was awesome and attentive even though she was clearly busy. My husband got the rosa burger he said was delicious and homemade French fries were very yummy. I got the baked shrimp scampi it was delicious! Felt like I was eating homemade meal but much better. Can't say enough good things! The bar area was super loud but it's a bar and it was fun, wouldn't go down there for a quiet dinner if that's what you want. read more

I came here to get Roasa'a business phone number, but felt I had to write a review after seeing all the negativity. Everyone's experience is different, but WOW! I'm shocked! Not only did my boyfriend and I have GREAT time, but so did everyone else at our B&B. We were all raving about it at breakfast. Live musician was amazing (which is why I was trying to find the phone number), the food was great and our service was great. Maybe they just happened to be on point the weekend we were there or maybe things have changed since many of these reviews were written, but I strongly recommend Rosa Flamingo's! read more

my wife and daughter went to this establishment last night. my wife got raw chicken and i got long hairs in my food. the calamari was disgusting swimming in a vinergrette pool and was soggy. my daughter got chicken parm. and the pasta came out cold and was not cooked all the way still crunchy. ill never go here or recommend it to anyone. all i have to say is food poisoning. and btw we didnt even know it was raw until i noticed a piece that my wife had my daughter try and she didnt like it btw, and the dinner was almost gone when we notice the raw chicken. it was not the waiters fault but they didnt even want to take the meals off the check. so you can come to your own conclusion. the pace was dark grimy and had flys buzzing all around. read more

Went here while staying at Mount Washington Resort. Food was amazing. Best Butternut Squash Ravioli I ever had. Ordered a second (appetizer size) and made it the meal, and was served the second one almost immediately. Service was excellent. Seriously loved the place.
